5 out of 5 stars A Great Master Piece .......2006-09-25

I Simply would say that this album is a great collage of a lot of styles most of all POP-DANCE .

Simply Stunning the athmospear of MIRROR LOVER composed by Dolores O'Riordan (lead singer of ''The Cranberries'')

BUTTERFLY SIGN with Plavka on the vocal is another catchy great track. that explore the pop-dance sound.

The album has great background sounds and an incredible mastering - postProduction on the tracks , that in this case worth to buy and give a listen to it.

5 out of 5 stars Butterfly Sign is a GREAT song.......2005-09-14

It is incredibly catchy and clever - stays in your head for days afterwards. I love it, and everyone I have played it to does too. Plavka has a brilliant voice.

Whenever you see the product carries the name "Jam and Spoon" you know that you are going to get something that bit special. This album was released in Europe in 2004, and has seen three european smash hit singles from it. The album`s sales however do not do justice to the overall excellence and first class production that are the hallmarks of "TF3003". Each track is refreshingly different and contain amazing musical moments, melodies and phrases one has come to expect from Germany`s finest modern-day producers Rolf Ellmer and Markus Loeffel. It says alot for Jam & Spoon`s standing in the business that so many upcoming and established world stars readily agreed to appear on the "best european album release of 2004" ( in my humble opinion !). It is wonderful to hear the likes of Jim Kerr and Midge Ure again, and the way J&S bring out the best in their voices proves that Rolf and Markus are indeed masters of their craft. "Cynical Heart" ft. Jimm Kerr was the first single release off the album, and whilst sales were well below par for J&S, it has a refreshing sound to it that will sound just as fresh in twenty years` time. So too "Something To Remind Me" ft. the fantastic Midge Ure, which can already claim to be a pop anthem. The way this particular track builds to a crescendo is superb, and worth the price of the album alone ! "Butterfly Sign" ft. the unofficial voice of Jam and Spoon, the gorgeous Plavka, and the Bono-esque "Set me Free" ft. Rea, are the other two single releases off the album, and are superbly crafted tracks in their own right. All musical tastes are catered for on this album with musical surprises littered throughout the whole album. "None Of This" features the wonderful voice of Xavier Naidoo, and "Vata" is a dreamy track that will stay with you forever. I have honestly listened to this album well over a hundred times - it really is THAT good ! This is the best J&S release by far, and the two Frankfurt maestros have again set the standard for all to follow. They are way ahead of their peers, and this superbly produced album simply oozes excellence. Do yourself a favour - try this album NOW !

5 out of 5 stars Incredible!.......2005-07-29

Albums like this don't come along often. I'm impressed with the way Jam & Spoon has evolved, comparing their 1st album to this one. There's no comparison! These boys just put out so much of a rush for the mind, body & soul. Every track on this CD is just splendid, from start to finish. My very best friend bought this CD, nearer to the time when it was first released. I wasted too much time & ended up missing out on it. Seems this album is so rare & hard to find. Due to it being an import, it's extremely hard to get. But now that I have it, it's hard to put down.

I had to play the entire album 3 times to listen to everything, because there's just so much to hear. The song "VATA" with singer Shweta Shetty is just to die for. Dolores O'Riordan is another interesting vocalist in the song "MIRROR LOVER". Her thick, Irish accent is haunting, yet soothing...and far better than her normal "out of breath" style from the "Cranberries" CDs. There are 2 more songs which stand out among the rest. I'm referring to "NONE OF THIS" (sung by Xavier Naidoo). His voice is great. The song is very catchy. The other song I'm referring to is "BUTTERFLY SIGN" (sung by Plavka). Her voice is also stunning and has a very similar tone to Madonna's singing voice.

There's nothing but catchy tunes found on this CD. The CD is quite diverse and there's something for everyone. It's one of those albums you just have to rip onto a MiniDisc or MP3 player. Music like this doesn't come around often, and it surely beats the heck out of the trash bands & artists of today. I'm proud to add it to my ever-growing eclectic music collection.

For anyone who doesn't know who Shweta Shetty is.....she performed backup vocals on Sarah Brightman's extensive "HAREM WORLD TOUR". I assume she's singing in Arabic on this CD, but I'm not 100% sure. The song "VATA" really shows off her beautiful voice, and as soon as I first heard this song, I knew I had to have the CD. She also appears on "JUNOON" (track 14), matched up with Mike Romeo. What an interesting song!

Moving on, Jim Kerr appears on the album with the song "CYNICAL HEART". His voice hasn't changed since the 80's when he lead SIMPLE MINDS. It's nice to hear his voice as a collaboration on the album, because I grew up listening to his music. It would be nice to see or hear more of him on J&S's next CD.

Inside the liner notes booklet, are not only the lyrics, but also pictures of the singers plus pictures of Jam El Mar and Mark Spoon, themselves. These 2 guys are a great duo and I hope they will continue putting out incredible music such as this and their debut album.

As far as design concept is concerned, the packaging is great. The album is a 20 on a rating of 1 to 10. Take it from me.......get the album and be happy with it. You won't regret it! Highly recommended for music lovers of any age.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent album worth owning for all electronic and dance music fans........2006-01-13

Tripomatic Fairy Tales is by far one of the best electronica and dance album releases EVER!

Back in 1992 there was this little known trance track that I heard of called Stella. From the very first time I heard of it I was hooked. It was fast and energetic, sort of a minimal track that just caught you off guard and took you along for the ride into euhporic extacy. I was so into this track I had to learn more about Jam & Spoon. I was totally hooked and researched anything and everything this duo who had produced many euro dance bands but Stella was nothing like Dr. Alban or B.G. The Prince Of Rap. It was tons better.

I waited until 1994 when Tripomatic Fairy Tales was finally released by SONY. Then I found what a great album it was. I kept listening and listening to tracks like Find Me (Odyssey To Anyoona) (Radio Mix), Odyssey To Anyoona, Right In The Night (Fall In Love With Music), Path Of Harmony and of course that excellent track STELLA.

Now that I am listening to this wonderfully excellent album of pure dance pleasure I am reminded that albums like Tripomatic Fairy Tales are few and far between.

If you haven't the pleasure of listening to this amazing album then by all means run to your local used music store and snatch it up before you wont be able to anymore. On another sad note I learned yesterday that DJ Spoon had died. Through his excellent album he will always be remembered.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD, a must to have!!! .......2005-11-21

I am visiting Las Vegas, and today, was shocking experience, at the Wynn Hotel, when i was playing roulette, i couldn't believe, they have in the general audio, the song FIND ME of Jam&Spoon!!! All my friends where shock when i told them, it is a song from more than 10 years ago!!!
If you are a real fan of electronic music, you must have this CD. The songs Find Me, and Right in the Night, really worth the price of this.
Also, take a look at the single Be Angeled, the Paul Van Dyk mix is absolutely great!

5 out of 5 stars Tripomatic Love.......2005-08-02

I was in the music store going through the cheap $1.00 CD's when I saw Jam & Spoon amongst a cabinet full of rubbish. Considering I have 1000's of CD's in the dance/trance/techno department and the fact that I am a DJ and have loved dance music for 15 years, I knew exactly who Jam & Spoon were when I saw the CD. However, considering they have multiple albums, many different aliuses (e.g. Storm, Dance 2 Trance, and Tokyo Ghetto Pussy) and I haven't listened to any of their music in several months, I was thrown off by the title of the CD. I assumed it was a newer release with the '2001' being in the title. When I looked at the tracks very briefly, I saw "Stella" and immeadietly jumped to the conclusion that it was the new millenium remixes and not the original version.

So I bought the CD, popped it in, expecting to hear their newer, slower sounds (post 1998), but what I heard was some of the best trance music ever. I kept asking myself, "Why is this so freaking awesome?" Then I got home and looked up this CD on Amazon and started seeing reviews about how this album is like a pioneer of trance music. I quickly grabbed the CD and looked closely at it and realized it was made in 1993, not 2001!!! I was dumbfounded, yet, to my surprise, I was so happy that I had picked up this CD. I cannot stress how powerful this album is.. it sounded like some of the newer progressive house music from 2004 and 2005 (e.g. Tilt and Way Out West) and it's still not dated, 12 years later. On top of that, the CD offers some very powerful deep, hard trance that I have been looking for ever since I really got into J&S's other project, Dance 2 Trance but was unable to find anything comparable.

This CD gets 5 stars plus 5 more because it's not only living proof that J&S are responsible for the incline of trance music, but it's also a CD that can be loved from the opening of "Heart Of Africa" until the final seconds of "Stellas Cry". However, it's "Find Me (Odyssey To Anyoona)" and "Tow Spys In The House Of Love" (tracks 2+3) that sets this CD off for me, in the way that they are intertwined together so perfectly. It's hard to understand why Jam & Spoon drop the hard trance style heard on this album and navigate into the Eurodance sound in later albums. All in all, this is one fine creation!

5 out of 5 stars A Benchmark.......2004-03-21

There are 2 significant releases from the '90's that reshaped the future "face" of club/dance music: "Tripomatic Fairytales 2001" from Jam & Spoon and "Accelerator" by Future Sound of London. Both undeniably brilliant in how they pioneered what was to become "trance," "progressive trance," "art-house trance," et al. "Tripomatic" is an all-inclusive work of art that only trained seekers of electronica will seek and enjoy. This is the Mona Lisa of what was to come. Experience this.

4 out of 5 stars Wave after Wave of inspired compositions.......2004-01-07

One of the most interesting features of Jam and Spoon's pioneering trance album is that the two singles "Right in the Night" and "Find Me (radio mix)" are both characterised by prominent vocals. Although both of these songs are very good in their own right, the more one listens to the album in its entirety, the more one realises they fit in less and less.

The brilliance of this album comes from its instrumental qualities. Although these qualities were always present in the singles (and who can forget the vivid introduction to "Right in the Night") they are present in unadulterated form in the album tracks. From the beginning, through "Heart of Africa", "Find Me" and "Stella (original version)", the tone is unmistakeably set. Vocals are properly relegated to a supporting role in all of these - as is pure and beautiful.

Writing in early 2004, eleven years after the inception of Tripomatic Fairlytales, it is remarkable how little it has dated. Although one can recognise from the early 1990s some of the bass-driven sequences which could be labelled as 'deep house', yet it portends far further forward in time than it reaches back.

A final remark should be made. Most of the tracks are at least 6 minutes long. The result is unhurried bliss.

5 out of 5 stars Suitable for continued listening.......2003-02-11

Not a big Techno fan myself I do rate this album equally high as the 2001 tripomatic fairytales. It's a milestone in Ambient music. The intruiging compositions make this album suitable for re-listening over and over without ever getting boring. I would consider it one-of-a-kind and in the same time 'best of genre'.

4 out of 5 stars I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BETTER..........2001-05-31

Jam El Mar's and Mark Spoon's follow-up / companion piece to the fantastic Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 is a trippier, more mellow experience. Not concentrating on a hard-house beat like its predecessor, this has a slightly Orb-ish reggae feel to it.

The album does has its flaws, however. The female voice from 2001 is sorely missed and the male singing on some of the tracks is a poor substitute. The album sags in the middle, after a fantastic opening, and detracts the listener from the music. By the time you get back into the swing of it, the album ends!

2002 should really only be given 3 stars, but its extra star is awarded for the two fantastic opening tracks: Hermaphrodite and Nocturnal Audio Sensory Awakenings. Not only the best songs on the album, but two of Jam & Spoon's greatest tracks to date. Hermaphrodite is a pagan sound-swirl, and N.A.S.A is 12 minutes of haunting yet mellow music that completely spaces you out.

This is a great album to chill by, and should be in anyone's Jam & Spoon collection, but it can take awhile to grow on you, especially if you're looking for that 2001 beat.

3 out of 5 stars Experimental Soundscapes.......2000-11-08

"Tripnomatic Fairytales 2002" marks the second half of the "Fairytales" trance dance music project. However, if you are expecting the driving dance beats of their first album "Tripnomatic Fairytales 2001," be prepared for something different. The "2002" album focuses less on dance and more on trance giving the album a more subdued feeling. This music is probably better suited for self reflection than the dance floor. The majority of songs are instrumental, like the "2001" album, but more experimental. This is evident on tracks like "N.A.S.A" and "Casteneda Future Illuminations." The "2002" album tries to set up a sonic atmosphere rather than a beat and focuses more on instrumentation and melody. Instead of the high powered female vocalists of the "2001" album, a deep sensual male vocalist takes their place. As heard in "The Future is in Small Hands", and "A Secret Kind of Love." The "2002" album as a whole leans more towards ambient than techno. Although this album does have it's good points, it is a dissappointment to those who expect Jam & Spoon's trance dance music, for which they are known for.

4 out of 5 stars Tripomatic FairyTales 2002.......2000-06-20

Tripomatic FairyTales 2002 is an intelligent and intriguing album. With songs such as "LSD nikon" and "Castaneda Future Illuminations", Tripomatic FairyTales 2002 delves into slow, enigmatic, and ponderous trance-like states. From "Hermaphrodite" to "World of X-T-C", the album retains a strong sense of intellecutalism and creativity.
