Thanks to its relentless four-on-the-floor foundation, house has an annoying tendency to get real stale real fast. Freaks (British house DJs Justin Harris and Luke Solomon) have long made it a priority to keep house as shook as possible, toying with tempos and leftfield samples to produce music that’s wholly their own.

Their reactionary and conceptual third full-length continues to push that theorem, taking all kinds of liberties with the house template, resulting in a sprawling but always rewarding work that’s rife with venom between the tricked-out beats (they deliver a sonic bitch-slap to Basement Jaxx on the aping "What’s the Point," calling out the duo as a one-trick pony).

They get educational on a cover of Lil’ Louis’ beat-down classic "Nyce & Slo" but aren’t afraid to venture into more traditional 4/4 territory like ’80s-tinged vocal jam "Where Were You When the Lights Went Out." Genuine house heads will freak for Freaks.

this is a real deal get down freak fest.......2003-03-20

For all you underground house heads out there, if you are sitting on the fence about whether or not to buy CD, do it now, do not sleep on it. This is 25th century stuff. And it yet retains the MFF funk and groove that this label and the Freaks themselves are famous for.
Its also very home listening oriented....if you're after more dance floor stuff, get the vinyl version, which has many of the tracks extended for DJ's.
this is definitely a very nice suprise
