Fabric 19

Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
In the late ‘80s, Weatherall founded a fanzine called Boys Own and soon established himself as a leading DJ in London’s acid house scene. That association led to him remixing and working with the likes of New Order, Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, Beth Orton, and Paul Oakenfold. Weatherall formed The Sabres of Paradise with Jagz Koomer and Gary Burns in 1993 – which released a series of pioneering, ambient experimental techno singles and EPs. Then in 1996, he formed perhaps the most exceptional musical venture, Two Lone Swordsmen with Keith Tenniswood, where the group has done a number of EPs and remixes (including Slab, Alter Ego, Sneaker Pimps, and David Holmes).

Product Description
Andrew Weatherall, the well-respected DJ, producer and collaborator, presents Fabric 19.

Fabric 19’s inspiration came after a recent DJ set at Fabric nightclub, where Weatherall began to set aside any deep and sleazy house tracks at home – the end result is a mix that features electro, acid, house, techno, schaffel, synths, and electric guitars.

1 out of 5 stars Fly Away MC.......2007-05-24

You have to be into MC's to like this one. Personally I think MC's degrade the essence of any original electronica track through their voicing over of senseless lyrics that end up white-washing the actual music.

In addition to bad lyrics, why does the MC feel it necessary to remind the crowd/listener that they are the "Freestylers!". At least every 5 minutes by my count. Pretty cheesy.

1/5 stars for this dismal album.

5 out of 5 stars Fabriclive. 19.......2007-01-19

One of the best breakbeat compilations I've heard in years. MASSIVE. I also recommend " Breakpoll 1 by BREAKFASTAZ ".

5 out of 5 stars fabriclive Freestylers.......2006-07-29

If you want a mix of breakbeats and rap this is it! breakbeats are solid and well done with just enough rap and lyrics to keep things interesting.

5 out of 5 stars Music for the Peak.......2006-04-27

Having not owned a single Freestylers mix or album nor a disc from the Fabriclive series, I took the leap with this album as my first. From track #1 to track #23, this disc, the mix, and the mood only go from great to fantastic.

I could not be happier with my purchase.

If you like breaks or music that is on at the best clubs during the peak between 12am and 4am you will enjoy this disc. This is simply one of the best albums I have purchased in at least the last 6 months. :) Take the leap. You'll be grooving from the moment you insert the disc.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic stuff -- what dance music is all about..........2005-03-02

this is fantastic stuff..from the opening remix of their very own 'BoomBlast' to reggae inspired 'Put up your hands'..its a toss and tumble into the freestyler's breakbeat world..all done with style and ferocity...Thump your fist in da air and just groove...

5 out of 5 stars yes,, this is a great album..........2006-02-25

yes this is not a typical mix,, this is good, even my gf, that dont like most of the electronic music I hear she love this album... if you hesitate try listening track 7 8 9 and 10,, that is the core of the mix, strong, fun and danceable,,, i recommend completely...

4 out of 5 stars Freaky diki bubblin' acid house-.......2005-02-22

The guy from Wisconsin is right, god bless. The first song, "I Need a Freak", pretty much sets the tone for this wacky acid house set, that starts electro-bubbly, goes dark pop, and mutates into dance rock. This mix may not send you into orbit and at times can be repetitive, but you will always be strangely compelled by it. You know you have something special when your nodding to a cheerful electro melody backed by vocals like, "We have friends in the darkness. Three hands underground..." Yay! Acid house fans don't miss this one.

5 out of 5 stars Not your average mix album.......2005-01-15

I know a lot of you out there are like me and probably reading this, saying to youreself "Theres so many mix cd's that don't sound much different, all the same (*&**@,". If thats you then this is the right cd to get. Really I dont even know who this guy is, my gf got this for me and I was thinking its probably just some trancey same ol same ol but I was deffinately mistaken. She lives in the UK so I got it before it was released in the states. Anyway, I remember listening to this and just thinking, wtf genre is this, and I love that. You can't really categorize it, and that gets this mix high marks from me. I never write any reviews, but had to on this one, really people, its really cool and just sounds different, original. Do youreself a favor, pick er up eh.
