Customer Reviews:
A Must for any Chemical Brothers Fan........2007-03-29
This is a great mix album by the Chemical Brothers.
Probably one of the best mixed tapes of all time.......2003-10-01
If you like a tastefully done mix that just isn't hip-hop, techno, house etc. This is for you. A Sure party banger.
Best Breakbeat mix ever.......2002-01-06
If you like bigbeat - breakbeat You will love this mix. I have yet to find a mix that compares with this mix. The chemical brothers do an insane job putting this mix together with everything from meat beat manifesto samples to public enemy. The other two LIVE AT THE SOCIAL mixes dont compare to this mix.
Absolutely ... AWESOME!.......2001-04-28
There's not much to say except this disk just kicks arse like no other DJ mix album I've ever heard. So many different styles - Hip Hop, Techno, Trance, House - and anything else you can think of. It just goes OFF. The first half is very big beat with a heap of old school Hip Hop tracks but it evolves through many different realms as the disk goes on. Puts you on a new level. If you like techno/trance/hiphop dj mix kinds of things, I challenge you to not LOVE this album. Simply the best I've ever heard.
A Chemically Balanced Mix.......2000-01-08
This continuous mix evolves from track to track. It is a great blend of breaks, hip-hop,and other genres. This shows the Brothers at their best. It is defintely worth a listen and a buy!

not the same old chemical brothers.......2000-12-21
Amazing. I've been waiting for some "different" Chemical Brothers. I mean, I love there other stuff but it's great to be able to know that they rock hard even if they're not playing songs off their albums. This CD has everything from hip-hop, teckno to rap mixed into one great record. A MUST get for any Chemical Brothers fan or anyone for that matter.
Free-way Freestyle.......2000-09-30
It's true, the Chem Bros aren't the best at fluid mixing, but they can sure as hell put a good set together. I don't have a whole lot to say about this cd, except it's really good. It starts out in a lot of old school beats and dj cuts, and moves more towards techno in the latter half. The cd features one Chemical Brothers song, which is alright, but i think my favorite is the Cash $ and Marvelous piece Mighty Hard Rocker. That's what i call rapping. Not frikkin DMX or Ice-T or any of those commercialized lamers. I haven't really listened to the disc enough to know the second half song by song, but the whole cd is full of good, solid, funky beats. My advice: get a small standard-transmission coupe, pop this cd in, and drive around highways at high speeds with the volume way the hell up and a lot of friends in the car.
Live at the Social.......2000-08-17
The Chemical Brothers' CD Live at the social is I think the best CD of the chemical bro's. I once had this CD in my collection but the CD wasn't working well so I returned it to the shop. At some way my order for a new one didn't go well and now I don't have it and it's nowhere for sale anymore. I can say I'm very depressed about this. If you have info about htis CD can you please write me at: bhermanussen@hotmail.com
Their only Mix album is an old-school winner.......2000-06-10
This gets a brief review even though it's hard to find. Nonetheless, I got my copy through Amazon.com even though the label is out of stock; with some luck they can get you a copy too.
And if you are a Chemical Brother fan, or a fan of early hip hop with an electronic edge, you'll definitely want this. This was released before their classic Exit Planet Dust album, and as a mix album only contains one of their songs. But as a DJ disc, it's about as good a disc for this style of music as you'll find- clever, original, well mixed, and picking songs that aren't overplayed.
Everything gets thrown into the pot: there's Meat Beat Manifesto's cut-up quality on "Cutman," great hip hop by artists such as Eric B & Rakim, and the chemical-beats sound they would later develop in titles like Red Snapper's "Wesley Don't Surf" and The Charlatans "Nine Acre Dust." True to their roots, there's a dose from their acid house influences.
This is what their "Brothers Gonna Work It Out" CD should have been. Very good, and worth getting if you are can track it down.
Hard to find -BUT WELL WORTH IT!.......1999-11-21
This is one of those cd's that I loved the second I heard the 1st note - & I haven't stop playing it since. I'd heard of it over a yr. ago & it took me this long to finally find a copy. If you can, get this cd! It'll be one of the best investments you'll make.
