Customer Reviews:
One of my top ten electronic albums.......2007-03-31
This album is superb. For me, it ties Big Loada for Squarepusher's best album, both of which are on my "top ten of all time".
This one really grew on me.......2006-07-10
I used to have a tendancy to give great albums 5 stars. But a 5 star album has to be mind mending. This is a great album. I used to try to look for something specific when listening to this, but this is NOT a regular drum and bass album. If you're like me and expected to hear the kind of music you hear on Squarepusher's remixes, you will not find it here. This is a lot deeper. It's not just bob your head or dance music. It's a complete experience. Squarepusher shows some amazing production techniques especially with the drum samples. His atmospheric work on each track is very good too. If you really want to hear this album for what it is, you have to hear the whole thing at least a few times. Just the 30 second samples won't do it. I am looking forward to hearing more from Squarepusher, for sure.
AMAZING.......2006-05-14
what more can I say? Minus the last track, this is pure, untamed, genius! Check YouTube to see Tom pitch bend E8Boogie while making puky faces in his studio. Amusing. not amazing
one of his best.......2006-05-08
if you dig electronica with some jazzy elements sprinkled on top, this is the album for you. squarepusher never releases a bad album, and this is one of my favorites by him. highly reccommended for anybody who has any appreciation for either electronica or jazz. very well-crafted without any filler or bad tracks. bursting with original ideas.
YES.......2006-03-06
Another superb release by Tom,I think this release is ok it's no Go Plastic or Big Loada but I still like most of all Jenkinson's work so far. If you like decent music pick this up.

transitional creation.......2001-11-06
Three years ago, this album would have had 5 stars no question. At the time there was nothing like it. There still really isn't anything like it.
But what's happened now is that Squarepusher has put out Go Plastic. And Go Plastic is his absolute best album, and this one begins to look a little clunky and malformed. Some of the songs are total classics, and others are like murky sketches.
If let's say you're on a Squarepusher bender, and have already heard GO PLASTIC and MUSIC IS ONE ROTTED NOTE (his two most radical poles, GP being such a totally solid digital work, and M.I.O.R.N. being such a Miles Davis acoustic sh*tstorm), and you've already wasted your Xmas money on Feed Me Weird Things and Big Loada, then I'd definitely suggest you could max your Visa on this guy.
Because it's still good, don't get me wrong. It's just really not his best work. This is kind of obvious, I think, if you were to compare. It's a high altitude work compared to so much music out there, but on a Squarepusher scale, this is not too spanky. It's a transition work.
all the best,
Squarepusher's best as of yet.......2000-07-05
I have this, Feed Me Weird Things and Rotted Note. This is without a doubt the best of the lps. I was relieved to hear its not much like Rotted Note (which I find horrid and nigh unlistenable). I like Feed Me alot, but this is a definite improvement on that. Great CD, if you like Aphex's RDJ check this out.
When it comes down to it.... ALL Squarepusher is the best!.......2000-05-15
Squarepusher by far is the most talented idm drum and bass artist there is. I don't know what one reviewer was talking about Hard NOrmal Daddy being better than burningn' tree, since Burningn' Tree and Feed Me Wierd things are tied for the best two albums ever (oh, w/ autechre's incunabula). But this comes in a close second tied with the infamous Big Loada. From the chill jazzy bass lines to begin the album, Jenkinson doesn't dissapoint. Then the album goes into extreme chaos (#5) yet in a maticulously organized manner. Then he tracends into pure medium to hard leveled drum and bass, vic acid, rustic raver, Papalon. You know, Tom has signed with Nothing, Warp records, worked with ninja tune, chocolate industries, schematic, YET still no one partakes in the best artist on all those labels. Jazzyier and more funky than autechre or aphex twin, but certainly worth the effort. Bravo to squarepusher for this diamond in the ruff.
The essential squarepusher.......2000-03-29
This is the sht! All of squarepusher's stuff roks, but this is the definitive album. Chin Happy (track 5) is completely insane and defines musical psychosis.
A great combination of soothing melodies and jolting beats.......1999-08-23
From the initial note on this record (the upbeat "Cooper's World") I was amazed by the well-thought-out complexity of the beats created by Tom Jenkinson, as well as the perfectly executed bass grooves on tracks such as "E8 Boogie" and "Fat Controller". By the album's end the first time around, I had to push replay, and that's when I started to really hear how much work obviously went into this record. A true work of art, too bad it's not more widely available here in the USA.
