Do not buy this CD if you want the original versions of the songs listed. 'All selections are new stereo recordings...' reads the fine print on the back of the CD. Do not make the same online mistake that I made!

NOT REAL- STAY AWAY.......2001-10-02

Do not buy this CD. The vast majority of the songs on here are NOT the original recordings. They are poor re-records made by the groups years after their primes in poor recording quality and often with pickup bands. Most of the groups have maybe one or two original members. The stars were mostly down and out when they recorded these and sing with little passion. There is not even the care or the enthusiasm you would get if you caught one of these artists' current live shows. The few original recordings here are available in better company and sound quality on other anthologies.

In general it's a good idea to be wary of CDs from the Madacy company. There are a couple of quality packages but mostly there's junk like this. ORIGINAL HITS BY THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS DOES NOT ALWAYS TRANSLATE INTO THE ORIGINAL HIT RECORDINGS. When you're buying oldies CDs look for stuff from the original master tapes. Also check out the liner information and find out on what record label your favorite recorded.

Wonderful music for 60's lovers.......2000-12-30

I listened to this cd over and over again the first day I baught it. It became my favorite cd because it had all of the popular 60-s artists on in. It is a wonderful cd, and i reccomend it to everyone.
