I absolutely loved the movie, and the soundtrack is just as good. It makes you want to sing along as you are driving, even my kids like it. Its well worth the money.

Looking for a song .......2005-06-30

Ok maybe it's me, but some of the coolest "tunage" can be found in the oddest places on movies. In this case, it's the snippit that's playing when you click on the special features option of the DVD. It's a nice beat, good music, and I have no idea how to research it. If anyone had heard this and knows what it is, please email me at gotalotaluv@aol.com. Thanks!

I love this soundtrack! I didn't know who Sarah Mclachlan was until I saw the movie and here I am wanting to buy all her albums! What the heck have I been doing all these years missing this great voice and here's more: why on earth haven't they put her on the soundtrack?! I guess we'll never know. The rest of the album is really good as well. Faithless are just great. I'm really starting to love this band. I love the song Remember Me. Lovely cover by U2! Just enjoy!

I appreciate your help on finding song titles. However many of the songs such as the hailstorm and the balcony songs are insturmentals and are not on the cd. So i was wondering if anyone knew if they sold the insturmental parts on a separate cd like some movies do. IF not does anyone else know where to find the songs?

Light Years Ahead With Basic Studio Equipment.......2007-05-24

If you like any Tribe albums, De La Soul, Blacksheep, Blackalicious, Jurrasic 5, and so on. This album by the JB's starts all that style in my opinion. This was back when sampling loops still was legal but this album was digging in some deep crates. It would be nice to hear it remastered but you got to appreciate the lo fi quality especially in the boom bap parts. Back when I first heard it honestly I didn't know what to make of it, there were some songs here and there I liked but it was still very different for my taste. Years later I started peeping it again and it made much more sense to me. Its like listening to any Kenny G album and then checking out some John Coltrane you might get lost. Pick up a copy check it out then wait and check it again , I think you'll dig it.

GREAT ALBUM, BUT SOMETHING ABOUT IT LOSES ME.......2006-12-29

now this album i cannot get a fix on. for some reason, i become lost when i listen to it. it does not have the ooomph of the first one. however, there are still some great joints on here. i would rather nod my head to this on a stranded island than go to sleep and probably drown trying to "walk it out". seasons change i guess. still, the jbs got off on this.

My first introduction to the JB's....................2006-09-23

One of my homies from the 10th grade slipped me this tape back in 89. Now these brothers were definitely alternative rap, but still dope. I will say that they were the least accessible of the Native Tongues crew. I would call them the Afrocentric Run DMC. Anyways, my favorite cuts are Black Woman ( Loved the ode to the Black Woman), Days to Come, Doin Our Own Thing( Monie Love and De La rocked it), What U Waitin 4 and Belly Dancin Dina.
I think 50 Cent's manager Chris Lighty was part of the JB's -They called him Baby Chris. This group paved the way for groups like Arrested Development.

Classic Gem.......2005-10-06

Yeah, Jungle Brothers put together a classic hip hop album with 'Done By the Forces of Nature'....I love this album still after so many years...To me, its one of the most accessible "old-school" hip hop albums ever....

THe beats are all on point...My fav track is "u make me sweat" --its a very upbeat track w/ bounce....The lyrics are all on point....Topics range from adolescent love, lust, girls, afrocentricity, love of thyself, family, culture, politics, and just straight up partying.....They approach every topic head on in a very creative way....

My two fav tracks are "belly dancin dina" and "u make me sweat"...Pick up this album, and you gota piece of hip hop history...

Essential Native Tongue recording.......2005-02-04

If you loved albums like De La Soul's "3 Feet High & Rising" and A Tribe Called Quest's "People's Instinctive Travels & The Paths of Rhythms," don't stop there! You need this album too! This one gives off many of those same vibes, and some may consider this to be better than those debut albums. The Jungle Brothers actually preceded De La and the Tribe on their 1988 debut "Straight Out The Jungle."
The Jungle Brothers were easily the most afrocentric members of the Native Tongues. That's their specialty displayed here, but they make the jams fun and creatively go off-topic here and there. The production on this is solid to very good, especially for the late-80's, mostly upbeat and playful to relaxing. Mike G. and Afrika(Baby Bam) weren't no Posdnous' or Q-Tips on the mic, but they were more than capable and above-average. They drop knowledge and love all over this album.
My favorite track here was the amazing and relaxing "Sunshine." Also remarkable was the Native Tongue posse cut "Doin' Our Own Dang." A great song, great verses by Q-Tip, Posdnous, Trugoy(Dave), and Monie Love, and a song every Hiphop head needs to hear! An classic late-80's jam. Other standouts are the title track(love that flute and sax!) and the spiritual "In The Days 2 Come." Actually every song on here is important, nothing I can refute. They throw in a couple club tracks, "What U Waitin' 4" and "U Make Me Sweat," that are actually stellar, especially the former. Listen to club tracks from today, then go back and listen to these two. You shall notice a big difference in quality! Other great tracks on this album are "Feelin' Alright," the intelligent and empowering "Acknowledge Your Own History," "Beeds On A String," and the beautiful dedication "Black Woman." They lighten the mood on "Belly Dancin' Dina," which is an acceptable change-of-pace, and drop some African tribe-type sounds on the rhyme-less "Good News Comin'."
"Straight Out The Jungle" is an excellent Hiphop album virtually free of profanity and frought with intelligent and spirtual thoughts. Think you can neglect these guys if you like old-school and Native Tongue Hiphop? You can't! The Jungle Bros. may have fallen off after this, but like I said, they did stand right with or above their De La and Tribe counterparts back then. Don't hesitate to buy, most definitely check this one out!

Amazing keyboard player but their songs need some help in the arrangement department. I guess these guys took lessons from Dream Theater. Sometimes a little brevity is a good thing in music. Keyboard player will have a lot of ar"tension" and arthritis if he keeps playing like that.

A GREAT CD.......2002-11-03

I played Forces Of Nature again today, I play it every day because I like it so much. I`m a big prog metal fan I listen to bands like Symphony X and Royal Hunt Dream Theater and many others, and folks I have to tell you Artension are in the big league. With vocals like John West and keyboards by Vitalij Kuprij ( a master) and the other guys, who are all fantastic musicians this makes for a great CD. Oh yes one more thing the songs are great and not all the same in style (plenty of ideas going on) If you like prog metal YOU MUST get this.

Underated Neo classical Metal band.......2002-06-25

this band is keyboard orientated unlike most metal bands. this album is very good and a worthy addition to any metal collection, its a bit like malmsteen but with the soloing coming from the keyboardist rather than the guitar. the best songs are the title track, lost horizon and my favourite Tall ships, a ballad that makes me shiver:)

Just brilliant. Far better than the Artension previous two albums. A great voice of John West combined with the keyboard masterpiece of Vitaly Kuprij and guitar soloing makes this album one of the best of my almost 500-cd collection.

After listening to the samples, I thought I'd give these guys a try. It was definitely a wise decision. The song writing and performance on this CD are very well done. Good vocals, keys and alot of crunching guitar make for a kinda dark progressive sound that comes off very well. This is one that you'll keep in the player for a long time to come!

An Unknown Band, But Not for LONG!.......2001-02-23

This band is an interesting blend of powerful, moving music of the late 80's with a more contemporary feel. The vocalist has a lovely voice with a nice range and the male backup harmonies are sweet as well. The guitar is very present but not overpowering and the leads are extremely tasty. The bass is a very important part of the overall mix and the drums are tight and not over-produced like a lot of the music from the 80's was. Keep your ear out for Asher. They're gonna go places!
