RAY FOGG (RockGod4u@aol.com). "The Island men think I'm cool and their women want to do me," sings the self proclaimed "Island Rock God," Ray Fogg, his tongue so firmly in his cheek he can barely get the words out!

Sweetwater Records' recording artist Ray Fogg has become a favorite of the islanders and tourists alike at Put-in-Bay, the popular Lake Erie party island resort. He performs there regularly from April through October. During the off season he limits his appearances to a handful of special concerts which draw enthusiastic fans hungry for their winter-time Ray Fogg fix.

Fogg has enjoyed the success of three CD's with his band the Swingin' Lesbian Frogs, entitled, Waves in 1998, Kiss My Bass in 1999 and I'm Busy in 2001. Waves features many of Fogg's heartfelt songs about the islands. Kiss My Bass features many of the humorous and raunchy songs which have become popular at Ray's live Put-in-Bay shows such as the title track, "Kiss My Bass", "Hypothetically Speaking" and "Aunt Bea". Some of these songs may not be the most politically correct songs, but they're funny as hell!! I'm Busy offers a little of both styles with nice songs like "The Moon Song," but still sporting some titles like "This Guy Don't Suck!"

The credits on the CD's are impressive, beginning with the producer Kevin Raleigh who enjoyed success in the 1980's and early 1990's as a singer, musician and songwriter. His hit songs included his Atlantic Records release "Moonlight On Water" as well as his earlier hits with the Michael Stanley Band such as "He Can't Love You". The Swingin' Lesbian Frogs are comprised of first rate musicians Frank Romano on guitar from New York (who recently played on Jennifer Lopez's CD), Mike Crow on bass from Ohio and Richard Carpenter on drums from New Jersey.

The title alone epitomizes what island life is all about . . . and those who are lucky enough to get to the island of which Ray Fogg writes, Put-in-Bay, Ohio, know all too well that a weekend excursion is for leaving your cares behind and having a good time. If you are familiar with Ray's previous CD releases, "Waves" and "Kiss My Bass", you know that he sings eloquently of island life . . . you can almost be there without every having been there! . . . and Ray most certainly stirs things up with those lyrics intended for adult listeners only! This third CD gives the listener a pleasing combination of Ray's sentimental island music, his trademark adult humor lyrics, and a sprinkling of romance. There is hardly a listener who cannot relate to Daisy, The Moon Song, or who wouldn't want to have that special someone with whom to go Walkin'. Little Girl is a surprising and moving lullabye . . . who would have guessed? And when listening to Quartering Seas or Great Big Letters, one cannot help but reflect on their own life's lessons learned from someone older and wiser. Ray, you have certainly done it again, I believe your best work yet.

Super collection of Elgar's major works.......2004-06-28

Most compilations of composers works usually only feature, at best, maybe one or two works in recordings that are of outstanding quality, especially if different artists are featured. Such is absolutely not the case with this collection, one of the finest of its sort ever issued.

This box makes a perfect one stop shopping choice for the major, most-well-known works the British composer Sir Edward Elgar. The title is misleading though. The box, on 8 CDs at an incredible price, contains both Orchestral AND Choral works.
