Album Details

The Chilean Group Formed in 1965 Writing Lyrics Inspired by Social Issues Related to Its Country and Combining them with Autochthonous Musical Arrangements. In 1966, the Band Came in First Place at the Festival De Festivales, Releasing Its First Album that Same Year. Folk Singer and Songwriter Victor Jara Helped the Band by Promoting Quilapayun's Music and Making the Record Canciones Folkloricas De America Together. As Chilean New Song's Ambassador, Quilapayun Went on Its First European Tour in 1968. Due to Chilean Political and Social Changes in the Early '70s, the Group Settled in Foreign Countries for More Than a Decade.

Sash! is back in a big way. This single of his is jammin' awesome. Nice melody and awesome synths. What more can you ask for? However, I did not like the male vocals especially the person who reads the text part of the track. Everything else is fabulous. I can't wait till I buy the new album 'Trilenium'. I heard the samples of all the traxx on the CD and except one (which shouldn't be there anyway) all are simply fabulous. This album is much much better than the predecesors. Look out for the album, fans and also the new single "Just around the hill". I love Tina Cousins vocals on that song.

simply put,this cd single along with william orbit's barbers adagio for string's is one of the best songs of the new millenium.love the upbeat tempo which keeps on getting stronger. sash is the best.

Very Nice CD.......2002-12-13

I stumbled into this one in the music store, hearing it overhead in of all places, the dance/dj section. This isn't dance/dj at all really - except for maybe the last few tracks.

Audio Lotion is a group based out of Switzerland focusing on Latin vocals, styles and rythms. They're on the same label that brings Yonderboi and De-Phazz into the picture as well as the "Batucada" compilations.

I really am enjoying this album. After hearing Azud de Voce on the overhead at the store, I was very intrigued to figure out who this was - and when the next few songs came across, I had to get it. As for the sound - I honestly think it is a bit "contemporary". Good, easy going instrumentation, light and delicate vocals through and through. From the second track, Azul De Voce, you get a feel for the album and the style. To me, the album and tracks remind me of a mature story in the big city... if that makes sense.

The strength of this cd is definitely in the middle IMO. As Velas (the Candles) is a romantic, downtempo track that flows perfectly into el Insecto, a lazy, sleepy summer time track. Then it's onto a nice, upbeat track in "another bossa" before kicking off into a "quaint" track, tao delicado".

I recommend this cd. Good sound-quality, and tt's one that would easily fly under the radar. However it is kind of like "one of those cd's that was playing when i was in Borders Book Store" too...
