About the Artist
Giovanni is originally from Philadelphia where he studied classical voice at Temple University. He is a lifelong lover of music and singing. He has appeared in many musical theater productions and has sung with the Spruce Street Singers in Philadelphia and the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus. He relocated to San Francisco in 1994 and still resides there at the present time. In 1997 he teamed up with Steve Heithecker and Greg Jordan at Digital Art and Music to produce his first CD FEAST FOR THE BOOGEYMAN."This is a collection of very personal songs about the struggle to find one's spirit in this world. The musical style is ecclectic. There are elements of rock, pop, folk, dance, techno, and classical combined to create a unique journey for the mind and ears as well as the soul".

Haunting melody and rhythms.......2000-04-02

I enjoyed listening to the distinctive qualities of this CD! The rhythms and the melody pulled me into each song, but it was the lyrics that keeps me returning to listen. This is a CD filled with introspective, almost pensive, musical poems that speak of the tragedies in life (heart ache, lost souls and lost love) and recovering from them as a stronger person.

I'm sorry that plastic was wasted on creating this cd. It is absolutely scary. He sounds flat. The music sounds like it was played on a mini casio electronic keyboard/calculator. The only thing that was truly entertaining were the liner notes. I laughed my butt off. The "artist" was inspired by Olivia Newton-John. If she heard this cd, I'd bet she'd wish the cancer got her.

Who Told This Man He Could Sing?.......2001-04-03

Who ever told this guy he could sing was obviously tone deaf! Listening to this CD reminds me exactly of what fingernails being scraped down a blackboard sounds like. And the "lyrics"? Giovanni's obviously stoned out of his mind when he wrote them. They make no sense whatsoever. Who can relate to this pseudo psycho-babble nonsense? Thankfully, my copy of this CD was a "gift", given to me amid much laughter and "You aren't going to believe this!" sort of comments. Now I know what all the laughter was about. The only good thing I have to say about this "piece of work" is that the CD makes an excellent frisbee. My advice to Mr. Giovanni: don't quit your day job.

Intensely Lyric Pop Opera.......2001-03-29

This CD has a certain maigical poetic quality that leaves one deeply moved. I hear it as a sort of modern pop operatic album, filled with genuine feeling and emotional intensity that one quickly identifies with. There is soul, and strength, and vulnerability here, as well as lyrical transcendence. The music and, more, the lyrics must be paid close attention. They are deeply rewarding.

Being familiar with this artist's work, I am continually impressed with his CDs. They are of the highest quality equalled only by the artist's voice. There is an emotionality that brings the listener close to the song and artist.
