Editorial Reviews
Conservative Americans who enjoy good pop music are in for a treat with composer James Perloff's Freedom Shall Return album. Taking a cue from the sixties, Perloff has written twelve songs that are strong on both melody and message.
"Castlegate Love," the album's opening number and only love song, is about a Christian woman seeking an "equally yoked" man. "Where Did All the Holidays Go?" laments the commercialization of holidays. Snappy "Home-School Kids" extols the benefits of homeschooling. "Echoes of Vietnam," a tribute to the veterans of that war, is a story about a dying vet having a flashback to a battle. "Goodbye to Darwin" takes aim at the cultural impact of reducing people to animals. The album picks up speed with "Network News," fifties-style rock 'n' roll that whacks media bias. "The Lost Cause," a haunting ode to the South of Robert E. Lee, is odds-on to be a hit in Dixie. High-powered "Let Revival Break Out," the album's only pure gospel tune, will make you dance. "The Fifties" is nostalgia about better times. "Say 'No' to the New World Order" champions American sovereignty. "Freedom Shall Return," the title song, is a dramatic call to restore religious liberty to America, especially public schools. "Congress Is Back in Session" is strictly for laughs, featuring a big-mouthed Congressman who boasts about spending and vote fraud.
Freedom Shall Return is composer James Perloff's first venture in music. His books The Shadows of Power, Tornado in a Junkyard, and The Case Against Darwin (all available at Amazon.com), have striven to impact American culture for the better. Freedom Shall Return is clearly a different path toward the same ends. Performed by outstanding professional musicians, the album was produced by the talented Sang of Stompmachine in Salem MA (stompmachine.com). For lyrics and downloadable clips, visit refugebooks.com.

Awesome!.......2006-07-04
This cd is truly something you should add to your own cd library!
An album for our times.......2003-08-22
I also recommend the book written by the album's composer--"Tornado In a Junkyard." This book explains in science, not religion, the intelligent design of the universe and how evolution is just an atheist myth. It almost makes you feel sorrow for the top scientists that claim to believe in evolution. The author, James Perloff, was formally an atheist so he knows about atheism and Christianity firsthand.
