The 14-song Collection is Written, Arranged, Performed and Produced by Rosie. The California-based Vocalist and Keyboard Player, who Established Herself as a Key Member of Prince's New Power Generation with her Powerful Vocals on Such Songs as 'diamonds and Pearls' and 'nothing Compares Two U', Has Been Writing Constantly Over the Past Five Years. Among her Successes as a Writer Has Been a Grammy-winning Song for Patti Labelle and Other Songs for Mavis Staples. In 2002 She was Featured as a Guest with Snoop Dogg on the Bootsy Collins Album 'play with Bootsy', and Several of the Tracks on her New Album have a Distinct P-funk Influence. In Recent Months the Opening Cut from the Album, 'i Can't Get You off My Mind', Has Become a Firm Favourite of UK Soul Djs Following Its Discovery on the Us Hidden Beach Compilation 'hidden Hits'. The Tracks Range from the Soulful 'wanna Be' to the Assertive, P-funk-influenced 'new Beginning' and 'i'm all Woman', and the Jazzy 'honeychild'.

Rosie Gaines - You Gave Me Freedom.......2004-03-09

Rosie finally delivers her new full album since releasing her excellent release on Motown quite a few years ago. Suprisingly - UK Radio seems to have picked up on this excellent release - Jazz FM even made it their 'album of the week'.

First - the entire album has been produced by Rosie herself. Anyone that bought the first album will be in familiar territory. This is superb soul music which proves that u don't need to work with pharell and co. these days to produce quality music. It Ooozes class - and her voice is something to behold.

This could have been released 10 years ago - which at first is a little niggling. But then you realise - this should turn into one of those great soul abums - which will stand the test of time.
