I prefer Buddha Bar ( I guess it's number one in the series)& Flying Carpet to this.
This CD has the beats & tics of a nightclub along with the "scratch" sound which kind of disturbs the what otherwise could be tranquil sounds. I bought this hoping it would be more like Fling Carpet. It isn;t. It's one more for the clubbers.

Great music: very relaxing.......2002-12-19

This is a surprisingly good CD. I heard this music in a record store on a sample system. I was hooked after the first song.
This CD has both a Middle Eastern influence - Arabesque - but also an Eastern feel to it - vaguely Indian. The music is enough to put me into a trance every time I listen to it.
This is well worth getting, you will not be dissapointed.

Mellow, Sensual, & Just Plain Fantastic.......2002-03-11

Well, the subject says it all. This CD is nothing short of awesome! I first heard it in dance class as part of a cool-down and the moment I heard the first song, I knew I had to get the CD. The songs are soothing and very lounge-like and as I said, sensual, especially track 1. My fave tracks are 1, 3, and 4, but all the tracks are great - you will not be disappointed!!

the dawn of a new Challe formula?.......2001-11-19

This album seems to mark a newer direction for Challe- he has previously brought us double cd compilations and this seems to be the first single cd. Challe explains that he is "launching a new brand on his label Chall'OMusic: the best of fusion "The Global Beats Collection"...... revealing new talented, innovative and inspired artists, who have until now remained unknown to the larger public........ each opus will have its distinctive colour......... for the first KARMIX, an unnerving blend of Arabic and Indian music........ "
I viewed this with some scepticism at first- I thought it would be much of the same - and indeed it is in one sense- HOWEVER, listening reveals to me a new direction without going totally off track. What hit me is the real fusion of traditional with bang up to date modern electronic methods and rythms.
Great stuff..... Challe seems to have found true inspiration again after releasing a couple of (for him) more mediocre offerings..... the compilation flows very well too....looking forward to the next in the series.
