Customer Reviews:
Best Rave Collection Ever - not messing with you.......2003-10-28
3 cd's for the price of one.......2000-11-02
A trance compilation that stands high above the crowd.......2000-09-22
Disc one is a solid collection of incredibly good tracks from start to finish. It also has diversity, with some tracks being composed of more standard synth chord progressions and others being primarily composed of electronic noise shaped into melodic progressions. Whatever the musical basis, there are no repetitive or boring tracks to be found.
Disc two follows the same flawless recipe as the first, but is the weaker of the two discs. The second CD is slightly choppier, jumping between fast and slow tunes, which sort of adds refreshing diversity but also takes away from the consistency that makes the first disc more enjoyable. Also, while all the tracks on the second disc are great, the first disc has a few more standout songs and more memorable melodies.
As for the bonus disc.. I'm not sure if it's the same in every set.. It could just be what they decide to throw in. The bonus disc in my copy was a 10 track trance CD with material that wasn't as good as what was on the two actual CDs in the compilation. However, it definitely wasn't bad, and was a nice little extra.
In short, this is a very solid and excellent compilation that avoids most of the traps that other trance compilations fall into. I enjoyed this compilation more than any other trance compilation I have heard or own, including the much worshipped "TranceGlobal Nation". Definitely worth getting!
