About the Artist
Dana Marsale: (go to Caperentertainment.com/hear more samples!)
I was born in Temple, Texas to Victor & Joyce Jones. My father was in the military for most of my life so, needless to say, I have seen a-lot more of the world than the average person, Id imagine. Some of the places Ive been to, right out of Texas have been, Anchorage Alaska, Ft Gordon GA, Europe, Sierra Vista AZ, and back to Augusta GA again. I was fortunate enough to be able to see Spain, Italy, France, England, and Berlin to name a few, as a young man, while I was in Europe with my parents. I graduated from Buena High School in Arizona in 1992, which, coincidentally, was the same year my father retired from the military.
From there they decided they liked Augusta enough to retire and buy a home there. I decided this would be a golden opportunity for me to find myself a singing group to be a part of, since Id been singing in various choirs from as far back as 4th grade up until graduation in which I was a part of 2 different choirs; a concert choir, and a "swing choir", in which we sung and danced to oldies tunes and some more up-to-date ones as well.
To my delight, I found an R&B group within 2 months of moving to Augusta. We called ourselves M-Pulse. At the time they only had 3 members(Eric/Tommy Pringle/Will Clark), ranging from baritone to 1st tenor so I, undoubtedly, became their missing bass. During our brief period together, we made a-lot of accomplishments, which were publicized in one of the local Augusta papers; Some of our public performances include; mall talent shows, radio talent shows, a carnival talent show (in which we won 1st place), an Augusta May fest, a few basketball half-time shows, and the 1992 Augusta Black Expo. Since that time, I had joined the military (10/93), and served about 5 years, having only been to Korea and Ft Benning Ga on my own, definitely a growing-up-phase part of my life. After being honorably discharged from the Army, I worked a few odd jobs and security jobs in Columbus GA. I eventually moved to Augusta GA, ready to make a career change in 5/99. I attended GA Military College! in August of that same year (Crim.Justice/Gen. Studies major), and graduated 6/20/01.
I am currently studying for my BS in Criminal Justice w/Public Administration emphasis, at Brenau University, where I plan to graduate in May of 2003. Since the untimely break-up of M-Pulse, Id been keeping my dream alive on my own, working with different producers in the hopes of creating a solid demo to shop. & with the aid of Super Producer Sean Clyde ("DC Productions" out of Augusta,GA) that dream came true, and I recently completed my debut album "Playa" which Im very proud of & am quite confident that it will achieve mainstream success. I am very dedicated to whatever projects may come my way, and I feel my work ethic/ intense longing to understand the music business as a BUSINESS as well as entertainment, is what will make me a success in any business I choose to do. GO TO: Caperentertainment.com to hear 5 hott samples from my debut album! You're sure to love 'em!!!
Product Description

Without a doubt one of the best R&B albums ever made.......2006-12-07
Playa burst onto the scene with the huge single Cheers 2 U back in my sophomore year of high school. I was always a fan over the soundtrack songs & compilations songs so I decided to pick up their CD a few years ago. Other than the last three New Edition albums I hadn't heard an album from an R&B group that I could let play from beginning to end without hitting the skip button. The group stands out the most vocally on the ballads like All The Way, Push, Everybody Wanna Love Somebody, Together and Top Of The World. The album isn't all ballads there's also a few party jams like Ms. Parker and Don't Stop The Music. The group's three part harmony mixed with Timberland's unique production skills made an album debut full of enormous potential. Sadly the group was under shadowed in favor of Dru Hill and never got the mainstream success they deserved. If you get a chance pick this one up along with Smokey's two solo CD's and Digital Blacks. Some of the group's best work can be found on soundtrack and other people's CD you'll find the list below.
"Joy", from Welcome to Our World by Timbaland & Magoo
"Birthday", from Tim's Bio: From The Motion Picture: Life from Da Basement by Timbaland
"Your Dress", from the Dr. Doolittle Soundtrack
"Playboy Like Me", from the Blue Streak Soundtrack
"Woozy" from the Romeo Must Die Soundtrack
"Incense Burning" from the Exit Wounds Soundtrack
CHEERS 2 YOU.......2006-05-14
Ok,
So I remember some years ago, watching the video for Cheers 2 You and knew that I wanted to hear more from these guys. I think I was one of the first people in my "click" that payed attention to this cd.
The cd is nice. It won't bother saying which songs are the best because there is something on here for everybody. From funk, religious, rap, oldies, R&B...
This is the type of cd where you have to play from beginning to end.
I thought this was a first great effort and always wanted to hear more but they were dropped from their label.
However one the members of the group did alot of work with Aaliya's last album.
If you love R&B get this cd...it wont be a mistake.
Playa Playa.......2005-12-17
Another Great Group Under the Umbrella of JODECI Member De'Vante SWING.. It's Sad He Kept His Talent in the Background until Jodeci Broke Up. Infact De'Vante Swing Discoverd- A Girl group Called "SISTA" which Spawned - "MISSY",De'Vante Swing also Discovered Ginuwine,Timbaland & Magoo...It's Funny But Timbaland Past Up De'Vante Swing style of BEAT MAKING.
But Back On PLAYA The Lp is Incredible The Beats and Singing are very very good. IT's sad that they got dropped from Def Jam Records. Maybe OneDay They'll make another Classic.
If You CAN STILL FIND THIS CD! Then GO pick it Up!

All hail to the KING.......2006-04-09
I heard this is an already released underground album, but hey is still great. all the songs in here bump, he's the real, real deal, cause he speaks about philosophies and other topics u can feel to, and avoids typical subjects that we usually listen to. But again Cop this.
Funky Towns Finest..........2005-01-31
Thiz junt getz 666 stars eazy!!!But i think all Playa Fly albumz do,With trackz like Just Awaken Shaken,Catch You Slippin,Ana Hoe,Damn What a Nigga Say,Ode To The Tripple B***h Mafia & Triple B***h Mafia,By far the best 36 dizz evea(LIVE BY YO OWN REP)!!!...Ya i love 36 two,but dont let ana stop ya from liken all da orignal niggaz...
Fly is tha king.......2004-11-21
First of all, y'all needa get y'all facts straight. This wasn't no new album for 99 just a re-realese of Fly's undaground album. He added one track, too (F_ck a Wannabe).
secondly, Fly is validated in making the Triple [...] Mafia song. 'Cause that's what they is. They used to be hard, but they sold out, and now they commercialized and part of the got damn system. Fly said it himself...it wasn't 'bout no paper or time or anything...he just thought that was [...] and exposed them for that. That simple
Third of all, this album is bumpin' as hell and is a classic like all of Fly's albums. This is either his best or second best album, and he comes hard all tha damn time. Plus, guests like Gangsta Blac, Lil' Ced, Lil' Yo, V-Dog, and more make this album one that you gotta listen to.
PS Fly back on lock down, but MAFIA ALL DAY still gon come out. Cop it when it drops.

Lil Fly.......2006-04-09
The debut from playa fly, is pretty good, nice lyrics. Even though some tracks are really long and kind of gets boring, and the production too needs more help. But he saves all that with his flow. And the diss to Three 6 Mafia is good too, but i love 3-6 also. Well cop this and other Fly material, people should be CROWNIN' HIM.
fly shit.......2005-08-12
this is the quintessential fly cd.... WHEN R PLAYA FLY, GANGSTA BLACK, AND SKINNY PIMP GONNA HOOK UP AND START DOIN ALBUMS ALL TOGETHER? C'MON GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!
You gotta do a lotta yay to get kicked outta the 666.......2005-04-10
This album came out back in the day when fly was down with the prophet possie (now hyptnotize mindz) and its one of the best albums from the camp, up there with the t-rock cd. Playa fly now has beef with the 666 mafia, apparently cuz they kicked him out for snorting too much coke. If you listen to the 666 you know how much they talk bout gettin blowed so this dude must be a fiend, he definatly talks about snortin a whole bunch on this and his later albums. This one has some classic memphis tracks on it and is worth getting even tho its pretty old. His cousin gangsta blac also put out a good album with the 666 called 'can it be' thats worth getting too
BadBoy of MEM. Tenn.......2004-11-20
This is the fist memphis underground CD i ever herd and it's grade A quality from down south. Fly is one of the Best rappers down south. He is on a level with ATL's T.I, 8ball&MJG, Gangsta blac, Tommy Wright, Skinny Pimp. So buy it and bump it.
funkytown represented.......2001-11-13
Fly lets his talent shine on this album. I love Fly's lyrics in the old 3-6 joints....and I love this just as much. This album is a must have for anyone who has doubts about the talents of Memphis rappers....hands down they are the best, ANYWHERE. Too bad Fly and Blac can't patch things up with 3-6...if they got together again, they could rule the rap world...............

Mobboss Sound In It's Heyday.......2006-11-07
3 and a half stars.
The early to mid 90's was a special moment in time for Bay Area Hip-Hop. Almost every underground release was dope music and have now reached hard to find cult status. E.Z.S.D's debut is no exception. Their game spitting and subject matter is'nt groundbreaking but the production by Mike Mosley and Sam Bostic make this worth a spin. Probably the best street record to come out of Fairfield, Cali. Vallejo's next door neighbor.
Nearly Impossible To Find.......2005-09-25
EZSD's Game 2 Be $old is an extremely rare album. I had the cd in the mid 90's until someone stole my whole collection. I was in shock when I came across a mint copy at a local record shop. I snatched it up even though the price was quite hefty. The album is great. It's got some really great songs that just about any rap fan would enjoy. It's a shame that such a great album is so unknown. Solar Music Group and In A Minute Records released some of the best albums of all time.

If you've seen the Spheeris documentary "The Metal Years-The Decline Of Western Civilization Part 2" you may know who D'Priest was. The band in the film was London yes London the same band who made "Standard Concussion Bombs", had difficulty burning the Russian flag before "Russian Winter". Fans of the 80's Hair Metal on the Sunset Strip will appreciate this disc.

Second drop from Playa Fly.......2006-04-09
Fly does it again in this one, the production in this one improves from the previous album. Almost all songs here are great, he has some guests that do their part too. Of course gangsta blac makes an appereance. Cop this also.

start runnin' cuz heere cums p-fly!.......2004-07-15
once again playa fly delivers greatness. start runnin iz the best song on the cd, but therz PLENTY of other very good songs, so i'd recommend this herre to n e body who likes down south memphis rap. DEFINATELY fly's best cd!
Memphis Classic.......2004-04-11
This CD should be required listening not just for southern rap fans but for rap fans in general. Every song is something that you will want to listen to over and over again.
Playa Fly brings some amazing lyrical depth and cleverness throughout the entire album. No one is realer than Fly and you can't beat his patented flow. This album is almost entirely solo, but the guests (Gangsta Blac, Cool Bee, R-E-G, & DeRico) hold up there parts too. Producer Blackout makes sounds ranging from laid-back to upbeat to downright devilish. Playa Fly never relents on this album...he means every damn word that he says and that's why he's the greatest rapper ever, in my opinion.
This album is a tribute to that fact. Every word is perfectly placed. Any rap fan that doesn't own this album isn't really a rap fan.

Great Underground Debut.......2006-03-12
This CD is clearly talking about having lot's of money and living the high life. Mostly displayed in the track "Grippin Grain". There are alot of unknown artist's on this debut that are under Yungstar's TYP Label. I suggest if you liked June 27th, you should give this Cd a listen.
The South Is comin Up!.......2002-11-17
Finally, a cd about money thats actually pretty good. I know its a worn out subject, but Yungstar just really does it differently. For those of you who dont know him or the screwed up click, this is just a release of his slammin underground debut. The only problem, though, is the fact that they took the tightest song ever off of here: June 27th. The song was nearly 20 minutes long! With just as many artists, from Lil Keke to SPM, and none of it was weak. I would recommend this cd instead because it has a second disc with more great songs on it. But if I were you id get averything with this young man on it. Because he is very talented and just hasnt blown up yet. He just never runs out of throwed off stuff to say! You really got to get this one.
Off da chain.......2000-07-31
This c.d. is very good. It's especially good for listeners who love to hear a rapper just go off. I suggest getting the original Throwed Yung Playa c.d. because it includes the track June 27 which is about 15+ minutes long. You should here Yungstar freestyle he can go off.
If you like "Wanna Be a Baller", you'll like this more!.......2000-02-05
Yungstar's double-disc debut opens up with an intro commenting on the importance of keeping his name in the game, riding high on the success of Lil' Troy's "Wanna Be a Baller". This album picks up where that song leaves off, giving you tales of floss and gloss, laced with some of the phattest beats around. This CD is so nice, Epic picked it up after its independent success, but that is not without error. First, they took off a song relying heavily on a sample of Michael Jackson's "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)", which was my personal favorite on the album. Second, they took off a bonus track that was nearly twenty minutes long, featuring at least as many artists! The free second disc with the new release makes up for that, however, pick up both if you get the chance!

Playa Fly is BACK.......2002-12-31
Playa Fly has done it again. FLY2K is another addition to the list of classic Playa Fly albums. The only downside to this cd is that it's basically just a compilation of already previously released songs. Actually, out of the 18 songs there's only 4 or 5 new songs on there. And in some of those he's freestylin' over a jail phone since he's been locked up for a few years now. So, if you're a Fly fan then go ahead and get the album but if you're lookin for a better Playa Fly album then i suggest either "Movin On" or "Da Game Owe Me"
