THEOPHILUS

My name is Theophilus (Andre Sharpe), translated from biblical text it means lover of God. I Was born in Berkeley California and live in the bay area. I am twenty-seven years old, I grew up in A Baptist church where my father played the organ for the choir. I moved to Santa Rosa and went to a Pentecostal church founded by my grandfather, the late Robert Hall. Even though I spent most of my Sundays in church, I still hung out with the wrong crowd. I was fighting in clubs, and engaging in premarital misconduct. The consequences of my life style caught up to me, and I caught a six year bid for shooting my way out of a Halloween party in 1992. I was nineteen when I served three to six years in prison. During that time God ministered to me. Awakening that which I had left dormant on the front steps of my grandfathers church. I spent most of my time with O.G.'s and lifer's who found God or acquired a positive way of thinking. Before going to prison I was well known through out Santa Rosa for my rapping, it was considered a sure thing that I was going to the top. When I was released from prison I wanted to show God my appreciation for his mercy and grace by sharing what I have learned and what he has done for me through writing and rhyming the truth of the gospel. I flow the gospel over beats that our youth can feel. The lyrics reflect practical situations, and offer biblical answers by encouraging them to live for the lord. I want to bring a message of truth, peace and the joy that comes with a relationship with Jesus Christ. I offer this with music our young people can feel and lyrics they can relate to. With prayer, hard work and many hands working together, this music ministry can change lives.

I am a husband of five years and a father of three beautiful children. I love to minister gospel music in gatherings large and small. I have had the pleasure of participating in a variety of concerts through out the Bay Area one being the Sacramento Convention Center which held 3000 youths and Paradise found in Santa Rosa. Even secular events such as dance clubs where crowd communication is critical. I wish to expand this ministry further To draw more of our young people to Christ.
