5 out of 5 stars non stop up-beats.......2004-02-03

it took a while but i finally tracked down this set. as a electronic music fan, and i don't mean getting all my rave candy out and rolling the night away. good music doesn't need drugs to elevate the feeling you get from killer beats. tested true and pru-ven slinky has some dope tracks, like other reviews the 2nd disc is a little slow, but after hearing the first it is understandable why some think this way. the total package (2discs) are unbelivable. i actually went through trouble finding it. so if your into great electronic music that touches on all types of techno/club beats. sign yourself up for the slinky experience. note there are a couple different slinky sets available the set i write on is the: slinky inter-continental (import) so enjoy this start to finish masterpiece of head moving rythms

4 out of 5 stars Slinky Intercontinental.......2002-01-03

This is the second best Slinky compilation, next to the original. The first disc has alot of energy. The second disc is more ambient and emotional. The Sister Bliss remix on this album is incredible, but remeber, it always takes a couple of listens to really hear what I am talking about

5 out of 5 stars "music is a celebration of life...celebrate the life!".......2001-04-05

I have been around the world and seen many "live" acts in most of the major cities, most of the major clubs and countless raves (US,Europe,Africa,Canada). I have seen virtually all popular dj's live and their interpretations of techno music. This is by far one of the best compilations and interpretations of trance music in general next to a few rare Gatecrasher sets, some of Oakenfolds live "Essential Mixes", PVD and Tiesto (live). Any one who is still developing ears for trance music may not be able to hear these CD's yet, it IS deep, give it time. I know this because I have been creating underground techno music for years... the music in these CD's posess ingenious complexities many of which have to be witnessed personally to be truly appreciated. Unfortunately many are not that fortunate so you have to "use the force" and feel them while listening (minimum of 120dbs) ;-). It's quite simple: if you like trance period, you will not waste your money on this CD set.

P.S. MAJOR shout out to Slinky and crew...ONE for a wonderful vibe when I visited, and TWO for this material (it is pure gravy baby)...looking foward to the new release!!!

3 out of 5 stars One out of two ain't bad.......2000-12-03

The first disc is best of the two. You might as well put that second disc under your drinks. To be fair though, there IS one good song, that happens to be Delerium's classic "Silence" remixed by DJ Tiesto (by the way, anything DJ Tiesto touches turns to gold, so I recommend you pick up anything that has to do with him).

Having limited words, I'll mention the good tracks. Disc 1: #1. A nice, soft opener that is sort of similar to anything ATB does. #2. Shows the first signs that this compilation is beginning pick up the pace. #3. A popular hard trance tune that's difficult not to listen to. #4. The trance gets a little deeper (without being too light). #6. One of the best songs on Slinky, Starchild's "Redemption." I compare it to Blank & Jones' "Cream"(ATB remix, of course). #9. Another of the best on this compilation. #10. A very Yomanda-like tune, so you know what to expect. #14. This one is the best of the compilation. I heard it at club (Studio54 in Las Vegas) and was in search of it ever since. Look for the extended single as well. #16. It's Yomanda, 'nuff said. #17. A techno-trance tune that pumps viciously, and pratically oozes adrenaline.

Disc 2: Is nothing but ambient trance. I like ambient trance, but I like GOOD ambient trance. Aside from Track #9, there's not much volume here. Disappointing to say the least, especially after listening to energy-soaked Disc 1.

If you can quickly forget about the misery that is Disc 2, then I HIGHLY recommend that you pick this up.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent CD!.......2000-12-03

Highly recommend CD2. Some of the best deep house I have heard thus far. If you're not into the cheesy techno, this is the best Slinky in the collection.
