I bought this on a whim in a local music store and have now come back and purchased the first Cafe Roma from Amazon ...

Vol 2 is very cool ... my wife instantly liked it ... she's an excellent dancer and is into latin jazz music , samba , etc ..

The Cafe Roma series provides excellent sexy-cool, upbeat background music for parties ... the ladies dig it ;-)

Better than the Hotel Costes series ...

OKAY, WATER MUSIC, CAN WE PLEASE MOVE ON TO SOMETHING ELSE??.......2004-08-10

I was once a big fan of the Water Music record label until I discovered that every compilation CD they put out started to sound alike and really didn't veer too much from each other. For example, WM's Chill Out Lounge series sounded like Ultimate Chillout and Ultimate Chillout sounded like Pure Chill Out and Pure Chill Out sounded like Chill Out in the City and on and on and on! Now Cafe Roma 2 has been released, and boy, does it sound like Water Music's Jazz Lounge 2--both which showcase a lot of bossa nova (maybe too much), samba (waaay too much) and "Italian" jazz, much to which has already been heard a million times before on other stuff this label has released. CR 2 does have some redeeming qualities with an impressive disc 1 from virtual unknown artists, but disc 2 meaders in and out with songs that begin to sound redundant. If you've heard one bossa cut you've pretty much heard them all. But it's not a totally bad 2-disc set..in fact, it's ideal for dinner party's and for play when you're cleaning up the house.
