5 out of 5 stars Mustang Sally.......2000-08-17

This cd is great. I am originally from Memphis, but now live in Orlando, Florida. This cd brings back memories of my youth and a time when music had meaning, not mean music. The content of this cd helps those who are not familiar with Beale Street and Memphis music live the experience of an era where music was made with heart and feeling from local people that sang of a way of live that was exciting, filled with both pleasure and pain, and sometimes living on the edge that dealt with relationships and day to day ups and downs that allowed the listeners to relate and partake in the storyline as they listened. This type music and artists gave us rock-a-billy and undoubtably rock and roll while forever marking history. You can bet that today's artists will never re-write history like these pioneers of the greatest music ever produced have no matter how many millions of copies they sell, the heart and soul will never match those of yesteryear. Hats of to the producers and artists that allow us to relive days gone by and leave us yearning for a return to those days when we could relate to what we were listening to as they sang of our own experiences that we were not brave enough to mention. This cd and ones like it are a "must have" for any collector or anyone who is a music buff such as myself. I truly hope that a sceond cd is in the making, and if not suggest that one be expedited to give true music lovers something to look forward too. Thank you for the opportunity to review such a great work, it has been a pleasure to not only review but to listen.

5 out of 5 stars Heart Beat of a City! Memphis on Review.......2000-08-06

The producer's of this Memphis on Review CD certainly had a true feeling for the heatbeat of Beale Street which is Memphis, Tennessee's claim to fame. The history of the city can be felt in listening to the established greats of the era when the Memphis Blues were heard and known around the nation. Anyone visiting Beale Street in Downtown Memphis even today can readily feel the pulse of the very heart and soul of the singer's of yesteryear. Listening to this CD brings your mind and emotions back to the historic area where so many talented artist's would gather their talent and treat the audience to their own renditions of the greats as well as the unknown. Five great stars to the artists, the musicians and the producers of this fine piece of artistry!

5 out of 5 stars Great Stax Must Have!.......2000-07-30
