O.K. It could have been good... but they missed the mark. It has everthing... but it just doesn't hit the spot.... you know what I mean??

buy it if you must, if you are bored...as I did.... or if you have too much money. Dummy.

Actually Dummy is a better album... buy that one. by Portishead.

I stopped listening to dance music completely years ago and still rock this disc whenever I want to be reminded that it wasn't all just one long bad dream. unstoppable.

Too "safe" of a mix for a real DJ..........2002-03-22

I heard soundclips from this and other David Alvarado releases, at first listen they sound amazing, but if you want to hear the album in its entirety as a DJ should present it, then this does not make the cut. There was no evidence that it was mixed by a human being, too clean for my taste. DJ Spinna's mix of the Guidance catalogue is THE album to check to appreciate the Guidance sound.

Smooth and sweeeeet..........2002-02-21

although I would've appreciated a couple of more tracks thrown into the mix, Mr. Alvarado's cute tips on traveling (included in the leaflet) made it worthwhile....

2 for 2 with David Alvarado.......2001-04-05

This is the second CD I've purchased for this artist. This is also his best work so far. United DJs of America vol 15 was very good, but this title is better. I imagine both will get lots of play time in my car.... anyway... This CD is equally as deep as United DJs but this one is a bit more funky. If you were housin' it on the dancefloor you'd be forced to pound your feet, the beats are thumping so hard. "Stay The Night" really gets the beat pounding and "Spirit of the Black Ghost" follows for a very nice one/two punch combo. Later on in the mix you get "Happiness" and It's Getting Bigger" for another deep combo. This isn't to take away from the other cuts on this cd because they're all quality House. The mix flows nicely and the beats are all thumping good. You won't need to skip any of the tracks in this CD.

And that's what its all about it this cd. deep funky house grooves with a 70's feel. Amazing tracks "Don't worry about me."

Fanstastic house...great track selection...light on top and takes a deep dive...get ready to move when you spin this disc. Great for late nights, one of my faves. I put this up there with Kevin Yost's best, and that should say it all...enjoy!

Exellent House music. Extremely funky and deep, guaranteed to make you want to dance and lift your spirits. Very well put together with a reminiscence of 70ish funk and modern soulfull house. This is one of my best house cds and I am waiting for some more projects to put out from this kid who is from Chy-town. Dont wait, just buy it...

I'm sorry to say the Midnight Express series has nothing that would even allow me to listen to these straight through. For a more interesting listen mixed by a real dj, check out DJ Spinna's "Raiding The Crates"- he does the Guidance catalog some good. and to the Guidance staff: excellent job on the A&R ing, but get real Dj's to mix your sound not some fat dude w/ a goatee and pony tail sitting behind a computer, programming tracks.... watch out he's gonna spill his Diet Coke all over the mixing board!
