About the Artist
Benjy Wertheimer, who has recently been touring and recording with Krishna Das, is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Ancient Future world fusion music ensemble. Now living in Portland, Oregon, Benjy has studied Indian classical music for over 20 years with some of the greatest masters of that tradition.

An award-winning songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist (playing tabla, congas, percussion, esraj, guitar, and keyboards), Benjy has toured the US, Canada, and Japan with renowned bamboo flute master G.S. Sachdev, and has opened for such artists as Carlos Santana, Paul Winter, and Narada Michael Walden. His new release "Circle of Fire" is receiving national airplay on NPR's "Echoes."

He was a contributing composer/member of the Zakir Hussain Rhythm Experience (along with Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead). For over five years, Benjy scored music for the internationally syndicated NBC series "Santa Barbara." He has recorded with numerous A&M, Windham Hill, Narada, Nippon Phonogram, and Rounder recording artists.

I was introduced to this artist through the work of Don Miguel Ruiz. I love his message and the hopeful honesty that peppers his work. I figured if he endorsed it, it would be worth trying out. OMG... nothing prepared me for the sheer quality in Cari Cole's voice and the inviting sound of her music. Not only is the message something I enjoy hearing in each song, but it is music I really look forward to putting on the CD and being taken on a journey. Incredible voice. Inviting music. Hopeful Message!

Cari has captured some of our common experience in this recording. Beautiful words and harmonies. As I continue to listen, I continue to appreciate. Several speak to my soul with reminders like, "I will respect my body" and other affirmations which reinforce loving our Selves. Always gold to be found and appreciated in Cari's creativity.

A Voice of Heaven.......2004-11-08

This is absolutely a piece of jewel to keep. I do not understand why our pop culture do not play the music in regular radio channels (well, maybe I just have not listened to the radio enough). The songs Cari Cole sing in this album is something you enjoy when you re-listen. Cari Cole truly has a beautiful voice. For some people, singing the prayers sometimes help them experience the words in a more powerful way because it involves more senses. This album truly helps us to experience love and peace.

My favorites are "Whenever the Time is Now", "The Circle of Fire Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer", though all others are wonderful as well. All songs are mellow yet suthing.

For "Whenever the Time is Now", I especially like the part about "Whoever you are is enough, Whatever you have is perfection, Whoever you are with is the one". These are the words we need to be reminded when turbulent times come when we always need to have more and better. For "The Circle of Fire", I will always remember the four words we want to bear in mind, which is gratitude, love, loyalty and justice... and these words begin with us.

Some songs are beautiful in melodies but not in words. However, these 10 songs are beautiful in melodies and artistic in words. May you experience love and peace while listening to this CD as well?

Both Cari's voice and the instruments on this CD are pure and powerful- shamanic,religious,sweet,heart-opening and healing - combined with the beautiful healing messages of Don Miguel Ruiz. Will be using this CD for dance events and healing workshops. Here in Brazil,paid $10 customs fee on top of price for CD. That hurt until I listened - I would pay $300 for this CD if I had to! when people wonder why I'm devoted to DUB.......2005-08-13

...I pull out this disc, crank up the volume, and close my eyes. This album has heart and soul. It's lethal. This is deep DUB, some cream of the cream; and that's saying alot when you're talking about the superb Blood & Fire label.

DUBBING IS A MUST.......2002-02-05

When you hear "Inner Circle", changes are that you think of highly commercial reggae, such as their theme song "Bad Boys" which they made for a television program. Others will remember this band from their days with singer Jacob Miller, who unfortunately died much too early in a car accident. Few will remember them for their really killer dubwise albums. And that is really a shame, because this is a Heavyweight Killer Dub album that you'll bound to remember even after hearing it once. So much respect is due to Blood And Fire, for re-releasing another great CD!
Heavyweight Dub and Killer Dub were both originally released in 1978. One LP (as they were called back then) was mixed by the mighty Prince Jammy in King Tubby's studio's (Killer), the other one by Maximillian, a reasonably unknown engineer at Channel One Studio's. Further, there's an all star list of musicians who participated in this set of tracks.

It sure is heavyweight, and it sure is a killer! There are many really hard rocking steppers rhythms on this 19 track set, some dubs from well known tracks such as well, and everything is mixed very well too, I can't or won't say different. This is the kind of album that you play when someone asks you what's so special about all this "old skool" material. The riddims are very interesting to listen to, the mixes are intense, and the psychedelic sounds that make Dub what it is, are created the way they should be: by adding effects to instruments.

Although the two albums are mixed by different engineers in different studio's, they match each other perfectly. If I had to choose between them, I would favor the first album (Heavyweight Dub, by Maximillian), because it's mixed much more psychedelically. But really the choice is almost impossible. To have both albums on one CD makes the choice unnecessary anyway.

Doesn't this CD have any negative points? Yes, it does. The lack of vocals is a thing that really bothers me. Only in the last track can you hear some vocals. A little more snippets of Jacob "Killer" Miller's vocals would have been a welcome addition to this set. But perhaps it would then become "too heavyweight", and that's another CD.

The only Inner Circle album worth owning.......2001-09-24

I can't beleive how raw and dreader than dread this Inner Circle album is!...Whaddya Know!...I never thought i'd ever use the words dread and Inner Circle in the same sentence! This album is as good as it is, in large part because of the production.This is actually two Cds. "Heavyweight Dub" was mixed at Channel One Studios by the Lewis Brothers and Maxie, while Killer Dub was mixed by the legendary Prince Jammy at King Tubby's Studios. Forget about "Bad Boys" and "Da Bomb"' and other such embarassments. This is as good as dub gets. If you're a dub fan, DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS ALBUM!...Jacob Miller would be proud.

Classic rockers dub.......2000-06-04

Excellent Adult orietated Hanukkah CD.......2007-07-15

This is an excellent Hanukkah CD that is NOT geared to the children of the household; and, if you don't have kids, as I don't, that is a plus. This singing is fantastic and it is a really nice CD. Sephardic.

The antithesis of his Industrial roots.......2006-07-02

Chris Watson, former member of Cabaret Voltaire and sometime member of The Hafler Trio left the 'music scene' and reappeared years later with a full-time job doing location recording for wildlife and nature programmes on TV for the BBC in the UK.

This release is also location recordings, closely miked animals such as cheetahs, monkeys and whales. Just look at the track listing and you know what is recorded, but somehow Chris also manages to pull out the unexpected - it's not every day you get to hear these animals from so close. These are superbly detailed recordings, you can feel the breathing of the cheetah.

Buy this for the superb recordings, don't but this is you want another CD of whalesong - this is the real thing!
