Despite millions of album sales, 'N Sync are an obvious No. 2 to label mates the Backstreet Boys. Fittingly, they try harder--too hard, in fact--through most of their second non-Christmas disc, No Strings Attached. The quintet and Strings' dozen-plus producers fill these 47 minutes with bland ballads by Diane Warren and Richard Marx, mildly funky workouts like a cover of Johnny Kemp's "Just Got Paid" and the muddled "Space Cowboy," and gimmicks such as "Digital Get Down" that hardly lend credence to whatever career-longevity claims they might want to lodge. This is a guaranteed smash, but judged on the merits of its weak material and less than compelling vocal performances, No Strings Attached should be long forgotten by the time the Backstreeters' next CD arrives. --Rickey Wright

1 out of 5 stars I'm feeling dangerous!.......2007-06-18

Today, I decided to release the inner masochist in me. I tortured myself with the small pile of CDs I accumulated during the bubblegum pop explosion nearly a decade ago. What a wake up call! What were we thinking? It's just embarrassing! This is easily the most insipid, uninspired, generic, ludicrous, manufactured [...]that has been perpetrated on record buyers in recent memory. Ugggg!

1 out of 5 stars HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......2007-05-27

This music and band (I use that word loosly..to be a band they have to write their own music and play instruments....nuff said) is manufactured garbage...nothing more....NEXT!!!

1 out of 5 stars I don't own this CD........2006-12-31

I bought this through Amazon for my older daughter when it first came out. She tired of it after a year. Currently, it is one of the dog's frisbee's.

5 out of 5 stars I promise.......2006-11-04

This CD is in good condition when I received and nothing damaged or broken. I'm very happy with this purchase. Thank you.

4 out of 5 stars Not as Accomplished as their First.......2006-09-28

This album is not ghastly, but it is not as good as their first CD. It somehow does not feel very innovative. It's sounds like they just tried to emulate some of their earlier hits and see what direction they took. I think this is a result of changing recording companies. They should never have left. I just wondered how much longer they would stay together when I first listened to this CD. Now we all know.

Yes, it's another group of five young white boys making dance-influenced pop that makes the girls scream. Not only is the makeup of this group familiar, their sound is almost a clone of fellow teenybopper dreams the Backstreet Boys. It's probably not surprising, considering that they share the same manager (who had all five members of '80s preteen scream machine New Kids on the Block as the best men at his wedding, natch). The resemblance is a little too close for comfort, however, with almost every track here mirroring one on the Backstreet Boys album. From the radio hit "I Want You Back" and the sugary harmonizing on ballads like "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" to the one step forward, two steps back approach to sex appeal on "Giddy Up," 'N Sync--or their producers--have crafted the perfect balance of catchy pop ditties and swoon-inducing slow jams. --Rebecca Wallwork

5 out of 5 stars NSYNC's self-titled album... THEIR BEST EVER!!!!!.......2007-02-02

While I really don't care for NSYNC... actually, I take that back, I don't even LIKE them anymore... this album is actually a guilty pleasure. I was planning on selling this one but then I thought, this is one of the very first albums I've ever gotten... I love it! No way was I going to sell this. I may sell No Strings Attached, but this one is staying in my collection forever. Wouldn't you do the same thing if this was one of your first CDs even though you didn't like the group anymore? I know I would. I know NSYNC is all said and done with, but I just can't put this album down! Although I do like the backstreet boys a lot better than NSYNC though, this is really a guilty pleasure. I recommend this even if you are not an NSYNC fan.

3 out of 5 stars "How cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!!" LOL.......2006-10-05

Back in the 90s when I was in my early teens, I was never a fan of NSYNC, mainly because they were designed to make the girls squeal, and I wasn't a girl :) But looking back at that time from today, it makes me remember just how CUTE NSYNC's fans were. They would all giggle and squeal over them and had pictures of trheir favourite NSYNCer up on their locker doors and bedroom walls. And whenever they talked about the group, they'd do it in high pitched squealy giggles.

"OOOOOOOoooohhhh I loooooooooooove Justin! He's sooooooooooo cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!! I'm gonna marry him some day! *squeal squeal squeal*

Those squealy NSYNC fans taught me that girls are precious and to appreciate how cute they are! Those squealy girls were really "cuuuuuute!" *squeal squeal*

4 out of 5 stars A Decent Album.......2006-04-30

The first album released by NSYNC is probably the better of the two big ones. A lot more harmonies than hip-hop/rap, plus a little something more. Good for the occasional play in the shuffle, but I couldn't listen to the album in its entirety.

2 out of 5 stars Did this really come out in 1998? It sounds so freaking OLD!.......2006-03-08

I really doubt that anybody listens to this lousy group anymore. This CD sounds ancient and dated only a few years after its release. Those computerized drum machines and sound effects were trendy and hip in 1998, but now they have an undeniably "dated" feel to them. So dated in fact, that they wouldn't sound too out of place on an oldies radio station between Elvis Presley and The Beatles. I was born in 1984, which means I was in my early teens when this cr@p came out, and now those memories of thousands of horny 12 year old girls squealing so hard that tears ran down their faces seem so LOOOOOOONNNGG ago now. It really seems like a completely different era. And NSYNC is just an outdated relic of that era. Boy bands are ancient history now, just like The Beatles or Elvis!

Home is the last place these pop-aholics will be at Christmas: 'N Sync were on such a tight touring schedule in 1998, it's a wonder they even had time to record this disc in time for the holidays. The standard carols--"The First Noël," and "The Christmas Song"--aren't nearly as much fun as the original tracks here, but the a cappella version of "O Holy Night" is by far the masterpiece, and proof that the boys are more than just hyper-pretty faces. In fact, their superbly blended harmonies save what could have been ill-fated attempts to put a '90s R&B spin on songs like "In Love on Christmas" and the title track. "The Only Gift" and "Under My Tree" are addictive despite being overly cute, and you'll have a hard time getting "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" out of your head. Keep in mind that Christmas CDs belong in the background, let go of your anti-pop prejudices for just one day, and you'll be bopping along with the boys in no time. --Rebecca Wallwork

Everytime when I'm working at Sears, they always put on the songs in this alblum on and it makes me so sad. Just thinking about how sad this Christmas year is and I miss these songs so much. I used to own this cd but its been a very long time and It suckd that Walmart didnt have it. I'll have to buy this after christmas. its really sad but oh well.

5 out of 5 stars Not Just Another Boy Band.......2006-10-13

NSYNC sets themselves apart from the pack with this one. Their smooth harmonies and absolute talent shines in each song on the album. I love the original songs on the CD, like "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays," "I Guess it's Christmastime," and others, as well as the classic Christmas favorites "The First Noel," and "The Christmas Song." But the highlight of the CD is definitely their amazing a cappella version of "O Holy Night." I would have bought the CD just for that.
I would recommend this CD not only for NSYNC fans, but for anyone looking to add to their Christmas collection. It's definitley worth your money!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome! I love NSYNC.......2005-06-20

I think this debut album from NSYNC is awesome!! It shows great talent. I think people can tell that *NSYNC has something special about them. I think it's partially because of all the long hard dedicated hours they put into their work, and it shows. Another is because they put themselves together. They were all friends before they formed NSYNC. (the one who actually formed *NSYNC was the oldest member: Chris Kirkpatrick.) Justin and JC knew eachother from the MMC, and Chris and Joey were working at Disney,so they all saw eachother and became friends. Lance came from Justin's vocal coach. They have this sort of chemistry that no one else like them has.
This cd has great 5 part harmonies and fun up beat songs!
I definatley recommend this cd! BUY IT!! You won't regret it!

4 out of 5 stars BsB watch out!.......2003-10-20

When the creator of the Backstreet Boys wanted to satrt a new boyband the american record companies dit not want to have a BSB clone they said it wouldnt sell,so remebering that The Beatles once startdet there career in Germany he went overthere and got them a record deal and the guys choce there own name 'NSYNC, the flew allover Europe to record there self titeld debutfrom Sweden to Holland and Germany, the album became instand succses for the Guys and when BMG US heard of the stardom in Europe(most of all Germany and Holland) they desided to release it also in The US with some songs droped from it and a couple of new ones includin "I drive myself Crazy" no one thought they would ever beat the already popular Backstreet Boys but as it turne out the became even bigger, when after a dificulty in 1999 'NSYNC signd a new record deal with JIVE RECORD wich also has BSB under contract they were not happy that there rivals would now be under the same roof and since then every album release from both bands becomes a competion with NSyns always a few steps foreward. But BSB stil remains the best selling boyband worldwide ever! but now Justin is going solo it looks like Michael Jackson has competition because not only girls like his music but guys start to apreciate Timberlake also.

5 out of 5 stars New tracks!.......2002-10-30

I just want to say that I love this cd. even though it contains more of the older stuff that they have done, it still sounds cool. Plus, it has some new tracks that i found the words to, but never knew they existed. so that's cool too.

5 out of 5 stars "Yes, yes, yes, here we go..." (throws tampons at the stage).......2002-07-13

"...Nsync has got the flow!" ... buy this CD solely 4 the awesome acapella "More Than a Feeling," the upbeat "Forevvvvvvver Young" & "Riddle," and don't forget the classic nsync songs on this cd (their 1st ever) as well. I <3 this cd.

4 out of 5 stars Superb album from a tight group!!!.......2002-04-25

'NSYNC - the debut european album from one of the most popular and successful vocal groups in recent years showcases the talents of the five guys of *NSYNC. As many of y'all know 'NSYNC first came into prominence in Europe in the late 1990's and this album clearly shows alot of European influence to the group's sound. I am actually from the United Kingdom and I was first introduced to *NSYNC by my cousins from Germany and Switzerland in 1996, and I purchased this album in 1997.

The instant that it made its way into regular rotation in my music listening it just stuck with me. I would go into school with the melodies of their songs and their harmonies planted in my brain and I couldn't wait to get back home to listen to their songs. There is a really good variety of music on this CD, at a glance the songs that stick out the most are as follows:

"Tearin' Up My Heart" - a longer version which is easier to sing along to since it has more instrumental breaks!!!

"I Want You Back" - their debut single back in '96 which has all of the good points of a great dance pop song: a great beat, pleasant harmonies and an unbelievably catchy chorus!

"Here We Go" - another hot dance pop song which always gets me up and dancing and it reminds me of seeing 'NSYNC on German TV back when they first started!

"For The Girl Who Has Everything" - I can't even begin to describe how much I love this song, JC - what a voice!!! The harmonies, the guitar, the bass...everything about this song just screams perfection. JC has such a great voice throughout this song (especially the second verse!!!)

"Sailing" - Another great vocal performance by JC make this a memorable song on the CD as well as the 5-part vocal arrangement in the middle of the song (to cover the piano solo in the Christopher Cross version!!!)

"Together Again" - This was the 'NSYNC christmas single in europe for 1997 and for me is one of the highlights on the album, the verses are sung by 4 members of the group instead of just JC and Justin. Justin takes the 1st verse, Chris the 2nd and Joey does the 3rd verse (with JC doing some nice overdubs!!!).

"More Than A Feeling" - Very nice take on the Boston classic, almost unidentifiable from the Boston version - would have been better as a full acapella arrangent as the instrumental arrangement is very bare! You also get to hear Joey sing "Closed my eyes and I slipped away" in the 2nd verse!

"Crazy for You", "The Riddle" and "You Got It" (nice middle bit!) are all quite enjoyable uptempo dance songs with nice leads from Justin and JC making them a worthwile listen. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the rather dreadful "I Need Love" and "Forever Young" - how "I Need Love" actually got to be on the US edition is still beyond me!!!

"Best Of My Life" is good but I will agree heartily with the other reviewers who said that it sound too much like "End Of The Road" by Boyz II Men. (Personally I feel that it was their take on "I'll Never Break Your Heart" by the Backstreet Boys - which they admitted was their favourite Backstreet Boys song on a German TV Interview in 1997!!!)

As for "Giddy Up" well it is the most laughable 'NSYNC track ever... what on earth are they on about here? I have never liked this song although it's not as "wack" as "If You Want It To Be Good Girl (Get Yourself A Bad Boy)" by Backstreet Boys - which is 10 times worse!

Anyway, overall this is one tight album and it brings back alot of memories for me, I recommend that you folks that don't have it, whip out your wallets and get purchasing!!!

Peace Out y'all!

5 out of 5 stars Fun Song!.......2003-01-23

"U Drive Me Crazy" is one of those tracks that makes you want to get up dance. It's a shame that this song was not released in the U.S. because it would have been well-received. I would recommend this single to anyone. If you haven't heard it yet, go out and find it. You won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 stars Great song with good remixes.......2002-02-02

I first heard this song on their import The Winter Album back in July of 1999. I immediately LOVED it. Then, I saw the video for it on their pay-per-view concert special, and that had me cracking up, because it's so darn funny.

I absolutely love this song. It's a great song to dance to. It's also got very cute lyrics.

This CD has 4 versions of the song, which is cool. The first is the radio edit, which is really good.

The second version is extended, which makes it have a huge (VERY VERY LONG) intro. Very cool.

The third is a remix. It's really cool. It's got a great beat, and sounds more R&B than pop. (It sounds like Justin talks a little in the background...kind of for a little extra thump)

The fourth is more of a club remix. I mean, it sounds very good, but the keyboards sound kind of funky. The parts of the singing are speeded up a bit, but not too much. (It's not like they sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks.) The guys (it sounds mainly like JC) talk a bit more in it.

I definitely recommend this CD, especially if you are having a party or something like that and need good music to dance to.

5 out of 5 stars These guys drive me crazy!.......2001-05-10

The first time I ever heard this song was when I was watching a concert special on Fox Family from their 1998 US tour. They actually showed the video for it and I immediately fell in love with the song. So I knew that I had to get the single. When I bought this cd I was definitely not disappointed. I love the extended version, the beat is great in the beginning part, and the tunes throughout the song are so phat.As for the other two remixes of it I was really impressed with them. They have a very dance-like club feel to them.If you are a big fan of Nysnc then this is a must have. Buy it and you won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 stars Hip-pop sound in UDMC.......2001-01-20

U Drive Me Crazy is an excellent song. I would recommend it to anyone. It's got great dance beats. It's a little more hip-hop than most of their material, but it's cool to have that kind of an edge. It's definitely not all sugar-coated pop. If you want a great song to dance to or just to play while you're hanging out, U Drive Me Crazy is the song to play!

5 out of 5 stars Best Yet.......2000-07-29

This CD is the BEST CD yet ,although, I know that there will be more CD's yet to come that will top this one!

International pressing of Nsync's Greatest Hits includes four bonus tracks 'Girlfriend' (Cavemen Remix), 'Gone' (Kurtis Mantronik Club Mix), 'Yo Te Voy Amar', 'Gone' (Spanish Version). Also included among their radio singles and hits from their first three albums is the new song `I'll Never Stop'. Nsync's Greatest Hits will take you down memory lane to a time when the boy bands ruled TRL and Justin Timberlake still had curly hair. The interior photos are early 2000's publicity photos and the forward in the booklet is written by Billboard editor Chuck Taylor. This set is a good way to honor Nsync since it appears the group won't be releasing a new studio album again anytime soon--if ever. BMG. 2005.

4 out of 5 stars GREAT CD FOR NSYNC FANS.......2007-05-25

THIS CD IS HALF REGULAR NSYNC MUSIC AND HALF CHRISTMAS MUSIC. I JUST GOT THIS CD AND IT WAS KINDA WEIRD LISTENING TO CHRISTMAS MUSIC IN MAY. THE SONG "I DRIVE MYSELF CRAZY" IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS CD IS AN IMPORT. IT ALSO HAS
"GOD MUST HAVE SPENT A LITLLE MORE TIME ON YOU", AND "I JUST WANNA BE WITH YOU" FROM THERE FIRST CD. THERE'S A FEW SONGS ON THERE NOT RELEASED ON THERE FIRST CD BUT ONCE AGAIN ITS AN IMPORT. ON THE CHRISTMAS END IT HAS THERE SMASH HIT "MERRY CHRISTMAS HAPPY HOLIDAYS". I LOVE THAT SONG ONE OF MY FAVORITES. ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND WROTE IT TOGETHER AND SHOWED THERE FAMILY THERE TRUE HOLIDAY MEANINING. WELL ENOUGH SAID BUY THE CD.

      5 out of 5 stars question...........2001-05-10

ok, i bought this cd somewhere else today (I still love you Amazon!) I had seen this cd before in stores, and i remember having seen family affair right after "I just wanna be with you" in print on the back. The one i just bought has nothing after that song on the back, it just has another song. Since it's really "hidden" does that mean they took it off but it's still there? I have read the replies and it seems it's a musical interlude of some sort. I don't know, I haven't opened the cd yet. If anyone knows what's up, post. :)

      5 out of 5 stars It's worth getting this!.......2001-04-26

First of all I love *nsync and all their music...they are truely amazing! This import CD is well worth it...trust me. "You Drive Me Crazy" is such a hot song and makes you wonder why they never released it here! And "Thinking of you (*I drive myself crazy*)" sounds so great! The way the guitar is in the beging and this version is awesome!

So the moral of the story is....get this CD...it's worth it :-)

      5 out of 5 stars Terrific CD!.......2001-01-14

This is an absolutely great Winter Album. It's got terrific Christmas songs and non-Christmas songs. The non-Christmas songs aren't on the import version of the debut album. U Drive Me Crazy isn't available on any other album. If you want some terrific Christmas music & non-Christmas music, GET THIS CD! (Especially if you're an *NSYNC fan.) You'll never regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Everything About the Winter Album.......2000-11-05

First of all let me say this, I LUV *N SYNC and this CD is really amazing! The first half(6 songs) of this German released CD are anytime and New Year's songs while the other 6 are Christmas songs. Some of the first songs are different versions of the US releases. Scroll down for a quick synopsis of each song. Stay *N SYNC everybody!

U Drive Me Crazy(Radio Edit)- fast song with solo verses by Justin and JC. Kind of like a cross between "I Want You Back" and "Tearin' Up My Heart"

(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time On You- REALLY sweet ballad about how precious your loved one is. Amazing harmonies in this song.

Thinking of You(I Drive Myself Crazy)- Very different from the US release. JC sings the first verse instead of Chris. Really beautiful ballad about missing your love.

Everything I Own- Sorta-slow song, not a ballad, but with ballad type lyrics. Really sweet and about wanting someone back who you let go cause you weren't really thinking. Lance has a speaking part and a little solo part, kinda like in a stack.

I Just Wanna Be With You- Basically the same as the US version, maybe a little longer. Fast song with JC and Justin on the verses.

Kiss Me At Midnight- Fast, party song for New Year's Eve. This song is probably my favorite cause of the great dance beats and the great improv and vocals.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays- The first of the Christmas songs. Fast, cute song about celebrating Christmas. It's cute cause Justin starts laughing while doing improv. In the end you hear all the guys laughing and talking at once to eachother.

All I Want Is You (This Christmas)- Sweet, slow song about not wanting any gifts, just your girlfriend/boyfriend on Christmas. Chris actually sings one of the verses.

Under My Tree- Sweet, not really slow or fast song about just about being with the one you love.

Love's In Our Hearts On Christmas Day- Really sweet, slow song about being away from the one you love on Christmas, but knowing that you will still make it through. Justin and JC do main vocals, mostly Justin though.

In Love On Christmas- Starts out with a cool version of "Jingle Bells." A little different, it might take you a while to get used to. JC and Justin do main vocals with a little harmony by Joey(?) or Chris. This is the longest song on the album at over 4 minutes.

The First Noel- The familer tune with *N SYNC's trademark harmonies that just give you chills. This song is so incredible it made me cry the first few times I heard it. JC and Justin sing the verses. The haromines in this song will supprise you with their beauty even if you are already a huge *N SYNC fan because they are so amazing.

5 out of 5 stars I love this single! And I love NSYNC!.......2003-03-20

This single totally rocks, the remixes rock. I love the Girlfriend neptune remix with Nelly. And there is a Spanish version of their song "Gone" on this single, even though I don't know Spanish I still love it! I recommend that you all get this single!! And another suggestion that I recommend you get their No strings attached album, too! I have that one also and that one is awesome!! I love you Nsync!

      5 out of 5 stars Can't Say Enough!.......2003-01-23

I've been a fan of NSYNC for a few years now and "Girlfriend" (both the original version and remix w/Nelly) is one of the best songs they've ever done! Even though I did not like the cd "Celebrity" all that much, this song was one of the few that really stood out. No matter what people say, the group is talented and can put out some good music, this song being the proof.

      2 out of 5 stars I Got An Idea..........2002-08-02

A commercial single is a rarity now on these shores, and *NSYNC has decided to issue one for their third single from the album "Celebrity". Instead of putting pressure on the fans by tagging the The Neptunes Remix featuring Nelly on to their album, they instead supplied it on this single. The album version and remix are both Neptunes tracks, and the song is not bad, catchy and laid back. Where the band fail to deliver, however, is with the next two tracks. Tweaking previous single "Gone" with a 2-step garage style club mix wasn't a very good move, as the result is horrible. "Gone Clubbin'" is a totally awful reworking of an okay Justin Timberlake led single, which is only made worse with inclusion of a horribly dull Spanish version of the track. Justin's voice on this version grates, and it's always ignored in favor of the single's real draw, the previously mentioned Neptunes Remix with Nelly of Girlfriend. I'm sure this track will be on various compilations sooner or later, so if you really want it, get it then, and skip this and the awful Gone remixes.

      5 out of 5 stars Who Would've Thought?.......2002-08-01

Who would have thought to put the most popular boy band together with a spectacular rapper?! Well, whoever did is VERY smart. This mix really works. It has good beat and makes an already good song (Girlfriend) even better. Nelly's rapping style works well with the pop group and they should collaborate more often.

      3 out of 5 stars Sounds Better w/ Nelly.......2002-05-25

I admit, I'm not a huge fan of *NSYNC, or their song "Girlfriend". However, one day I was listening to the radio when I heard a song that sounded a lot like "Girlfriend"...with a twist. Sure enough this was the remix with Nelly. I actually gave this single three stars because of that remix. Nelly's voice gives a nice flavor to a usually dull *NSYNC song. If you like *NSYNC, Nelly, and the song "Girlfriend" you might enjoy this single with a few remixes particularly the Nelly one.
