This is her second Solosingle. She shows us again that she is better without the Spice Girls. It's again a Partysong with a Latin-Flair. (If this word doesn't exist yet I've just invented it)
The Bonustracks are not on the Album. "G A Y" is one of the best songs she ever did. It's great for dancing and it reminds me of "Scream if you wanna go faster". "Summertime" is very strange. It has strange Lyrics and the melody is also strange. But i liked it after hearing it for a few times.

I really like Geri Halliwell but this single does not really reflect her best work.
1. Mi Chico Latino--Good song!
2. G.A.Y.--This is the exact same type of sound that 'getting better' and 'destiny' have(the b-sides to 'calling'). To make a long commentary short--It didnt make the album for a reason.
3. Summertime--Lyrically confusing although its nice to hear the different sound it has to it.
4. Video--Its just ok.
After owning 7 of Geri's singles I have to say that 2 of them are worth keeping and Her albums are outstanding so.....thats that.

Surprising.......2000-08-16

Okay so Geri Halliwell; like most of her ex-bandmates the Spice Girls; doesn't have the strongest voice or profond lyrics to change the world. That is not her point,or the Spice Girls point for that matter,She just wants people to have a good time with her music and with this single it would be hard not to. "Mi Chico Latino" is a latin song that you can't help to hum and shake to. The B-Sides "G.A.Y." and "Summertime" show her range to great disco-like music to A song that suits her seductive,raspy voice. Will Geri Halliwell as a solo artist ever reach the heights she did when she was Ginger? I don't know but she probably will have a Great time trying and if she keeps making Good POP music like this, we probably would love to keep dancing to her sound.

Better Than You'd Expect.......2000-07-12

The only reason to get this CD is for the song G.A.Y -- which I'm guessing is inspired by the Astoria Theater in London which hosts G.A.Y. This song should have been on her album and should have been the first single. It's irresistable and surpasses anything this Spice Girls ever could have dreamed up. BTW, G.A.Y -- both the club and song -- mean Good As You!

Latina Spice?.......2000-06-11

This first single of Mi Chico Latino blows the roof compared to Geri's first singles of Look At Me. G.A.Y., hence the name does not mean what everyone probably thought it did in the beginning. In the song, filled with disco like beats, the words "Good As You" are repeated so I'm guessing that's that Geri is referring as G.A.Y. This song is probably the best B-side she has produced so far. It's a very disco-like song with awesome lyrics. Summertime is a haunted song, a song that you could see yourself listening to on a movie such a Scream, when the police enter the house and see the people lying on the floor in a pool of blood. It's a song that is beautiful in it's own way. It talks a lot about being in the ocean, which goes along a lot with the Mi Chico Latino music video. This is the better single of the two singles!

Very Cool Remixes.......2000-08-08

Here is Geri's second UK Single and her very first solo number one! There's a reason for that, you know?

Mi Chico Latino is the latin-flavored track that you can't help but sing along to, and is so catchy, that after awhile, you realize you've even gotten the latin rap part down.

The Junior Vasquez Mix is very cool and dancey. The only downside is, it's only the 6-minute version and not the full 9-minute remix. But it is still very cool and danceable. The best mix on the CD.

The Charlie Rapino 12" Mix may well be the worst Geri remix yet. It's very motonous, boring, and it's very poorly edited. Geri should have definitely left this one on the shelves (and perhaps put the 9-minute Jr. Mix, eh?)

The CoCo Club Mix is very cool and tropical feeling. It starts off with lusty moans, and Geri's sizzling vocals only intensify this hot remix. Only second best to the Junior mix, but has a totally different feeling all its own.

The Only Spice With Latin Flavour.......2000-06-11

This single is the single in which you will find the remixes. The Junior Vasquez Main Pass Edit is by far the best remix on the single, it's a dance song, definately a song that when you close your eyes, you can see yourself out on the dance floor dancing yourself away with the sexiest latin girl. It's got a great beat, and has the Spanish interlude. The Bass Guitar is really good in here. The Charlie Papino 12" Version is a remix that basically just repeats itself, but adds new background music each time the lyrics are repeated. This remix, Geri's lyrics are repeated in rhythm with each with a little "latin" sounding trumpet, not exactly, in my opinion, a good remix. Claudio Coccoluto The Coco Club Mix, is a sexual remix, that is not fit for my liking, it's a slower remix. It's got the Latin drum beats and marracas as well...however I think it's a little too sexual for my liking. However if you're a Geri fan..the first remix is probably one you would love!

She's not so goood........1999-11-26

I think she does not have a powerfull or beautifull voice,and I mean she's good as a celebrity but her voice is very poor.

The Spice That Was Said To Have No Spice.......1999-10-31

Geri Halliwell has proved herself worthy from the other Spice Girls. She has proved both Melanie C, and newly wedded Melanie G incorrect. They both had said "Geri never could sing, and her voice was always awful. People only looked at her chest." Geri now has hit countries all over the world proving that the Spice Girls' comments were false. And this song Mi Chico Latino hit #1 on UK music charts...so eat that Spice Girls! GO GERI HALLIWELL!!

This song getting #1 was brilliant and well deserved victory for Geri. It is not in fact her best song (out of the 10 songs on Schizophonic it ranks in my charts only above 'Look At Me',and possibly the slightly uncertain 'lift Me Up'. I would have preffered 'Walkaway' or the touching 'Someones Watching Over Me'. Still it is a good song and Geri correctly judged the market. It was immensely gratifying to see her trounce the opposition. Apparently Ginger has come home to roost eh? The anti fans in paticular seem distressed. The music fan from Germany rather amusingly echos Chameberilns "Missed the bus" speech and it's aftermath when(s)he petulantly complains about Geri being "behind the trend". "Behind the trend yourself"!! Best wishes Geri from your loyal fan. Yours ~Ross

Mi Chico Latino is an excellent song, and my favorite song from the CD it is taken from "Schizophonic." Not only is the song great, but the CD single is even better. The CD single comes with two aditional track that are not on "Schizohponic." The two new songs are "Good As You" and "Summertime." Plus on the CD single there are three remixes (if you buy both Part One And Two) and an interactive eliment for your computer. Definently buy this single...
