Since 1996, DIRK SWARTENBROEKX (Belgium) is making cool "warm" records under the name of BUSCEMI, one of Dirk's favourite actors. His style is difficult to categorise but always "deep", whether it's nu bossa, nu lounge, housemusic, brazilian grooves, afro beats or d&b... Dancemusic with a latin feel is maybe the best description for the sound of Buscemi.Buscemi has released a range of EP's, 3 fully-fledged CDs and two compilations for the famous Blue Note label, that have, and still are, making serious impacts. Buscemi's skill at turning his hand to basically anything is born out by the way he manages to combine a wide range of musical styles. Buscemi's groove is acknowledged by artists ranging from Kruder & Dorfmeister, DJ Morpheus, Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, Rainer Trüby or Calexico, to name only a few... His fame as remixer is rapidly spreading, and besides top Belgian acts like LAÏS, HOOVERPHONIC, BRISKEY or MAGNUS (Tom Barman & CJ Bolland), he also reworked tracks for other world-famous bands like the SUBA, MADREDEUS, CALEXICO and further for JOHN BELTRAN, MARCOS VALLE, ISABELLE ANTENA, NICOLA CONTE ... But the list goes on and on… "seek and you shall find": scroll through the tracklisting and no matter what musical taste you have, you will always find a remix that suites you perfectly. The album will be available on shiny double CD while a selection of these 22 remixes will find its way on double vinyl for the wax lovers…
