"Kissing Minneapolis Goodbye" was Marty Winkler's farewell concert in the Twin Cities. This concert caps 17 years of performing in Minneapolis and St. Paul and was recorded live at Patrick's Cabaret. The concert opens with an original intro written by Winkler to the standard "Summertime" and it's clear from the start that this is a valentine from Winkler to her fans. In addition to "Summertime" there are two other standards on the bill, but the bulk of the concert is original music. Winkler's soaring vocals are supported by the guitar wizardry of Tate Ferguson. Kate Bordeaux and Katy Thomasberg add back-up vocals that make for angelic harmonies throughout. The first eight tunes feature Ferguson on guitar, then performance artist Heidi Arneson, who was the concert emcee, does a poignant a cappella goodbye. This is followed by 5 tunes by The Collective, the a cappella group formed by Winkler, Bordeaux and Thomasberg. The Collective opens with two witty tunes about unrequited love then moves on to close the concert with three gospel-flavored songs that show why this group was a Twin City favorite for over five years.

The concert has great warmth to it. It's clear that Winkler has mixed feelings about her departure but gives a no-holds-barred performance nonetheless.
