First to tell you.......2004-07-24
It is a highly well put together music of mystery. It is in many cases French, no wonder these guys are!:D The melody, which is always present in this music haunts your every step. And the technical qualities are the kind which you will hear on a 'live electronic bands' album. The sounds are easily distinguished between each other, and the clarity throws you back to the walls.
Also there is a bit of attitude and edgyness that follows these tunes. The kind of edgyness that can give you goosebumps with its purified-sounds and very 'good' (love-good) melodies. But then you will feel somewhere else, as if your reality is a tiny bit turned. Really great for any environment.
1. Opening theme. A new age break-beat with sliding percussion, the kind that sort of sounds like a current of fast air escaping. Very determined melody of one of those youngsters' sounds that kind of works like a bassline. Not too long until the true bass comes in with a dreamy synth.
2. Place, Race & FAce sounds dangerous with its panicing bass, but there is a kiddish melody that makes you feel all freakishly happy:DDD Very cool opposites. There is also a bunch of stuff happening that is just underscribable and better explains itself while listening. Or mamybe I am just lazy about writing a whole report on every track. A few more. 'Place, Race & FAce' has been a single that many djs took their courageous chests to spin for already over a year.
3.Rasberry fields posesses a true youngsters' bassline, it is a continuous pulsing note that by itself also waves and shines in different ways. A 'dark-night' melody takes you on a very strangely historic drive wherever.
4. Confidential music, also a single has a timeless sound of no style, for styles are far behind when you are listening to these F com tracks. Everything, that could make this sound better, is mixed in. This particular tune has several vocals just saying phrases, very well done sounds and everything like that, c'mon is this nessesary, we are talking about The Youngsters here, not DJ Dice!
From now on, whatever else I will describe, just keep in your head that everything is done here with passion, love, and a little mystery, all awesome, ready to be perfect.
5. The Pink Sox is a piece made mostly of powerful, emotional strings and some very nice liquid work.
6. Cafe de la Poste is probably the brightest one yet, meaning happier than the rest, equally beautiful. Piano. Strings. Beaty. Not beauty. Although that too.
7. Alright, moving on to 'Laptop Week-End' it is a relaxing track with a lazy melody that for some reason reminds me of long tongues. A very cooperative bassline that does not interfere with the mood that is slowly being put over your eyes with alien sounds and a sax. Interesting how would this sound on a beach in the Sun?
8. A harmless but powerful tune called 'Curtains'. FOr all of us who love the underground this album is bliss. Probably the weakest part of the cd, but still rocking!
9. Mellotron. You just have to listen:)
