After traversing the globe in seven volumes of Music For Modern Living on the Lounge Records label, now is the time to open a new chapter in this cherished series of musical compilations. The concept which is constantly evolving is now expanding as well. Take a ride!

When Lounge Records released their first selection of music, which we thought fits well in our modern urban, European lifestyles in 1997, we found ourselves in interesting times. The world seemed to be getting smaller by the minute. It appears easier to encounter culture from all continents and exchange creativity via freely accessible data channels. Between surfing through the world wide web on our laptops, digging for lost Latino tracks and listening to Jamaican dubplates, we dreamed a little dream of a cross-global cultural community happily exchanging their music and evolving into a socially conscious worldwide party.

Then the millenium arrived earlier than we thought. In 2004, the living rooms are still there, although smaller, and somehow the sound systems are gone. Still, there is so much sound to discover from all around. It seems to come from somewhere else these days, very remote and difficult to locate. And to make it even more tricky for everybody, the sound of today is immensely specialized. So, if you do not know your way around, you are lost. Not very convenient, we thought, so instead of sticking to old habits and do another single CD, we just mixed a second CD for your pleasure this time so you have more music for modern living in your player than before, plus more variety, more soul and much more fun!

We hope that you will enjoy our journey across the ever expanding universe of Music For Modern Living. Do not ask where we are heading next time, but as long as you have as much fun as we do the trip is going to be a good one.

Get This Album !.......2006-07-28

I didn't even know who Bob Malone was until the night I saw him by accident a couple of years ago. I went to see the woman who opened for him. I forgot her name shortly after Bob took the stage, because I was in awe for two hours. I bought this album after the show because I wanted to hear what I heard live. This set pretty much nails it. Great stuff. Bravo!

Although great music, the CD is very abbreviated........2000-10-22

The musical selection of this CD is certainly what the cover says, however the cuts are very short. Typically 2 to 4 minutes in length. in my personal opinion I prefer a little more continuity of content.

This is a wondeful CD- Aaron Copland is a pure geniuos and every songs is so beautiful and perfectly crafted. I cherish this CD and listen to it all the time- none stop. I would urge anyone to buy it. It's worth it.
