About the Artist
After being raised in a smalltown in the heart of the American west, Evan Cowden attended the pretigious Berklee College of Music on Scolarship awarded to him for excellence in vocal performance. There he studied his craft along side artists such a Layla Hathaway and Grammy Award Winner Paula Cole.

In 1990, Evan left Boston and began the search for a sound, the sound that would set him apart...He turned to the late night club scenes of Los Angeles and New York and this is where he found it...NU ELECTRO! Evan Cowden is poised to be a leader in the emergence of the nu electro sound popping up in clubs all over the United States and Europe.

Strongly influenced by by the post-modern/new-wave movements of the early 1980's, and inspired by vocalists such as Jimmy Somerville, Lisa Stansfield, Alison Moyet, and Andrew Bell; Evan Cowden has suceeded in drawing from the heavy synth pop arrangments of Vince Clarke and the Pet Shop Boys, blending them with contemporary house and R&B flavor, thus creating a style all his own...Unique, Distinctive, Vocal electronica with a strong pop-crossover appeal.

In his long awaited self-titled release, Evan Cowden continues to pay tribute to his musical roots. From Alison Moyet's Ode to Boy (like never heard before) to Bronski Beats classic pop anthem Smalltown boy, Evan Cowden delivers a dance record with punch! A must have for all true fans of the dance floor!
