His debut album on Distinctive featured collaborations from the likes of Nick Cave and author Iain Banks. Whilst 2003 saw the release of his Radio One Blue Room compilation for BBC Worldwide. What a excellent album in the chillout/ balearic genre. This is highly recommended if you liked artists Bliss, Afterlife or Chicane.

Nik Freitas' "Heavy Mellow" is a pretty good indie pop record, but it definitely doesn't deserve a "5". There are several reasons for this: there's a good chance that many won't like his voice, and also nothing here really "wow"s you. Despite all of that, however, it's still a good record. The lyrics are crystal clear and pretty interesting to listen to, but they aren't the deepest I've ever heard. Musically Nik definitely has his own sound, and the instrumentation and production is pretty good here. It's essentially indie rock with an indie pop singer. Every song is good here, and there are even a couple standouts - "Summer Hearts" is probably my favorite track on here. It's a very good album, but I could also live without it - indie pop and Nik Freitas founds should really like this, though. Highly recommended!

Freitas has made another great record. "Summer Hearts" is a song for the ages. Epic, sweet, sad...
It will remind you of being young, and in love, in the Central Valley, in the summer, at night, in a car, driving home.

This is my favorite band in the entire universe! A great live CD from the band, with the audience pushed back in the background & the music up front! It's great with 'classic' 54-40 songs given life on stage in new versions from the originals. This wasn't the very best live CD from 1999, but it's definitely up there!

This is not the French rockers Trust but an American AOR outfit called The Trust! While its not offensive it is certainly not in the same league.
