5 out of 5 stars A landmark release from the best Drum and Bass band.......2005-09-26

Tony `London Elektricity' Colman is among the most prestigious producers in the drum and bass industry. Being a great idealist, he has always strived to give drum and bass a unique twist. London Elektricity is the first real drum and bass band. And "Billion Dollar Gravy" has that live-band flavor. It is a truly musical album; stylish and unique.

The extraordinary musical talent behind Colman and team is reflected in the impressive 70-minute long Billion Dollar Gravy. Instant classics like "Billion Dollar Gravy", "The Great Drum and Bass Swindle", "Cum Dancing", "Different Drum", and all the tracks are a combination of jazzy percussion, classic strings, astonishing basslines, and melodic choruses and verses.

The delivery is almost impeccable; everybody plays their part right. The Jungle Drummer is impressive at the drums, Liane Carrol brings the best out of the melodies with here heavenly voice, Andy Waterworth plays the basslines perfectly, Tim Land `Landslide' is really a human sample, and Colman makes the final arrangement flawlessly. This album is the best drum and bass release of the decade so far and only comparable with early classics like Adam F's `Colours' and Roni Size & Reprazent `New Forms'. The drum and bass world had been waiting for years for a real artistic and musical release; luckily for us, it has finally arrived.

4 out of 5 stars Great Beats/Loops; Why the Vocals?.......2005-05-13

The parents of Hospital, London Elektricity's 2nd full length disc is a great album (looking forward to September 2005). But, although the "instrumental" part of each track hits (Jungle Drummer), the vocals leave much (too much) to be desired. "Stone cold sober... I want to dance to the beat of a different drum!" "They tell me life is beautiful. Life is a beautiful thing." What? Please, keep to the fantastic beats. Compared to what's out there, still worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars Great album.......2004-06-21

Great album, some amazing songs, like: Different Drum, Main ingredient, Cum Dancing

5 out of 5 stars Unbelieveable.......2004-05-15

This is some of the most original drum'n'bass I've ever come across. I have been listening to the album over and over... Not only is it original, but the production is amazing, it's got soul, and many songs are recorded with an orchestra, which makes for some really interesting d'n'b. Tony Colman has put together an amazing group that makes for a great combo. Jungle drummer produces sharp cymbals and deep bass hits in tight beats. The vocals of Robert Owens and Liane Carrol are soulful and original. Another incredible thing about London Elektricity is that they have a live act... I can't imagine how awesome it would be to see them live. I think it certainly makes a difference for electronic music when a group of people are involved in making it. That combined with Tony Colman's musical genius are what make LE so incredible.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant.......2004-05-11

Really very nice and good. One of the better D 'n' B Albums to be put out in recent times. Best tracks Track 2, 7, and 10. Have a listen and go BANANAS. Also check out Breakbeat Era, Shapeshifter (NZ), and Pacific Heights (NZ).
