About the Artist
He has been compared to Lionel Richie, Al Jarreau, Luther Vandross and many other giants in the R&B/Pop world. He has shared stages with many hitmakers such as the Village People, Lisa Lisa and Joan Jett and The BlackHeats. He comes from a musical family which includes cousin, Kelly Price. He is...JIMMY ROLAND!

Jimmy began his music career by recording "demos" for various songwriters and producers in the Los Angeles area, which is where the singer is based. He was offered a contract by the founder of indie label SGP Records in Hollywood, CA, and completed a cassette single for the label. During this time, many door were opened for Jimmy Roland. He wrote, hosted and produced his own talk/variety cable tv show, worked and recorded with former members of Three Dog Night, Tony Orlando and Tom Jones' tour bands and most recently, found himself recording and releasing a new Cd "songs from Under The Moonligh" which is currently receiving air and club play. and don't forget to get your copy of "Under The Moonlight".

He sort of always reminded me of Lionel Richie but has his own way of giving us energy. This Cd is as great as I knew it would be. I saw Jimmy Roland last year in concert (the Village People were also there). The audience went crazy when Jimmy began OH Ramona. Great Artist Great Cd.

He has the type of voice that dosen't have to be smothered with heavy production...it stands out on its' own. I just love the opening track "Oh! Ramona. I must have played this track 10 times before I passed out from dancing too much. I saw Jimmy Roland in concert do this song and it was an awesome sight to see the stage go up in smoke during "Ramona". The other two tracks that I think are hit potential are MY Jamaica and Broken Hearts. The lyrics in My Jamaica really hit home as I recently went through what Jimmy wrote about in this song. Jamaica also has a great dance groove to it. "Broken Hearts" I listen to often. It's simply one of those love ballads that makes the hair on your arms stand straight up...just beautiful. I'm glad that this cd was finally released. I actually have two copies, one for my car (sounds even better in my car, the only bad thig is, I can't dance and drive). I totally reccommend this Under The Moonlight Cd for your collection. Marc McGindley.
