Caryn Wunderlich Gott is a harpist in Las Vegas. She has played for over 100 stars in Las Vegas showrooms, such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., Steve and Edie, the Jerry Lewis Telethon, and Luciano Pavarotti. Accomplished in all musical styles, she was a winner in the International Pop and Jazz Competition at the Boston Conservatory, and plays with her own Jazz Harp Trio and Quartet. She also played principal harp in the Nevada Symphony Orchestra from its inception in 1980. She taught harp at UNLV for 20 years. She teaches private students as well, and founded the Southern Nevada Harp Ensemble that features her own students. She is a principle in Southern Nevada Music Company, which is a dealer for Lyon Healy and Salvi Harps.
Caryn began her musical training on piano and flute. She studied flute with Bernard Goldberg of the Pittsburg Symphony. She then began her study of harp with Phyllis Susan at Duquesne University, where she earned her Bachelor Of Arts in Music Education. She continued her harp studies with Gretchen VanHoesen, principle harpist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She also has coached on jazz harp with Carroll McLaughlin at the University of Arizona.
Michelle Gott is a straight "A" honors student at Green Valley High School, where she was chosen as the 2001 representative for the Nevada Hugh OBrian Leadership Conference, held at UNLV. Michelle began piano lessons before age three and the study of harp at age four with her mother, Caryn Wunderlich-Gott , a professional harpist in Las Vegas. She has played a wide variety of solo and ensemble classical, popular and jazz music, including performances with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Henderson Civic Symphony. Michelle was featured this year as harp soloist with the Green Valley High School Symphony Orchestra playing a jazz orchestral arrangement of Stairway to Heaven. During the summer of 2001, she also studied harp and piano at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, where on audition, she won principal chair in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra.
A talented classical pianist as well, Michelle was a winner in the 2000 concerto competition at the Community College of Southern Nevada, playing Kabalevskys Piano Concerto. Michelle stuideid classical ballet for eight years and sings in the Green Vally High School Madrigals and concert choir. She placed first in the 2000 Nevada All State Choir Competition and was selected as soprano section leader for their annual concert held at UNLV. She looks forward to entering her junior year at Green Valley High School this fall.
