4 out of 5 stars Solid all around.......2006-08-29

I believe this is Freescha's best, to this date. Church music is, by far, my favorite Freescha song. If you get any of their CD's, this should be the one.

4 out of 5 stars Simple, yet so meaningful..........2005-12-01

Freescha is a group that does the most with the least. Very simple melodies, crunchy beats, and intermittent vocal samples - all done with a decided low-fi approach. Slower Than Church Music is their journey to the dark side. Every song sounds like it's trapped in the computer and struggling to escape. 'Gole' blends synthetic snares and old video game effects into a scary journey. 'Boogy Foot' beats you over the head with trash can percussion and random periods of static. 'Mothy Hooves' is a short burst of haunted clippety-clops. But there are moments of beauty as well. 'Wood Working' is a playful, factory machine stop-n-start tune. 'Church Music' overwhelms you with organs and deep synth grooves that crescendo into a beautiful climax. And 'Abominable Love' may be the best melody Freescha has ever produced. Slower Than Church Music is certainly an essential electronica purchase, and shows a harder side to Freescha's music.
