Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Great to listen to over and over .........2006-08-30

This is one of Ministry's best compilations .. the mixing was great and the track selection was very impressive. The standouts on Disc 1 are Hear My Name ((remixed by Armand van Helden which is soo better than Linus Loves)), Rocking Music, Give It Away, It's All Vain, Put Em' High, Touch Me, and All Night. Disc 2 was just as great, with a darker trance beat .. Disc 2's standouts were Rock Your Body, Rock ((which is by my fave dj Ferry Corstennnnn <3)), Satellite, As The Rush Comes, Holding Onto Nothing, Back To Basics, Wings Across The Universe, Kiss In Shadows ((remixed by dj Tiesto, of course)), and Sweetest Dreams ((remixed by Ferry Corsten)). All they needed to do was add Armin van Buuren and it would have been a star studded album lol .. anyways, it's highly recommended!!

2 out of 5 stars 1-2 Stars, Terrible. So many songs and only 3 decent tracks out of 40!! Don't buy this! Disc 2 has ZERO worthwhile songs.......2006-08-12

The title says it all. There are two-three good songs on disc one which you may already own, otherwise the remianing songs are terrbile, so bad I didn't bother to rip any on CD 2... I only ripped a few tracks on CD 1. Out of 40 songs, this is a waste of money. There are few CD's I can write this bad of a review, but these are some of the worst dance songs and mixes in a long time. SKIP THIS! Ugh......

4 out of 5 stars Deserves a second listen.......2006-02-28

When I first bought this album I bought it for two reasons: 1 for "Give It Away" by Deepest Blue and 2 for 4 Strings "Back To Basics". Upon my first listen I found that only a handful of songs actually appealed to me. For the most part all of the songs seem to invoke an 80's electro vibe which I didn't find attractive. We've been there already, why try to revisit it? It was when I fell in love with Magnolia's "It's All Vain" that I actually decided to revisit this cd and listen to it all the way through. What I found was actually pleasant and grew on me. There's maybe about six songs worth remembering on the first disc but the second is a gold mine of awesomeness. Get ready to groove with these great tunes!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing........2004-06-20

When I saw the commercials for this CD while watching the Ministry of Sound live online 'TV' broadcast, I was a bit cool in terms of interest. When I spotted it at the store a few days ago, it was the newest thing in stock - So heck, I'd try it out. Popping the CD into my player, I was amazed. I like the 2004 Annual (The UK Edition) alot, but this one is even better. 'Plug it in' by the Basement Jaxx is a definate highlight, But I also found 'As the Rush Comes' by Motorcycle, 'Rock Your Body Rock' by Ferry Corsten, and 'Sunny' by the Boogie Pimps especially good - But, they're just the best of the best, so don't take my praise of those tracks as implying that the rest of them are bad. All in all, this is a great Annual with some stuff you've heard before, and some that's new. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Pop Music Hits (CD1) and 2004 Night-Out Music (CD2).......2004-05-12

The Ministry of Sound has mixed things up again with the Annual Spring 2004. If you like Pop Music, CD1 will find you in a state of reminscence. The first song, Sunny, by the Boogie Pimps is taken from Boney M's version in 1976. Skipping ahead to Touch Me by Angel City (feat. Lara McAllen) brings the Cathy Dennis song back from 1991. It's hard to believe that Fast Car by Tracy Chapman was released in 1988, but oh well. I guess DJ Sharon O'Love does a decent mix. Other songs in CD1 try to bring Disco, 80's and 90's Pop into focus and, for most intents, is done well.
For those of you prepping for a night club outing, CD2 excellently delivers. Ferry Corsten's mix of robotic vocals kinda sets the tempo with Rock Your Body, Rock, but Oceanlab's Justine Suissa brings back the sexy female-vocal songs with Satellite. Jes, the female singer of Motorcycle, follows with track 3 in As the Rush Comes. Excellent start for CD2 ! I would go through each song in CD2, but you'll just have to hear the CD for yourself. One more note, though: Tiesto's remix of Kiss in Shadows for the group M-Box (feat. Tiff Lacey) continues to prove him as Holland's #1 DJ !
