The heart-stopping thrill you get from loving music and its energy is being put back into modern pop by six young men in 21st century America. The Upstanders are a pop band from Philadelphia with a shining, peerless live act and a pocket full of the best songs anyone has heard in a long time. Album Description

Chinese classical music is a much larger field than Western classical music. It covers a huge geographical area as well as a time frame of thousands of years. Although some of China's musical instruments have changed very little in hundreds or thousands of years, others were adapted to Western standards under the influence of Russian musicians during the middle of this century. In some cases, frets were added to non-chromatic instruments and tonalities standardized. The liner notes of The Hugo Masters: An Anthology of Chinese Classical Music contain extensive documentation of the various instruments used in Chinese solo and orchestral music, with descriptions of their history and modifications, as well as an essay to help Western listeners understand the background of Chinese classical music.

The instruments fall into four categories, each constituting a separate compact disk:
Volume One: Bowed Strings
Volume Two: Plucked Strings
Volume Three: Woodwinds
Volume Four: Percussion
These disks are available individually or as a collector's series in a beautifully designed silk boxed set.

The music itself is highly varied and richly emotional. The music paints pictures of China's people, their culture and homeland, and their dreams and their despair. The Hugo Masters: An Anthology of Chinese Classical Music is a joint effort of the Hugo and Celestial Harmonies labels to bring this definitive anthology to listeners worldwide. This is the first time these recordings have become available to audiences outside of Hong Kong. For listeners unfamiliar with Chinese classical music, these works are a powerful and emotional awakening.

GREAT CD FOR CHEAPO!.......2004-01-03

Usually Naxos is hit or miss, but Anthony Rolfe Johnson and Simon Keenlyside pull off a great recording of a great selection of some of Vaughn Williams. Best 7 dollars I ever spent, really. On Wenlock Edge is particularly good, but really its all superb.

Evolving Upstanders constantly keep listener intrigued.......2000-05-22

Starting with the Prelude on track 1, a listener is immediately hooked on the Morning Volume. My favorite tracks include Autopilot and Dear Daphne. Dear Daphne is the closest link to the Upstander's previous recordings, with it's upbeat tempo and witty lyrics. This EP is a large musical improvement over 'Waiting for the World to Catch Up'. Every track has a VERY intricate arrangement. I highly reccomend this title.

This tape is an Absolute blessing to have. Although it only contains 2 songs the tape is full of the annointing. If you understand the idea of wailing and giving birth to your blessing then this is the tape for you. Have you ever felt the anointing so strong in your belly because of the Word of God that you put in there? And you can feel the potential in you and can see the blessings that it will bring. But after carrying that Word or "baby" for a while it becomes heavy and fully grown and the only thing that needs to happen is the delivery. It is then, that the desires of your heart to fulfil that word and bless God's people will go into action. Well this tape by Phophetess Bynum will definitely act as "mid-wife" to help you deliver your "baby" or that "Word.
