House remixer goes electro in a wild style.......2006-06-21

Hard to believe that Boris Dlugosch who is best known for doing house remixes returns with such a stellar electro/breaks/old-school double mix CD - this is the real deal - ace track selection, smooth segues, expert pacing, this mix just builds & builds & builds, featuring the absolute cream of the crop of 80s electro "Funhouse"-style tracks - if you love NYC circa John Robie/Arthur Baker/early Tommy Boy, this mix is for you - great stuff - and I admire Boris for working in NEW tracks that pay homage, looking back while moving forward, such as JOAKIM, SWAYZAK, METRO AREA, and more! Also very nice gatefold digipak graphic package as well!

bionic breaks.......2004-09-01

I recently purchased the vinyl release of boris dlugoschs'bionic breaks'. As usual vinyl releases only have a few of the tracks on offer. The twin vinyl has 9 tracks - hip hop be bop-al naafiysh-the party scene-one for the treble-ray gunomics-jam on it-in the bottle-play that beat mr.dj-and-makin music. All a great cross-section of early eighties electro-we need more of these to spread da word of the good stuff. Funk on!
