Before Hotel Costes & Buddha Bar in Paris existed, there was New York City's legendary nightclub, Au Bar. Now in it's 17th year, Au Bar is internationally known for it's eclectic dance music mix of European and global sounds.
Finally, Au Bar has released it's 1st compilation mixed by longtime resident DJ, Mark Gorbulew. The musical vibe might not be the "hippest-coolest" one you'll find in a compilation but it definitely rings true to the international music vibe that has kept the dancefloor packed & Au Bar patrons ecstatic all these years.

Gorbulew starts with a huge continental pop hit from the 80s, Tuto Cutugno's "L'Italiano" (recently redone in a cheesy commercial trance version) , moves into the recent European Spanish Reggae hit, "Bomba', then segues into an North African flavored version of "If I Was a Rich Girl" , a takeoff on the Broadway song from "Fiddler On The Roof." Then comes"Alabina", an Au Bar classic floor filler mixing Spanish Gypsy and Moorish influences.

The rest of the album has Brazilian, Spanish, Latin, African, and Arabian flavors mixed with funky house music beats that is a continuous soundtrack for your next party.

There is a great live-sounding version of "I Will Survive" from the Netherlands that ends with chants that could make you think you're at a Russian party, and a great Jimmy Somerville disco version of "I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You." The album ends with an uplifting remix by Milk & Sugar from Germany of John Paul Young's "Love Is In The Air."

Music is definitely the international language of love and this album proves it!
Au Bar=the United Nations of music.
