Singer/Songwriter Connects Original Music to the Art of Norman Rockwell
May 9, 2005: Tragic Poet Records, with offices in Connecticut and New York City, is pleased to announce the CD release of "All the Colors of the World", Music Inspired By the Paintings of Norman Rockwell by Steve Vozzolo.
From the opening song of this album you will know you are hearing something very special. This concept album has it's own unique identity. The high quality of the songwriting and the musical performances "connect" with the paintings of America's most beloved artist, Norman Rockwell, in a magical way. Every time you listen you will discover a new favorite song. Steve Vozzolo, a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, has captured the spirit of Norman Rockwell's paintings and produced an "Adult Contemporary" album that will stand on its own for years to come. This CD is destined to become a classic.
The CD includes a beautifully designed, full color, 12 page booklet with song lyrics and images of 21 Norman Rockwell paintings.
World class studio musicians are featured on the CD: Jeff Pevar (CPR, Crosby, Stills & Nash/James Taylor/Ray Charles, etc...) arranged some of the music and plays electric guitar and much more. Leah Kunkel (James Taylor/Art Garfunkel/Coyote Sisters, Leah Kunkel is Mama Cass' sister!!) sang backing vocal on track one.
Bill Holloman (Nile Rogers/The Gatlin Brothers) plays all of the horns and wrote all of the horn and vocal arrangements. All of the studio musicians and backing vocal singers have enhanced the recording with top quality performances.
Arlo Guthrie had previously recorded one of the songs, "Norman Always Knew", on his label Rising Son Records.Tragic Poets Records has also announced that there are plans, in the early stages, to co-produce a live, multi-media stage show including the music from the CD, "All the Colors of the World". The plan includes an original script, a narrator, actors and a video presentation of Rockwell's paintings reproduced on a giant screen. A spokesman from Tragic Poet Records said, "We envision the Norman Rockwell images morphing into scenes of people in real life settings, nature scenes, various places of interest, and also including poignant historical footage relevant to the world today. Besides the live theatrical presentation, the production ideas include producing a very evocative and creative video with the music as part of the sound track. The production, as conceptualized, would be effective and appropriate for PBS as well as for the production of a commercially marketed DVD".
Tragic Poet Records has also announced that there are plans, in the early stages, to co-publish a "Norman Rockwell art book" to be marketed as a "companion" with the CD, "All the Colors of the World", Music Inspired By the Paintings of Norman Rockwell by Steve Vozzolo.

A quote from Steve Vozzolo: "Connecting art and music is something that always seemed quite natural to me. As a songwriter, one of my goals and objectives when writing lyrics is to create images and pictures in the listener's mind... To give the listener the opportunity to place themselves inside the music and create their own "three minute movie". I have always been influenced and inspired by the visual arts. I use art as a catalyst, a starting point, a spark of inspiration, to write music that connects to the art on different levels. I don't limit myself to just describing the painting. I take a significant amount of artistic and poetic license while writing the music."
This concept album has the potential to be the "perfect soundtrack" for a live, multi-media stage presentation. Each song has it's own unique contemporary quality, while connecting to the Norman Rockwell paintings in a magical way. This is music that will leave a lasting impression and deeply affect the listener.
"All the Colors of the World" is destined to become a classic album.
