Hard Ass Trance.......2005-05-09

This cd is awesome from beginning to end and provides listeners with Micro's famous style of techno/trance.This is one of the dj's that started the American rave scene and introduced Techno/Trance to the USA.If your planning to hit the road or the club this is the cd to listen to.If you like this album also I recommend "Tech Mix 2.0" (which is almost as good)along with "Tech Mix 5(the best!)_& "Out Through The Input".In fact any of his Tech Mix series cd's are good and well worth the listen.As with every Micro cd...there is great mixing and flowing. There is no other dj like Micro...go pick up this cd now and get hooked!

Very powerful mix but..........2004-09-23

DJ Micro throws out here a very powerful mix. First time I heard it I was driving to an appointment and found my foot pressing the gas pedal to the floor. I don't think many people could dislike the music here. It seems to me to connect with the original reason I got into dance/techno/trance music (Matrix films having much to do with it among others). The only problem I had with it was that I awaited some tremendous ending track to this disc. Something, you know, magical, inspirational, etc. Kinda like how DJ Paul Oakenfold ends his Global Underground : New York disc with Deeper Love - (Symphonic Paradise mix, with BBE) which I think is supperb. Instead the final track is probably the least enjoyable track on the disc that just reminds me of a downward sloping hill. It starts off like the rest of the album but eventually reaches the bottom of the hill where the track just dies.

Good Dark techno yet not fulfilling.......2004-09-21

Well here i am going through all of my techno, trance, house ect.. albums. i scroll across dj micro's 2000 mix. yes this is a great cd for its hard dark tracks but it just doesnt cut it. if you like listening to techno to dance than this is a great cd, if you like listening for more of an artistic view i still prefer Oakenfold. i just wish Oakenfold would play more hard tracks like the ones presented by dj micro in this cd. good to get cd just because of the hard tracks provided. just doesnt progress into anything.

Yes! now thats what im talkin about....this mix has got what today's Micro needs....that tech/trance/breaks style.Awesome cd from start to finish....Very highly recommended

If there is one Trance cd to own; this is it........2004-01-07

This is in my opinion THE BEST Micro cd there is, quite possibly the best tech/trance/house album to own. Period. Absolutely no cheese is to be found anywhere, Crystal clear sound, a perfect track selection, and energy surging the entire time kepping your senses glued to the music . The entire album takes you for a ride with enlifting and tense build ups, immaculate mixing, and intense climaxes (and there are many throughout the cd).The one flaw stated and agreed by many is a weak ending with bizarre off key vocals, but the experience before makes up for it a hundred fold. A truly good cd that you can listen all the way through satisfied the etnire time.
I have just begun to write reviews on music but have been listening to techno and more definitively trance for more than half a decade, and have to say that finding good solid cd's is harder and harder to find. This is THE must have.

Seriously, it is a bit different then his earlier stuff but it was recorded live at the Avaland so it's going to be a bit more "clubby".

Besides, aren't the better artists the ones who branch of a bit here and there?

This is a good album,however it features somewhat dated material and club hits.It also fails to produce the Micro we're all used to...tech/trance/breaks...This album is mostly trancey and very mainstream,good for driving and dancing.Although this album is more for beginners,if you are a dance music fan I suggest you pick this one up

Great uplifting live mix,w/ alotta energy,very well mixed ,not quite as good as the earlier tech mixes though ..if ur a true fan .get it its worth the money and sure to arouse any trance addict!

This is one of the first techno cd's I ever listened to and it remains one of my favorites.My friend introduced me to Micro when I joined the scene back in 99'and I have been hooked ever since!This combines the classic micro style ,the tech/trance/breaks with a little bit of house.Any true fan of dance music MUST have this bangin mix.If you like this one check out his other great cd's ...Tech Mix 5,Tech Mix 2000,Mixed, and Out Thru The Input.

Like the other reviews, the beginning of this cd is Micro . . . so it is descent; but not packing the trancy punch and vibe usual to micro's work. But like i said this is Micro, and he puts a mindblowing remainder of the cd. The cool, loungy feel of BT with his own style incorporated, and doesn't stop with more energy abounding from there. Bass fans will love the sound later in the album and love the next album: tech mix 2000, my favorite cd in my collection. Old school, nu school, trance and house fans will be united with micro's mix.

i may be a little biased, but this album is my favorite of Micro's because it is how i first got introduced to his sound. I've had this album for almost 2 years now, and i still enjoy it completely! In his "upgrade" of the original Micro-Tech-Mix, version 2.0, Micro doesn't waste any time getting down to business. the first track is micro's own remix of fellow moonshine group cirrus' "Stop and Panic." As the next couple of tracks go by, you will notice the music getting deeper and more progressive, bringing us up to Transa's "Behind the Sun." Mixed right in after that is BT's popular cut "Godspeed," which marks the middle, and possibly the peak. following "Godspeed" are a bunch of 'okay' tracks, and Micro's journey ends with the powerful "S-Express" by Phil Fuldner. all in all, this album is quite impressive. version 2.0 got me into the Micro sound--the progressive trance, the breaks, the caffein-style...buy it!

I waited and waited for the local music store to get this CD in. I have been following Micro since 1996. This CD brings back some amazing memories of his other Tech Mix series. Micro simply puts on a great show on this CD. If you were the least bit disappointed by his last 3 releases get this CD it will not let you down. I put this right up there with DJ Micro DJMIXEd and right up there with all the other Tech Mix Cd's. It will be one of the few CD's that doesn't get removed off my Ipod because I can not get enough of listening to it.

Micro knows best. A perfect blend of house, techno and trance that just keeps you asking for more...I have most of Micro's CD Mixes and though i already have a fav: OUT THROUGH THE INPUT, Tech Mix 5 is a must have! Definitely a chill out kinda mix...Starting out deep with "Flash", uplifting the mood with "the spell" (hot track!) and on and on...

JUST GET IT!

My least favorite Micro.......2005-05-10

This is the cd that started all the Tech Mix series,but this one is somewhat lacking.This is another cd I cant let play all the way thru because it's just so inconsistent and not near as good as the other tech mixes.Tech Mix 00'is the best,with 2.0 coming in 2nd place.I dont recommend this mix unless you like boredom in the middle of good music.

THis is the cd that opened the doorway to version 2.0....what a way to start it all(tech mix series)...this is one i can listen to over n over again without getting bored!get this one for sure

This mix is an absolute jewel. The first flawless aspect of this cd is the track selection. These tracks blend together to form one complete piece of art, a journey through time and space. Micro starts us off with 8 dark acid trance tracks that do not disappoint, and then he changes the pace a a bit. Tracks 9-12 are really funky, and almost resemble house, but with a trancey edge. He finishes us off with a hard acid breaks track that turns happy-go-lucky and leaves us drooling. The result...a beautifully varying mix that showcases all of Micro's outstanding skills. His mixing is amazing, he blends tracks with such skill and keeps the listener's ears glued to the speakers for the entire 73 minutes. I don't what else to say besides that I LOVE this album sooo much. Any listener, ESPECIALLY any true trancehead, will dig this album.

Trance 101: First, you must listen to every single sound employed by the DJ because like a great composer every single tune is there for a purpose and that's what makes DJ Micro awesome, his creativity and ingenuity.Second, you have to immerse yourself in the transitions, build ups and last but not least the blow ups. This cd is the ultimate mood manipulator. It definitely takes my emotions, ties it up to the end of a string and just slings it everywhere. Chock this one up in your "gotta have" list.
