Editorial Reviews

Product Description
When you first listen to A Skillz & Krafty Kuts’ brand new album Tricka Technology it’s obvious that friendship is crucial to the success of this partnership.

At 21, A. Skillz is the younger of the pair but his scratch-tastic deckmanship has already made him a force to be reckoned with amongst turntablists. A drummer ever since he could hold sticks, he’s played in rock, soul and funk bands as well as doing remixes for the DMC Phat Bass compilations and providing beats and studio service to several top drum and bass producers. Krafty Kuts is widely regarded as a deck wizard. Self taught, skilled and influenced by the ghetto sheiks of the 80’s, Krafty Kuts took the next step and started making his own music. From the moment Norman Cook aka FatBoy Slim signed his first ever track to his label, Southern Fried, Krafty Kuts’ reputation was set. He was recently named one of the Top 100 DJs in the world for the third time running by DJ Magazine and won Best International DJ at the Australian Dance Music Awards.

Now with the A Skillz & Krafty Kuts debut album set to drop on Finger Lickin’ Records in September, the future certainly looks bright for the pair. With their influences ranging from Kraftwerk to James Brown, The Commodores to De La Soul, the album promises to be a nu-skool Hip Hop adventure. Enlisting the talents of some of the world’s best hip hop and funk artists, Tricka Technology just oozes a party-rockin’ vibe. Droop Capone, Ashley Slater (Freak Power), Real Elements, Kurtis Blow, TC Izlam (son of Afrika Bambattaa) and Dr. Luke have all collaborated here with the result being a release full of Hip Hop beats, party tunes, deck tricks and spontaneous skits.

Some good content. still relatively rough around the edges, but holds some sick jams, with some tight beats. i would recommend buying if you want to show off some underground flavour to your friends however doesn't hold enough for continous listening.
