I thought that the songs listed were sung by the original artists. Instead they were all sung by some B-rated no name group. Not ideal when your having a party and want party music.

Still Suffering is much better.......2006-02-27

I was highly anticipating this album when it came out. It has it's moments (2 tracks) but overall I was very dissapointed. Still Suffering was great and it still is but "Numb" lacked everything Still Suffering offered. It's actually hard to believe that this is Klank. Anyways get Still Suffering instead of Numb.

Ouch, disapointing........2003-02-08

Klank had so much going for him, then he pulls
away from real record companies, real producers,
and real songwriting.

His Still Suffering CD was great. I expected so
much with this album, but I was horribly
disappointed. The only songs worth listening to are
the electronics without vocals. He replaced his
dark, heavy sound for a whiny voiced sissy album.

I think he needs Klay Scott back. Klay Scott was
the one who MADE Still Suffering and Downside
Remixes good. Klank has talent, but he should let
others shape and mold that talent.

So if you like good industrial, get the new
Celldweller CD. It's at CDbaby.com.

Great.......2001-07-07

I personally enjoy this album more then the first one. The songs re more dfeind on here and have better stability. They are not as heavy in guitar as was on the first album but that void is replaced well with electronics. Anyone who likes industrial rock will find this cd as a must have. Some standout songs include Bleed Me Dry, Blind, and so Very Real.

New Klank CD ventures into new ground. Below expectations.......2000-10-02

With Klank's third release, Numb, Daren Diolosa and his newly formed band move toward a new sound which, while fairly original, sounds much more like later Circle of Dust material than Daren's previous work under the "Klank" moniker. The album is also the first Klank release not produced by Klay Scott, Daren's former bandmate and the mastermind behind Circle of Dust, and it shows.

Numb features Daren's experimentation with a new vocal style, which works ok on some tracks ("Bleed me Dry" and "So Very Real" come to mind) but sounds somewhat whiny and annoying on others like "God?" The title track also experiments with a quasy-rap sound and shows some promise. This CD, while worth buying if you're a Klank fan, will probably not impress most music fans who would be better off starting out with one of Klank's other two albums: the heavier "Still Suffering" or the "Downside Remixes" which features 5 remixes of two tracks off "Still Suffering," both of which are very good.

While not a total flop by any stretch of the imagination, I certainly hope that Klank's followup to Numb will have a more mature sound... and better vocals.

By listening to this latest comeback album, as well as all of the great Meters albums, you'll know why Joe 'Zigaboo' Modeliste is known as the 'Godfather of Groove' bar none.

Totally Fumky.......2002-10-19

A few weaker tunes but in general this CD reminds me of why I wanted to play in a band in the first place. This stuff just isn't generally available in the UK. These days when all thats promoted is bland processed throw away pop where mp3 formats suffice, its great to hear some first rate players. This is the real deal.

An Elder Musician in His Prime.......2000-04-01

A simply amazing album recorded by blues scholar and ethnomusicologist David Evan. This is R.L Burnside is with his family band -- not his punk worshipers, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Burnside plays in a style that is distinct from "Delta Blues" - it derives from the fife and drum traditions in the Mississippi Hill Country (see Othar Turner). This music the electric version of the hynotic, droning fife and drum + guitar. Don't let others fool you into thinking this is a less than stellar recording....

Less-than-stellar recording by a great artist........1999-02-24

Relatively superficial (and slightly out of tune) effort by an artist who specializes in raw Delta blues. Lacks the intensity and originality of many of of his other CDs. It has a pleasant 'jamming in the living room' atmosphere, but fails to provide the intensity that Burnside supplie on nearly every other one of his albums.
