Tengo 25 años de edad y desde que recuerdo, siempre he amado la música disco, obviamente no podía faltar en mi colección este impactante CD, sobre todo por lo que representa para mi. En su momento, este niño supo hacerla en grande (gracias a la ayuda de Geraldine Hunt), pero independiente a esto; "Get Up & Boogie" resulta un verdadero agasajo para los amantes de la disco. Este album es de lo mejor de 1979. Gracias a Unidisc por reeditar este material con sus versiones originales 12", ademas de algunos bonus tracks y un medley de los mismos. I must start out with a strange story before I get to my review. When I came back to Kansas city Mo, I remember listening to music alot more and enjoying it as I did a child, and now. But, a trip to Ohio would set my soul for Roger's music on fire even more. Roger Troutman was getting popular with different rap acts because of the constant sampling of his work. Whether it was from "Zapp, or his own work." I had heard one of the versions of this song on a popular Ohio station and called to the station and got the name of the song. I was excited of course and couldn't wait to grab the single and hear how many different mixes were on the tape. I got home and was disapointed. There was just the album version on the cassette. Nooooooooooo! Nooooooooooooooooo! This isn't real! Nooooooooooooooooooo! Of course, I didn't know about Maxi singles on CD at the time and was learning about more music formats growing up. Fast forward to the year 2005. Roger was sadly taken away from us in 1999 by his brother Lary Troutman in a murder shooting. He was sorely missed by yours truly. Hearing one of the mixes on a Kansas city Mo. station one night, I decided to take yet another shot and find the single and of course low and behold, I found it. This is great if you are a big Roger Troutman fan and want to start a Roger Troutman collection. Or, you maybe just adding to the collection as I am trying to do. This features the group, "Epmd." You may remember they're song, "Chill" from 1987 with they're sample of "Zapp's" "More bounce to the ounce." If you want bass? You'll get plenty of it. I wouldn't trade this single in for anything! I have always loved Roger's music growing up and I will continue to do so until I can't breethe anymore. Roger! We miss you man! Thanks for the funk and keep smiling down on us.

Another corker from the Five boys!.......2002-12-31

This song is Five's fourth single, the second to last release from the debut album 'Five'.
It's a brilliant upbeat song, with a catchy, simple chorus. I love the part that Sean does near the end, and the live performance of this song is great!
This single is good, with 3 remixes of the original song, the radio edit and a special exclusive remix of "My Song", which is excellent.
Overall, a good value single which is good if you want to collect all the Five singles (like I did, I have all Five things).

This was such a cool single. I finally get what Scott said about recording a fast version of Everybody Get Up (ppl with enhanced Invincible know what I'm sayin'). So everybody get up and order this and Invincible Import and I promise ya wont regret it!

This was good, only for the first song. Buy it if you really like remixes.

Amazing song, but buy the album instead........2000-06-13

'Everybody Get Up,' off the self-titled Five, is a great song. It contains a sample from Joan Jett's "I Love Rock And Roll." However, the remixes on this single lack. If you like this song, I recomend buying the Five album, rather than this single. By the way, the video for 'Everybody Get Up' is amazing. I guarantee that if you like the song, you'll LOVE the album.

Too many remixes! But "Everybody Get Up" is a good song, and the additional track "My Song" has a great beat and interesting lyrics. It's very hip hip oriented, even more-so than 5ive's other stuff.
