4 out of 5 stars Another Hottt One From CMR!.......2007-05-01

What we have here is a nice hip hop set from the latest addition to the CMR unit...Everyday Process. What really makes this one a keeper is that:(1)Jesus is represented in each joint...you're never lost in the wind as to whom they're referrin' to as the Way, Truth, and Life when they spit and (2)They're not mimickin' their CMR labelmates/peers the way Wu-Tang proteges were back in the day. I have to admit though, at first listen, I was agreein' with some of the other posts that were givin' em 3 stars. While the Intro was becomin' of a new addition to the CMR camp, to me, the lyrics/delivery could've used a little more polishin' and the album didn't really pick up for me until tracks 5-19.Everything from that point on is crisp, clean, Christ-centered, and apt to blowin' the speakers out if you're not careful. My personal fav's are #5-7,9-10,and 13-17. I was feelin' the cypha...but I prefer the cyphas from the older CM releases to this one. Everything CMR has stood for is in the formula behind EP's debut. Look forward to hearin' alot more from these brothers in the future.

I love this album and have not been able to take it out of the cd player yet. I think the beats are on point. The sound is gritty underground east coast sound. My favorite tracks are Resist the System, Grace, and Shine Bright. If you love true hip hop you will love this album and as with every CMR album the Lord is upfront and center no compromise on the message or the quality of sound. God Bless Everyday Process and the rest of the CM family to keep doing their thing.

3 out of 5 stars Maybe Its Just Not My Style.......2007-03-26

This album gets at least 3 stars off the bat because like every CMR artist or group they bring Christ front and center. However I really thought the flow was sloppy and the beats were offsetting, they didnt really go together. I thought half the songs were under par and the other half was ok. The only song that I really liked was the last one with Flame, Ambassador, Lecrae, Phanatik, and R-Swift. That song was more along the line of my style and taste. Again leading me to believe that Everyday Process is just not my style. But hey Im not shelvin it, I will give it another listen, like I said half was ok and Im sure it will grow on me. If it doesnt though, this might be the first CMR album I sell back.

5 out of 5 stars Yo Son this album is Crakkk!.......2007-03-24

Yo this album right here is hotter than hot fam. I mean it's so gritty I know the burbs and the Hood dudes goan feel this. As they expound on Biblical Truth in such a way. Where the Un-Regenerate (meaning: Not Saved) listener who loves Hip Hop and has never stepped one foot in the church. Can sit and listen to this album and they would have to make a decision to except Jesus Christ as there LORD and Savior. There's no way in the world you can listen to this album and not make a clear cut decision on inviting the LORD Jesus Christ into your Heart by the end of this album. There Just No way, That's How Gritty and Real it truly is. So get the Album and Remember "Holiness First till we under the earth" That's Bangin.

4 out of 5 stars Lojique does it again! Check it!.......2004-10-04

I've followed lojique for a few years, and Language Arts is one of my all time favorite albums. When I heard that Othello left to pursue his solo career I was pretty bummed. I saw Lojique live a few time after that, and it was good, but still- no Othello. This album was a complete surprise however. Nickels is one of the most innovative producers and his beats on this album are incredible as always. The real surprise though, was the emcee, Page One. He holds it down by himself on the mic and does so with authority. Heartfelt lyrics, crazy rhymes, and Page's unique signature flow. Mad props to Page One and the crew! Check this album out, don't expect Language Arts, but check it out.

    Album Description

This collection of twelve original songs highlights Andy LaVerne's prowess as a composer and virtuosity as a jazz pianist. With the mood ranging from introspective to festive, the tracks illuminate the depth of talent of LaVerne, one of the great jazz educators on the scene today. Surrounded by an all-star cast, LaVerne shines like never before. Defying rigid classification, this eclectic blend of music ranges from traditional straight-ahead jazz, to modern jazz, to jazz-pop with Kevin Mahogany singing the award-winning 'Shania' on the only vocal track. This much anticipated CD will not disappoint even the most discriminating jazz listener.

    Customer Reviews:

    5 out of 5 stars A Jazz Masterwork.......2004-07-15

Pianist Andy LaVerne must be one of the most prolific of contemporary jazz composers. He is certainly among the most gifted. Many of us became fans when we heard his tunes "Sabra" and "Chappaqua" written for Stan Getz when Andy was a member of Stan's quartet of the late 1970s. A collection of original compositions, the "Process of Illumination" CD demonstrates that twenty-five years later Andy is producing work of even greater richness.
One is struck by the variety of moods of the twelve tunes on this recording. On the one hand, there are several intense medium and up tempo quartet burners as "Walking on the Moon," "There is No There There," "Subject to Change," and the album's title tune. On the other hand, another quartet tune, "Anticipointment," is a study in harmonic color over a Latin pulse. Despite the subtle irony of its title, "Good Luck With Your Music," performed by the trio, has a sunny optimism and a melody you'll find yourself humming. The gorgeous trio ballad "Gone Forever" with its bittersweet melody and wonderful inner voice movement has a darker cast. (No irony here!) "Subject to Change" begins slowly with a yearning melodic line that rises and falls with gathering intensity and follows with improvisations of similarly shifting emotions. "Bilbao" with its catchy melodic line offers another platform for outstanding solos by Andy and Gary Campbell. The lilting waltz "A Loan to Gather" evokes thoughts of Bill Evans, Earl Zindars, and Frederic Chopin. A special treat is "Shania," (a John Lennon songwriting contest award winner) featuring a vocal performance by Kevin Mahogany and compositional hooks worthy of a pop tune. The album closes with "Remembered Time / Before We Go," a solo piano conversation with Andy's teacher and friend, Bill Evans. The composition begins and ends with a line Bill Evans played on his tune "Time Remembered." Inside this frame Andy inserts his own pensive improvisation on his tune "Before We Go."
I must say something about the outstanding playing on this album. Andy is a pianist of breathtaking virtuosity. His lines sparkle and dance, effortlessly moving over bar lines with shifting rhythmic emphasis. At times his touch is chiffon; at others molton lava. Gary Campbell is a perfect interpreter of the shifting moods of Andy's compositions. Gary has mastered the vocabulary of modern tenor sax playing with a tone that has a burnished beauty all his own. And who could be a better choice for the percussion chair than the incredible Danny Gottlieb? His work with bassist Mark Neuenschwander and percussionist Beth Gottlieb is nothing short of perfect here.
Finally, one must put in a plug for Amazon. It may be difficult to find this CD in your local media store. You really should check out this incredible piece of work, and since you've already logged on to Amazon's web site, why don't you put it in your shopping basket right now.
