4 out of 5 stars This CD makes me laugh joyful tears of bloody goodness.......2004-12-12

This is my first VAC album, and i really like the style. Not really a new sound, but then again it is from the mid 90's. The beats are occasionally catchy, but not too much to stand by themselves. What this artist seems to be ingenius at is the use of samples.

I suppose some artist rely only on themselves to make their music as good as they can, but VAC does a good job of integrating... well, fun stuff. Everything from evangelical ministers to the melting wicked witch of the west. Maybe i'm just being stupid, but it gives me a kick. And it's sometimes poignant too, which makes it a nicely balanced CD.

5 out of 5 stars A good introduction to VAC.......2004-10-21

It is obviously where my namesake comes from. I haven't been a fan of VAC for too long. It was just this year when I really started getting into Velvet Acid Christ's music and buying VAC cds. It isn't as if I heard of VAC before. I have a friend who burned me some VAC songs on a cdin the past. I didn't really get into this excellent American eletro-industrial act until this year with "Between the Eyes vol.2" which I found to be a contrast from what I have heard before. The sound on volume 2 has a goth-influence. I recently picked up volume 3 of the "Between the Eyes" series and I noticed a huge difference in sound. "Between the Eyes vol. 3" starts veering into the electro-industrial sound I am so familiar with, with maybe a slight hint of EBM thrown into the mix. As much as I enjoyed volume 2, I have to say volume 3 is my personal favorite. I found the last volume to be a bit too mellow for that kind of music VAC makes. All the songs on volume 3 are great, especially "Fade Away", "Sadder Still", and "Glorify Satan and Suicide". I can hardly wait for volume 4 to come out. "Between the Eyes" series allowed me to play catch up on one of the US's best industrial acts. This is a great series for new fans like myself.

5 out of 5 stars The best of the old.......2004-10-18

Whereas between the eyes vol 2. was more goth-based, and vol. 4 will be more industrial based, vol. 3 is actually more like trippy-ebm in style. Easily the most danacble of his early music, but it also has one of the most unique sounds (in a great way) i've ever heard. There isn't a single song on this cd i don't love. It covers all emotional ranges, from the gothic-industrial anthem Fade Away to the dancefloor-essential Cyber-Communists, and the acid-inspired soundscapes of Hallucinagene. I shouldn't even name specific songs, they're all amazing.

Consider this an essential for any VAC fan. Highly recommend to any fan of industrial/ebm.
