When the most exciting producer in pop music himself puts out a CD, the thrill is in the discovery: The world may have already suspected that Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, and a small army of other singers owed 75% of their fame to the stockpile of skittering beats Timbaland built and then graciously set them upon, but here's a chance to prove it. Or it might have been in less welcoming hands. Shock Value is a far-reaching and ambitious disc; a masterpiece, even, in its own way. But it's not at all self-centered. If there's a point being put across here, it's that Timbaland came by your vote as behind-the-scenes musical man of the hour honestly: pair him with Fall Out Boy or the Strokes, and he will not only provide tracks that surprise you by maintaining their rock 'n' roll integrity, he will also convince you that shimmer's role in rock music has, to now, been tragically misguided and miniscule. Re-team him with Timberlake and Furtado (for the near-flawless track "Give It to Me") and he will again trade vocal bites, but they will still be nibbly, not voracious. In a CD full of experiments and puzzles (why is Elton John just piano-playing, not singing? And how did the L.A. band One Republic end up on this disc?) a single truth emerges: Timbaland's taste is impeccable, but his judgment is even better. Shock Value, by virtue of its swirly beats and mesmerizing rhythms, will bring him a smidge closer to the spotlight. But because it's a disc of collaborations, he'll retain the shadowy-genius reputation that precedes him, and that he so richly deserves. --Tammy La Gorce

3 out of 5 stars Tasty beats however.......2007-07-23

This is the first hip-hop album that I had ever bought and I'm satisfied with it. I thought this was Timbaland's solo album, but in truth only the first track "Oh Timbaland" can be described as a solo effort. As for the whole album you can expect to listen to the unique beats that is his signature.

As genius as he is in creating beats, he is no lyricist or at least a keen observer of lyrics. Take the first four lines into the song "Miscommunication" which incidentally was not written by him as Timbaland could have suggested better rhymes instead of the ones there.

My favorite among his collaborators in this album is Keri Hilson. Her smooth singing voice provided counterbalance to Timbaland's throaty effort, as evidenced in the track "The Way I Are". Unfortunately I don't feel any chemistry between Timbaland and Hilson as the lyrics would have suggested. Timbaland, as charismatic he can be, just don't have the persona for flirting with a 'co-star'.

Another collaborator worth mentioning is Amar, the British/Indian singer on the track "Bombay". Here I'm particularly fond of Timbaland's accentuation of the upbeats, slight syncopation of the downbeats, added with the otherworldly qualities of Amar's Indian singing style.

The rest of the tracks I'm not really fond of. "2 Man Show" with Elton John for example, feels a bit dry and uninspiring. The tracks with fellow hip-hop collaborators I can't really decide as this is, after all, my first hip-hop album.

4 out of 5 stars One problem.......2007-07-21

Timbaland has a talent for making hits, and there are so many potential singles on this thing it's not even funny. But there are a bunch of filler songs in the middle of the album that are disappointing.

There are a lot of good, fun, danceable songs on this CD, it's just that the bad songs really weigh down the good ones. Tracks 6-10 could've been left out quite easily. Since the cd is 17 tracks long, I'm constantly skipping over those songs to get to the good ones. It's just inconvenient.

Other than that, this is pretty good. Like I said before, it's just annoying to have to skip over a bunch of songs.

Favorites: The Way I Are, Bombay, Throw It On Me, Time, One & Only, Apologize

3 out of 5 stars Shocked at shock value.......2007-07-13

Now, I'm not going to say I didn't like the album. I did like it. But, I just do not feel Timbaland let loose enough.
I think he is a wild stallion, but it just felt like something was pulling back on the reins, something was MISSING.
I can't put my finger on it, but felt this album was...Too controlled to offer an SHOCK to me.
I wanted a cut loose RAW BEAT album.
I was satisfied, but being satisfied means the content was just satisfactory. I want to be satiated. I hope another album is to follow this, I really do. I'm addicted to the beats, Timbaland is EXCELLENT for those. I can't get enough. BUT, please next time don't just shock me.
I want shock waves, electricty to the veins. Maybe next time.

5 out of 5 stars Can't stop Tim.......2007-07-09

This album rocks. I love that Timberland teamed up with all different types of artists. Rock this!

1 out of 5 stars two decent cuts.......2007-06-30

You already know the two good cuts - theyre the singles and fully worth downloading. the rest of the album is disappointing.

in the mid 90s timbaland sounded fresh - had a new style - and was known for his creative beats. you would never know that from this new cd. theres nothing remarkable about the beats - the melodies dominate. do we buy timbaland albums for the melodies? i dont think so.

timbaland isnt trying to impress anyone - and when artists arent hungry and have no one to impress they slack off and make lame albums like this.

Putumayo's Playground series consistently lives up to its name by sending far-flung cultures out to recess, freeing them to reveal their musical fun sides. The metaphor ends there, but the parallel to actual playgrounds doesn't: as any parent who's felt forlorn at times knows, nothing nullifies a dreary afternoon funk more effectively than a trip to the neighborhood playground. So it goes with the series. Animal Playground, the latest to swing, slide, and see-saw its way into agile imaginations of all ages, is a fine-tuned creature feature as playful as a giant-pawed puppy. Even if you don't know what forro is (North Brazilian dance music), or that "Cantigo do Sapo" has something to do with a little singing frog, you'll want to shake a tail feather in time to the beat; that holds for Quartetto Cetra's right-on Italian reworking of "Old McDonald," "Nella Vecchia Farroria." No disrespect to the other exotic offerings here ("Aves," from Honduras, for example), but the English-language songs are most winning of all: Canada's the Be Good Tanyas captivate with "The Littlest Birds," and you can't help but a love a man who cries crocodile tears from his puppy dog eyes, in this case Jon Langford who, when he's not a Wee Hairy Beastie belting out "Animal Crackers," leads the excellent punk/folk band the Mekons. --Tammy La Gorce

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars a wonderful CD of music.......2007-07-28

Parade magazine recommended this CD. It is so fabulous! 5 little monkeys is our favorite song- my daughter (almost 2) always requests "monkey song"- and is elated every time she hears it. My husband and I also enjoy listening to it. I highly recommend it to anyone! We also bought the sing-a long CD- that's wonderful too.

4 out of 5 stars Fabulous songs, but..........2007-06-17

I love this album. I bought it for my daughter (who LOVES the other Putumayo
CDs that she has) and have found myself listening to it without her. "The Littlest Birds" compelled me to order a The Be Good Tanyas album and the "wee bear" in "The Three Little Bears" is adorable. I guess that my only issue with it is that it is sort of a stretch to call all of these songs "animal" songs. For instance, is a dinosaur REALLY an animal. Not REALLY. While all of the songs feature an animal in them, not all of the songs are ABOUT animals. But is is a great album.

Album Description

A mixture of Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz style come together on Latin Jazz, a lively collection of songs by masters of the genre.

The artists featured on Latin Jazz represent an honored cast of musicians ranging from early pioneers of the genre to those who have helped it remain a viable force for more than 60 years. Machito, a contemporary of Dizzy Gillespie and Duke Ellington, was a pioneering bandleader who helped deepen the bond between Afro-Cuban music and American jazz. His classic track "Congo Mulence" opens the album and features fellow jazz legend Cannonball Adderley. Other legendary figures on the album include Tito Puente, whose mastery of the timbales combined with old-fashioned showmanship kept his music fresh and relevant over the years, and Eddie Palmieri, whose piano techniques put him in the same league as jazz legends Thelonious Monk and McCoy Tyner. He teams here with Brian Lynch on "Guajira Dubois," a game of musical tag between Palmieri's piano and Lynch's trumpet.

The driving rhythm behind most Latin jazz comes from its powerful percussion, and Latin Jazz showcases some of the finest in this field. Master conguero (congo player) Poncho Sanchez leads one of the most popular Latin jazz groups in the world. His seasoned ensemble contribute the cool energy of "El Sabroson", while Ray Barretto covers the classic "Summertime." Considered the "godfather of Latin jazz," Barretto was the first Latino to have a Latin hit on the American Billboard Charts.

Other luminaries on the album include Hilton Ruiz, a former child prodigy who appeared at Carnegie Hall at the age of 8, Chocolate Armenteros, the legendary Cuban trumpet player, and Manny Oquendo & Libre, who represent a multigenerational dynasty of Latin music. Icelandic double-bassist Tómas R. Einarsson, and New York icon Chico Alvarez round out the collection.

2 out of 5 stars different but still ok.......2007-07-26

The cd is not bad it just is not that great either. Their debut was much better and I am disappointed on the style change. Hopefully the next cd will be a nice in the middle mix of the 2 styles.

5 out of 5 stars Great album..........2007-07-25

... by a great band. Strata has grown leaps and bounds since their first outing. Check this CD out, you won't be disappointed.

2 out of 5 stars Not horrible, but not good either.........2007-07-18

The last cd, even though it wasn't THAT great, was better than this. It had a few winners on it and of course Piece By Piece. I listened to this knowing it wouldn't be as heavy based on what I've heard but I didn't expect a lackluster outing with no catchiness or hooks. Sophomore slumps.

5 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece From Out Of Left-Field........2007-07-17

The first thing the listener will notice upon their first listen to "Strata Presents: The End Of The World" is that it is a drastic change in direction for the band from their self-titled debut. In fact, the opening track, "Night Falls (The Weight Of It)" doesn't even sound remotely like the Strata we got to know three years prior. So, is this change a bad thing? Absolutely not. Eschewing the alternative hard-rock of the debut for something a little lighter and more experimental makes the emotions of singer Eric Victorino come across much clearer than before and with even more impact. It going to be easier for the bulk of the fanbase to dismiss this album than it will be for them to give it a chance, give it time, and let it sink in. What we have here, in fact, is miles beyond what the band had accomplished before. Much of "The End Of The World" is a concept piece, which can be determined by taking a quick glance at the quirky art that graces the liner notes. But instead of getting angry and political, Strata seem focused on the beauty of life and it's shameful destruction. Songs like "Stay Young" and "Love Is Life" are not just catchy and moving, but also affecting and somewhat haunting. Victorino is truly in top shape here, as the band supplies him with enough hooks and melodies to keep this album in rotation much longer than the average rock record. On the flipside, there is the up-tempo, bizarrely hooky "Cocaine (We're All Going To Hell") and the murky "The New National Anthem," which serve as the darkside to the album. But that's what it's all about. Twists and turns. One minute you're basking in it's glorious, natural beauty, and the next, you're feeling sorry for it. Strata have truly outdone themselves with this record. It may not sound a thing like their debut, but it's a compelling and engaging record that everyone should give a chance. And the best part? It doesn't sound like anyone else out there.

5 out of 5 stars Those knots in your stomach mean you're alive..........2007-07-17

Hopefully the world is ready for Strata, because

like it or not, they are here and they're giving

it to you straight, no blinders and from the

heart. Strata Presents the End of the World is

without a doubt one of the most meaningful albums

released this year. So many words can be used to

describe it from haunting, to untethered, to

inspirational, illuminating and even a word as

simple as real.

The untempered emotion that went into writing

this album is apparent in songs like

Hot/Cold(Darling Don't), Stay Young and Love Is

Life, where we are faced with feelings we've all

had to deal with or will have to deal with at

some point in life and just how deep the

soul-searching has to go in order for us to

survive. The combination of excruciatingly

realistic songs such as Cocaine(We All Go To

Hell) and The New National Anthem, have given

this album an edge on some issues that we are

faced with and so often afraid to talk about.

There is no fear here. There is no turning back.

And if you can listen to this album and walk

away not thinking about it later, there's a good

chance you're already dead.

5 out of 5 stars Suprising.......2007-06-15

After purchasing many compilations I began to fear that I would never again hear a cd as good as my first (Siddharta Vol. 1) but this cd woke me up. Some songs are better than others. "Siempre Me Quedará" for example is one of the best songs I've heard in months and all are consistantly good except for one song called "Carmela" which sounds like something my grandparents would dance to.
When I realised that Putumayo made many discs with many different themes without sticking to 1 theme I assumed it would be commercial and weak, but the disc outdoes most buddha bar or hotel costes compilations!
A great Listen, I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Speak Spanish or Not, This CD is Great.......2007-04-10

I am a Spanish student and am nearly fluent. It's fun to listen to this CD and know what they're saying, but even if you can't speak a word of Spanish, this CD will retain a special place on your shelf (or a permanent place in your CD player). The music varies from tangoes to salsas to mambos. I especially enjoy listening to this CD in my car because... it's just plain fun to listen to.

5 out of 5 stars Smooth and Sexie.......2007-03-13

All the cuts offer a tasty bite of Latin flavor. Latin Jazz and Euro fusion. Great listening music or as a back drop to accent a dinner party. The music is captivating, enchanting, and just a pleasure to listen. This is the kind of music that goes great with a sunset, wine, and a friend.

5 out of 5 stars Learn Spanish and groove at the same time: Latin Lounge.......2007-01-04

I just bought this CD at the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica. It was playing over the loudspeaker in the gift shop and I was hooked. Happy to help the local economy but I could have saved some $ if I had bought it on amazon. This is an amazing CD. Not only is the music great, but you can also improve your Spanish by listening to the lyrics. If you like groovy Latin music, buy this now.

5 out of 5 stars Putumayo.......2006-12-15

PUTUMAYO is awesome music, a real eye opener. Similar in many ways to the BUDDHA BAR approach but different flavour.

Anyone who enjoys this cd may want to try MANU CHAO (proxima estacion ... ESPERANZA) for another trully great Latin American music.

This is definitely one of the easiest CD's to pop in, along with Nuevo Latino .... anytime anywhere ... just makes you enjoy the moment so much more.

Many Putumayo compilations fail to capture the essence of a specific region by focusing on music that is simply too polite for its own good. When it comes to the languid charms of French chanson, however, the label has always excelled. An indispensable companion to the previously released French Café Paris focuses on the renaissance of French popular music in the hands of artists such as the raspy voiced Thomas Fersen, supermodel-turned-songwriter Carla Bruni and the ineffable Paris Combo-- arguably, the one group that started the smoky cabaret song revival in the mid-'90s. An air of luxury and languor defines the 12 tracks here, from the breezy bossa nova of Coralie Clément's "Samba de Mon Coeur Qui Bat" ("Samba of my Beating Heart") to the accordion laced atmospherics of Amelie-Les-Crayons and the wistful "Ta P'tite Flamme" ("Your Little Flame"). Judging by this disc, contemporary French pop may very well be one of the most exciting musical movements in the world right now. --Ernesto Lechner

5 out of 5 stars Now you can always have Paris!.......2007-05-15

This is an outstanding compilation of contemporary French artists who have captured that certain "je ne sais quoi" that characterizes the French "chanson" style of entertainment. The music may be "Nouvelle Scène" but it has that timeless evocative quality from the days of Edith Piaf. Putumayo has produced a real classic for lovers of French music.

My only criticism might be that it's too bad that Putumayo does not include the lyrics to the songs!

5 out of 5 stars Paris, City for Dreamers.......2007-04-11

Yowsa! This album touches a deep chord in my soul...suddenly, I am 20 and Paris is PARIS, the city of romance of my youth...bring on ennui and Francoise Sagan...[sigh]

5 out of 5 stars French Music for YOUR Home.......2007-03-25

I listened to cuts from this CD and Putumya's French Cafe and selected this one! I'm So glad I did. It's the perfect French music to play in a home setting if you want to set a "French" atmosphere. I play it when I cook a fabulous French meal and have friends over for dinner. It does not come off as too cafe-like. Rather just gorgeous, melodic mostly soft French music. Some cuts are a bit more jazzy but still great background music. Some typical "cafe" music is just too much with the accordian already!!! This is not and some "older" French music of this style can drone a bit - this is just pretty with soft vocals - just right for getting you in a French mood!

4 out of 5 stars Cool and seductive........2007-03-10

Why is it so easy to sound cool and seductive when singing in French? The language seems to demand a dulcet, husky singing voice that implies the song was composed, practiced and recorded in a bed.
Packed with some of the best, chilled French café songs of the moment, Paris is this summer's essential for barbeques, soirées, dinner parties or possibly just for those hot nights in.

From Coralie Clément singing seductively about the "Samba de Mon Coeur Qui Bat" to the equally seductive Carla Bruni's "Quelqu'un M'a Dit", Keren Ann's "Jardin d'Hiver" -- which she whispers rather than sings -- and Karpatt's caressed and tapped acoustic guitar, this is a compilation of class and smooth charm.

While Paris recalls the heyday of French chanson it is a thoroughly modern mix from the nouvelle scène. It's entirely easy listening -- nothing from the outer reaches of French culture here.

Part of the proceeds from each CD sold goes to Terre des Hommes, who support disadvantaged children around the world, so you can feel good about your purchase while humming along to the catchy tunes.

5 out of 5 stars Great intro to La Chanson Francaise for the novice..........2007-03-06

If you enjoy music of various world traditions, this album is a fun introduction to chanson, the traditional French music style that emerged between the wars. This album gives a nice diverse palate of contemporary artists celebrating this tradition, sometimes straight up and sometimes with a modern twist.
If you like the songs on this album, definitely check out Rupa and the April Fishes. Rupa Marya is an Indian woman living in San Francisco who sings in French; the April Fishes' music is a jazzy eclectic riff off of chanson, and is definitely 5-star. If it weren't enough that she's beautiful and sings like an angel, Rupa in her "free time" is also a medical doctor. Talk about talent. Check 'em out!

Album Description

America is a huge, diverse country with Yankee home cooking and Tex Mex cuisine. People ski on frozen Vermont mountains and surf the big waves in sun drenched California. One thing that binds it all together is TV. Television is American culture, a common thread that holds it all together on a nightly basis as we assemble around our living rooms to watch our favorite characters and shows.

Twenty years ago, TVT Records was born with its first release, Television's Greatest Hits. Now after having sold millions of its TV theme compilations around the world, America's #1 independent label for the past 4 years running is returning to its roots. In celebration of TVT's 20th Anniversary, it is releasing the ultimate TV collection, All Time Top 100 TV Themes, featuring themes drawn from all the original sources.

Hearing these theme songs consistenly evokes a strong emotional response, pointing to a time when everyone watched the same TV shows again and again. From I Love Lucy and Green Acres to Batman and The Monkees, to Welcome Back Kotter and M*A*S*H to Pee Wee's Playhouse and Twin Peaks to Friends and Six Feet Under, virtually anyone who grew up American watching television is sure to want a nostalgic piece of their shared cultural past.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Tv theme songs.......2007-07-24

I bought this CD because my husband and I were singing TV themes songs to entertain our 3 and 4-year-old boys and I couldn't remember alot of the words. I don't forget them now- and neither do our boys. I keep the CD in my car and whenever the boys are with me, they each have their favorites that they request. It's great!!

2 out of 5 stars Shouldn't Have Been Squeezed on Two CDs.......2007-06-27

As much as I love that they showcased 100 great TV themes, that they are short versions offsets that. The themes for "Friends", "Melrose Place", and "Will and Grace" are over before you can blink an eye! I am particularly disappointed in "The Six Million Dollar Man" theme. It does not include the entire introduction with Steve and the crew communicating during Steve's initial liftoff. Instead, it begins with the crash sound. This collection should really be on 3 CDs, with each theme lengthened to their full potential.

1 out of 5 stars Huge Dissapointment.......2007-05-22

I was very dissapointed with the 2 dvd set I bought on 100 tv themes. they were originals allright, but the songs were just quick soundbytes. they werent full length. The cheers theme is over 2 1/2 minutes long. In this set its only a minute long. Hill st blues the same thing. Good times theme has been reduced to .44 seconds as was mary tyler moore, and many others. They should have made this a 3-4 cd set and included all the songs full length. I never would have bought this had I known they only included 25% of the song length. No one mentioned this on the reviews, I am the only one bringing up this major , major , shortcoming.

3 out of 5 stars television theme songs.......2007-05-17

For some reason, I thought that the tv theme songs would play in their entirety on these CDs. I did not realize that they were the shortened versions designed for tv, i.e., the abbreviated ones we all remember. That being said, the CDs are great for what they are - they are simply not what i had hoped.

4 out of 5 stars A Fun CD.......2007-05-11

My first consideration as to whether or not to buy this CD was to check if the themes from my three favorite shows were included...and there they were; M*A*S*H, Magnum and Moonlighting.

I wish some of the older classics were included such as Bonanza, 77 Sunset Strip, American Bandstand, Mickey Mouse Club and Howdy Doody Time.

The only problem is what would you delete in order to include them. Maybe Six Feet Under and The Banana Splits.

Thanks so much for the Honeymooners, Twilight Zone, I Love Lucy and the Lone Ranger!

This is a fun CD to play and sing along with in the car. Passengers enjoy playing Name That Tune!

The themes may be familiar, but the spirit is fresh: Working with his United Streets D-Boys of America crew, Young Jeezy finds his flow on Cold Summer and has no compunction about settling into it, even when that means his compadres Slick Pulla and Blood Raw get bumped to the side of the beat. From the hot, hooky "White Chick" (street code for cocaine, despite all the shout-outs to Christina Aguilera) to the bangin' second single "Corporate Thuggin'," this is Jeezy's baby--introspective, Jeez-ified joints like "I Keep Tellin' Myself" and "Live My Life" lay street life out for close inspection, and "Check" and "Focus" chug along to characteristically unstoppable choruses. Slick Pulla and Blood Raw step up most notably on "Get It Up" (Pulla) and "Respect the Shield" (Raw), and they give off an energy Jeezy clearly coasts on; overall, though, the title gets it right. Jeezy's doing the presenting here--he's a cool, capable leader in a unit whose players don't yet equal him, but probably will in the space of a few mixtapes. --Tammy La Gorce

2 out of 5 stars Young Jeezy presents U.S.D.A.: Hot Winter.......2007-07-23

We all know who Jeezy is and what were going to get from him so let me enlighten you on the other two members: Slick Pulla and Blood Raw.
Slick Pulla: Prior to this I've heard him on some mixtapes. Even though his rhymes were mediocre he gave Jeezy a run for his money but on here his rhymes are subpar to say the least.
Blood Raw: The worst rap clone in rap history next to The Realest(2pac clone) and Drag-on(DMX's mini me)! He sounds like Snagglepuss and rhymes like Jeezy. I mean heavens to murgatroid since Jeezy wants to sign clones he might as well bury the hatchet with his equally wack archrival Gucci Womane and sign him. There are only two tracks that are worth mentioning. Check is the best song on here and Ride Tonight is okay. The first single White Girl is so stupid one has to wonder how anybody can call it a banger plus the hook is just as silly as the song itself. Classic examples of beatwasting is exhibited on Corporate Thuggin, Get It Up and Focus as all three bust some suspect verses over those dope beats. The original version of Go Getta was nothing to brag about but its better than the lackluster remix with Jadakiss(who had the only decent verse on the track). I Keep Tellin Myself, Pam and Quickie should have been found their way into the studio trash can like this mixtape. Bottom Line: Cold Summer is one of the worst releases of 2007. Young Jeezy, Slick Pulla and Blood Raw busts below average rhymes over dope production(with a few exceptions on the production part) and its safe to say that Jeezy is only going to get worse. Just avoid what comes out of this camp like a rabid dog.

4 out of 5 stars USDA: Hot Summer!!!.......2007-07-06

To eloborate on C. Allen's review... the tracks on this album are bangin'. Coming out of ATL, its refreshing to hear an album that doesnt have a dance to match every freakin song. Young Jeezy successfully kept the same winning formula from his debut album with USDA. He still keeps it as street on this album as he did with his underground mixtapes like "I Am The Street Dream" & "Snowman."

I heard he has a mixtape with Fabolous coming out called "When The North & South Collide Part 2"...should be a banger!!!

5 out of 5 stars Almost got it.......2007-07-04

I gave this a 5 star rating based on the fact it is a mixtape and not an album. If it was an album I would have given it 4 stars but that's besides the point. The USDA did their thing on this album and I'm happy Jeezy introduced them to the public on a commercial standpoint. Like all of other Jeezy related material, there is some solid production. If your not familiar with Jeezy or what he's about then the content of this mixtape may be over your head. Besides that, Jeezy drops some very good verses. Slick and Bloodraw need a little more time to develop.

Some songs I preferred were:
12. I Keep Tellin' Myself, 09. Live My Life, 07. Pam, and 05. Corporate Thuggin'.

5 out of 5 stars YESS SIR!.......2007-06-11

Y.G. iz my dogg on tha real, his beats and lyrics be madd ill-matic, when I heard tha first track I just knew It guna be off tha hook, if u ain't got it now...then wut tha hell r u doin!?!

2 out of 5 stars As a true jeezy fan I give this garbage 2 stars.......2007-06-08

Are you guys serious?!?!?! How can you rate this piece of junk of a cd anything higher than a 2. I am not hating on them, just being honest. There isn't one song on this cd where I caould listen to the whole thing. Jeezy has fell off. If want to hear some real Jeezy music before he got saturated with mainstream, listen to Thug Motivation 101, Boyz N Da Hood album, and the DJ Drama Trap or Die Mixtape.

5 out of 5 stars good memories for me and fun "new" songs for my children.......2007-06-27

We had ordered this for "The Dukes of Hazzard" theme song for our 4yr old and our whole family has fallen in love with the cd. It makes me want to share some of the old fun and simple shows with my children. I forgot about some of those shows. It brings back good memories for my husband and me and the songs are new and exciting for our children. It's a nice change from children's cd's, but our children still think it's fun. The sound quality is good and the songs included on the cd are a great mix. I would definately recommend this one.

5 out of 5 stars memories.......2007-02-22

5 out of 5 stars TV Theme Songs.......2007-01-13

This is a great CD for people who watch a lot of TV -especially TV LAND and reruns of old shows when shows had actual theme songs. I took the CD to work and everyone loved trying to figure out what show the songs were from.

3 out of 5 stars TV themes.......2006-07-05

Not all what I expected, not all of the tunes are the original recordings you remember as the TV themes.

5 out of 5 stars Deja Vu.......2006-02-17

Listening to these familiar themes as performed by the original artists certainly brings back wonderful memories! I was particularly pleased, not only with the quality of the pieces, but with the actual performances themselves, just as we remembered them!

Here's a likable roundup for anyone who failed to connect with the family music bandwagon when it first rolled into homes five years ago. Some of the coolest players in the crop contribute to Putumayo Kids: Dan Zanes and Friends' "Bushel and a Peck," Rosie Flores' spirits-to-the-sky "Red Red Robin," and Taj Mahal's gruff "Don't You Push Me Down," all sound out for the world that sweetness and simplicity, paired with the right lyrics add up to perfection. The title suggests singing along, but that's strictly optional. Unlike other samplers that collect catchy songs under that banner, listening along with Putumayo is a lot of fun too, especially given that you're provided with liner notes that list lyrics as well as song meanings in English, French, and Spanish. It should not be overlooked that gazing at this package is satisfying in itself. The Putumayo people consistently captivate with their earthy, whimsical covers, and Sing Along is no exception. --Tammy La Gorce

Product Description

5 out of 5 stars Awesome music for kids & adults.......2007-07-21

This is our favorite CD and I don't mind playing it over & over in the car. The songs and artists are enjoyable for everyone. My 19 month old daughter requests the tracks by name. Her current favorites are "Old MacDonald" and "Banana Phone".

5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD for kids that you won't get tired of listening to........2007-01-22

This CD has great music, lyrics, and it's not like other kid's music that you want to throw out the window if you have to listen to it again and again. It's a must have!

5 out of 5 stars My kids love it!.......2006-06-14

I'm happy to say this is one my kids love. I even caught my 4-yr old daughter in the room "singing" along. It is one of the few cds that they request. Realy nice. Just one note: if you own Daddy-0 (various artists perform Woody Guthrie music) then you will find a track or two familiar. The flavor of the cd is similar as well. If you mix your own cds for the car, etc. the two would work really well together.

5 out of 5 stars Family Favorite.......2006-03-18

My grandparents sent this as a gift for my daughter's 2nd birthday. We listened to it on a 10 hour road trip and none of us tired of it. In fact, it's been in my car's CD player for 2 years and we listen to it all the time. The songs are not like the Wiggles or other similar artists. Everyone can enjoy them and sing along.

I bought this for my friend's daughter. I know she'll love it as much as we have.

5 out of 5 stars Totally Excellent.......2006-02-22

The music on this CD is excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes music as well as anyone who has children or grandchildren. The messages in the lyrics are uplifting and confirming, the professional level of the musicians is first rate, and the enjoyment factor cuts across all ages.
