Tokyo Sound.......2004-10-28

I recently visited Tokyo for the first time, and it is only now, after having gone there that I feel like I fully understand this album.

Makoto was born, raised, and is based there so it is understandable that the influence of this great city comes shining through in his music. This CD is Tokyo. It has the energy, the complexity, diversity, and its great charm. Every time I listen to it, I see the Neon of Shibuya, and the the whizz of the trains (amoung other things). This is Tokyo Sound.

This is a great CD for anyone new to the drum and bass sound- many elements of other genres like jazz and r&b make it easy to listen to. I even have my 50 year old Mom into it!

I am dissapointed that this is his only CD (other than Progression Sessions 9) and that there IS NOT MORE D&B put out by the Japanese.

I am also dissapointed that on my trip to Tokyo, I missed seeing Makoto live by just 2 weeks...arrg! Well, for now I can atleast enjoy the sounds of his Tokyo Human Elements. This is a unique album that should not be passed-up. One of my current favourites.

An excellent album. I played this in the music store I worked at and no less than 4 people asked who it was-and they didn't all hear the same song!

I love the whole album, but my absolute favorite tracks are Time(all 3 styles come together on this one), Seventy Three Jam, Sky High, and Take My Soul Baby.....

5 Stars, without a doubt. Get this CD, you won't be disappointed!

If you are a fan of drum 'n' bass, this is a must have! I must warn you though. It is more in the soft genre of drum 'n' bass. I would call it a mixture of soulful beats with a nice blend of drum 'n' bass. It could also be categorized as a kind of acid jazz meets Vikter Duplaix meets drum 'n' bass. A modern blend of ol' time acid jazz with an input of the sound of Vikter Duplaix and the drum 'n' bass rhytms. I would recommend this to anyone. Real nice release!

Every single piece tells a different story and evokes memories to finally help integrate them into the present. Great, sensitive compositions. I like to encourage 'Fix the Human' to continue the journey.

An Exciting World of Quiet and Intense Passion.......2002-01-16

Finally someone has delivered to today's music listener music where elements of
sensuality combine with that ever-so -hard to define "dream world" which, in turn
combine with the exoticness of points east or the south pacific - so that our desires
and our dreams all at once are transported to the world's most charming and
romantic locales. With all of the magic of a snake charmer in India "Fix the
Human" on the CD called "Drift" can both lure and carry you and your wildest
dreams along with your lover to a sidewalk cafe in Paris and then to a Tahitian
beach. The wind instruments used serve to entice us while the beautiful guitar work
lulls us to a whole new and better world of fantasy and passion. I can't wait to hear
more from this quietly titillating group - "Fix the Human" My advice to all you
hopeless romantics is buy this CD "Drift" now!!!

Wow....this is my new music for Sunday mornings; it's perfect for those times when I'm wanting to stay relaxed, mellow, serene and in a weekend frame of mind. (I'll also be taking a copy to my next Reiki session!)

I listen to this CD over and over and over on a daily basis. It's THAT great. It's not merely relaxing background music, it's more like a great dream from which you don't want to wake up. At work it creates such a peaceful halo around my desk, but I would love to have it on as I drift off under a one hour massage, or while curled up with a book at 2 AM. Anyone that listens to Hearts Of Space on NPR should own a copy of this.
