Walking With Ghosts

Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
One of the UK's leading exponents of melodic instrumental music.

David is also co-founder of the ambient band Code Indigo, and of the AD Music record label. You will also find links within these pages to David's own recording studio & Production Company, Ambivalent productions.

David's music is characterized as being "Atmospheric, flirting with the ambient and ethereal, while his melodies contain an affinity for jazz and eastern music influences". (Ambient Visions, USA, 2001)

"His albums, his music, are all journeys which travel with gentle rhythmic motion. He has the ability to combine electronic sonorities with emotional impact and his music is rich with different ideas, minimal contributions, refined ambient tones and elegant melodies". (New Sounds, Italy 1999).

Since his debut album in 1989, David has released many albums, both as a solo performer and with Code Indigo. He has become a respected live performer, and his music has been used by The London Planetarium, British Airways, Sky Sport and European Ferries, to name just a few.

5 out of 5 stars Classic!.......2004-10-17

This is quite simply one of the most beautiful and emotional albums I have ever heard! I cannot find the words to adequately describe the astonishing music to be found here. David Wright's music has always had an emotional element that sets it apart from most instrumental/electronic music, but here, on this album, it trancends anything he's done before. WWG is a quantum leap from ThreeSixZero and from the comments and reviews I've seen, fully justifies all the praise being heaped upon it. The melodies and themes are inspirational, the rhythms varied and catchy (while thankfully never dominating) and the input of various guest artsist on guitars and violin add beautiful textures and layers to the soundscapes. But it's the haunting beauty of the compositions, some excellent piano work and the arrangements that really stand out. In particuar the epic 4 part title track tugs at the emotions unlike anything I've heard in years. There are some darker moments - "No more Angels" with its gentley evocative guitar work for one - but this a fantastic listen throughout and an album that really does deserve the tag "Classic"!
