Amazing cd.......2003-02-08

This cd is a great cd. It is so different from Videodrone. Hhe sings faster or " raps " more in this and its just good. This album is way better than feed us in my opinion. When people ask me what bands sound like COT I cant even think of any. They are very original. Songs I recomend are Picture perfect, I go 1st(great song), Cocaine for breakfast, and Relax and Recline.

I bought this for a buck,and I just wasn't feeling it.In an era of Hed pe,Downset,etc.This just doesn't compare.My opinion.

Goth Funk, Perhaps.......2000-08-20

Cradle of Thorns (now Videodrone) were a truly great band, adding elements of funk, goth, and hardcore into their music. They really didn't sound much like they do now then, in my opinion, better. They are a very talented band that really deserves what they got (a deal with Warner Brothers). Don't expect Videodronw because Cradle Of Thorns were completely different. The songs are very funk influenced, with more singing and layed-back rapping than Videodrone's S/T CD. Kris Kohls is even better than now, as his drums are more goth influenced. It seems to still have that dark synth edge that Videodrone has now though. The band did mature since this effort, but I'm not sure if I like Videodrone better. The bass and guitar here are much better than the later effort for Elementree, as they are far more innovative and funk-like. Cradle Of Thorns are also a little funny here, too. Look at the song titles and see for yourself. The best songs here are Relax and Recline, Bullimia Blow-Job, and Shout At The Devil. Some similar bands are theSTART and very early Human Waste Project.
