Two Great Songs, and a Whole Lot of Filler.......2002-05-22
Optimistic.......2001-04-17
Just when we in The States thought we had another one-hit wonder on our hands, Livin' Joy showed their hand. The CD is a great effort, though rather commercial dance music. The lyrics are a little over-the-top with the messages, but if you can get passed that (or if that's your cup o' tea) the music is quite enjoyable and very easy to dance to. My favs are "Don't Stop Moving," "Don't Cha Wanna," "Follow The Rules" and of course "Dreamer." In fact, "Dreamer" STILL gets me going. It's a classic that will always have us "Moving."
Unusually Satisfying and Solid.......2000-09-13
As most dance music groups are single oriented- rather than album oriented - you might think the album would run out of steam. Happily, with Livin' Joy this is not the case. Not only will you find those two club smashes, but also a compitent album that has infectious grooves, solid house/techno rhythms, and soaring and passionate vocals throughout.
The musical formula employed (heavy bass line, chiming effects, etc...) is similar enough to tie the album together but is craftily handled to prevent the feeling you've just bought one big remix of "Dreamer".
Other notable cuts on the album are "Follow The Rules", a cut with an infectious keyboard hook, "Be Original", a mid-tempo cut with uplifting lyrics, and a love it/hate it cut titled "Don't Cha' Wanna" with some smile inducing scat singing and sweeping bass-line.
Complimenting the catchy grooves are some of the most uplifting lyrics heard in dance music in a long time - the ideas are not groundbreaking - as in "Be Original", "Don't Stop Movin'/live your life/keep on movin'/get it right" "Follow The Rules of Life/and do the right thing" - but it makes me feel up to the challenge when I hear it. In fact, I sometimes put this one on JUST for some inspiration.
If you buy this CD, you'll like this CD.

Hmm...what do we have here? .......2007-07-12
1. Don't Stop Movin' (5/5) Their biggest hit in the U.K., disco never felt so good in this up beat and extremely danceable song. The lyrics are kind of simple as the band professes "Don't stop moving / Can you feel the music / DJ's got us going around." Still good, nonetheless.
2. Whole Lotta Nothin' (4/5) A little slower than the first track. Lyrics are definately clever, especially the chorus. "No class / No pass / no room for you." It has more of a disco meets salsa beat which makes this an odd, yet standout track with Jo on lead.
3. Do It Til We Drop (4/5) The lovely Rachel Stevens takes lead on this uptembo bubbly track. Things definately get interesting in the middle 8 when the beat fades for a few seconds and then comes back in full force! As for the lyrics, they are not the most creative, especially with Brad's rap, but they are passable.
4. You (2/5) Major misstep for the group. Granted it was chosen as the theme song for their TV show, it's painfully irritating for some reason. Trying to follow up with wicked beats from Don't Stop Movin' and Do It Til We Drop, this just falls flat. The only saving grace about this song, is that Jon, Jo, Brad, and Rachel get to share the lead vocals. Poor Hannah and Tina. :(
5. Have You Ever (5/5) Finally! The first ballad on the album and Jo is consistent with her pipes on this Children In Need No. 1 hit. More mature song for the group with deeper lyrics. "Have you ever felt your heart was breaking / looking down the road you should be taken / I should know / Cos I loved and lost the day I let you go."
6. Gangsta Love (10/5) WHOLY COW! Insane lyrics, insane beats from out of this universe, and the wickedly sexy vocals from Rachel definitely heat up this track! This should have been released as a single for the group and would have been a touchdown! "Soul apple in every bite / whenever you're rub-a-dubbing / pineapple is playing all night / he's the one / he's the one baby"
7. Alive (4/5) Disco returns with this predictable track from the group. It was smart to do another disco-esque track after the major success of "Don't Stop Movin'" but making it sound almost identical to it was a crime. Jo and Brad are on lead vocals, but I think it would sound better if Jo didn't overshadow every one else on the chorus.
8. Show Me Your Colours (10/5) Simply beautiful! Rachel makes her voice more husky and deep on this track which is definitely ace! The beat is more relying on guitars rather the usual bleeps and blips which makes this track even more listenable. The song is mostly sung in a rap like style "like a cover for the cold in the outside / making love by the candlelight" as it smoothly slows down right before the chorus kicks in. Simply beautiful!
9. Dance (2/5) Mere filler. It's almost like Simon Fuller told them "We need more danceable tracks" and out of ideas, they created this. Jo's voice is way too high in the chorus and Brad tries his best with the verses, but I always skip this track.
10. The Greatest (3/5) A cover of the song from Scene23. I have to say that Jo should have been replaced by Rachel on lead vocals. Rachel's voice can go lower than Jo's and would have made this track more enjoyable. The beat is definitely better than "Dance," and the lyrics are more improved too.
11. Sunshine (5/5) Jon tests his pipes on this laid back acoustic like track and it pays off! "Now that we're together / everything can only get better." Like the title of the track, this song is uplifting and awe inspiring. Excellent track.
12. Dance, Dance, Dance (5/5) I actually like this track. The disco beats are back, but instead of having Jo and Brad leading, we get Hannah! Her voice fits the beat perfectly and while the chorus is generic with it's repetition of "Dance! Dance! Dance!" it is definitely something that will be stuck in your ear long after the CD is over.
13. Who Do You Think You Are? (5/5) Ace! I love how the song starts with minimal beats with Jon's verse and then they are put into full affect with Brad leading the second half of the first verse. Once again, the chorus is not too creative, but nonetheless a worthy track from the group. Extremely danceable and we finally hear Tina on this CD! :)
14. Straight From the Heart (4/5) A very simplistic ballad that brings closure to the album. Jo's pipes are fantastic, especially on the middle 8 and the final chorus. "Hold me now / Don't ever let me go / I'm in love with you / But you all ready know / I want this love to last forever."
Only if this CD would last forever. Unfortunately, no effort was made what so ever by the music company to promote this album in the U.S. which is a darn shame. But with the Spice Girls reuniting, we may have hope that S Club 7 too, will reunite, after the lukewarm sales of Rachel Steven's "Come and Get It" and Jo's "Relentless." Let's keep praying guys!
Cool CD.......2006-08-10
Get ready to dance!!.......2006-05-07
It's got lots of fun, danceable music. It also has some good love songs too. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes S Club, as well as anyone who just wants to have some fun dance music.
It Deserves a Clap.......2005-11-15
hI! i AM sHREYONTI. I think 'Straight From The Heart' is my favourite song. It is more mature and sweeter than other songs. As far as the vocals go, Gangsta love is great because it has such a strange lyrics but you cannot exactly feel that. Most people do not like 'dance' but I do. 'Show me your Colours' is very different. 'Have You Ever' is cute. However the catchy songis 'Do it till we drop'. Rachel needs a clap for keeping up with the tempo. The song I did not care about was 'Dance Dance'. Its lyrics is not good enough. But on a whole, S Club is my favourite and I wish one day I will be able to meet them.
Don't Stop Movin' To This Funky Beat!.......2005-04-25
1) Don't Stop Movin' - 10/10 - Only the best song in the world. Bradley and Jo sing this winning, danceable number. Easily the best song on the album.
2) Whole Lotta Nothin' - 8/10 - This song has some sort of Latin feel to it. It's different from what you've probably ever heard. It's really neat how the speed of this song just cranks up and slows down. Jo's vocals are okay.
3) Do It Til We Drop - 10/10 - This song was my favorite when I first bought the album. It really can bore you out though. Rachel's vocals are incredible, and so is the melody to this song.
4) You - 9/10 - This is just a fun, danceable tune and nothing more. The vocals are excellent, but the chorus was kind of boring.
5) Have You Ever - 10/10 - The best ballad on this album. The song and Jo's vocals will easily blow you away. I got chills up and down my spine.
6) Gangsta Love - 10/10 - This song has the weirdest lyrics you will ever hear. But that doesn't stop the chorus or Rachel's amazing vocals from reaching your ears.
7) Alive - 9/10 - The chorus to this song is what keeps me going. So do the first few verses, because Bradley actually gives us a decent rap song! But the bridge at the end... ugh... it sounds awful.
8) Show Me Your Colours - 10/10 - This song will be on your playlist. It's smart and witty, Rachel does great.
9) Dance - 7/10 - I've never really cared for this song. It was rather boring, easpecially the chorus.
10) The Greatest - 8/10 - An okay song... Rachel and Jo have decent vocals, but it's a little to slow for me.
11) Sunshine - 10/10 - I love this song! Jon has lead vocals, and really shines! The band does excellent in the chorus too! I love it!
12) Dance, Dance, Dance - 9/10 - Just your typical party song. Not as spectacular as 'S Club Party', but it gets you up and moving.
13) Who Do You Think You Are? - 10/10 - I love this song! It's great! The melody is catchy, and each S Clubber's vocal is fabulous.
14) Straight From The Heart - 9/10 - Another ballad. It's more mature than what S Club usually does. I didn't care for the chorus, though the verses were excellent!
The CD cover comes with a few pictures of the S Club together, and then pictures of them seperatley. There's also words to ALL of the song. And of course... credits and thank yous.
I'd recommend listening to the 30 second clips of each song, on the tracklisting provided by Amazon. It gives you a real feel for the songs.

Don't Stop Movin To This Funky, Funky Beat!.......2007-06-21
1. Don't Stop Movin' - 10/10 - If given the chance, this song could have gone on to be huge hit here in the States. The song is extremely catchy, and Bradley and Jo mesmerize you with their vocals. This is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite, songs by the band.
2. Don't Stop Movin' (Jewels & Stone Radio Mix) - 10/10 - This track is simply a remix of track 1. It's about the same length as the original song, and nothing much is different except it has a faster beat to it. It's still very memorable.
3. Right Guy - 8/10 - Not the best song by the band, and I believe a better track could have been placed here. The song has a sort of Latin feel to it, but it's nothing spectacular.
4. Don't Stop Movin' (Music Video) - 10/10 - The music video for Don't Stop Movin' can be watched by putting this CD into your computer's disc drive. I love the video as it has really exotic and fun dancing with a lot of vibrant colors.
All in all, this is a great single to pick up. If you like the songs you find here or are interested in more by S Club 7, I would recommend listen to their album 'Don't Stop Movin''. The album features the song Don't Stop Movin' and many others.
Don't stop Movin' is awesome!.......2003-08-09
QUICK, Somebody get me an EXTENDED VERSION!.......2003-02-28
While S Club may not be my favorite pop band, they have beat out the competition with this song. This one caught on at first hearing - and I had not even heard it from the beginning. I was camped out on Radio Disney until it came on again. Lucky for me the song ended with "S Club beat" because the radio dj did not say who the song was by. The cd single was in my possesion the next day.
All I can say about why this song has rocketed up to number 1 as my favorite Feel Good song is because it has something to do with the beat and it's rhythm patterns. While I have many feel good songs I enjoy, not many pack such a potent punch as this one. Groove Is In The Heart by Deee-lite are perhaps the last song to vibe like this one.
As for the remix included on the single, it does not do this song any justice. What I would really want is an extended version of the original version. While the remix takes up the tempo and follows the original rhythm patterns it seems to take away from the "feel good" vibe that the original version has.
THE ULTIMATE FEEL GOOD SONG........2003-02-25
I heard this on Radio Disney and had goose bumps from head to toe! I am sure glad the song said "S Club Beat" at the end because the DJ did not say the title or artist.
I have not had so much fun with a song like this in years. I mean there are fun pops but this one THRILLED me more that an amusement park rollercoaster. I cannot say that I am all that familiar than this group and other songs by them are fine, but this song shot down everything by Britney Spears, Xtina Aguilera, Anastacia, Backstreet Boys and Nsync as far a being a feel good song that makes me want to boogie! S Club may not be as good as those artists mentioned but they sure beat out the competition here with this one!
The remix, while taking up the tempo and basically having the same melodies but with different instruments and a 4/4 beat it cannot touch the original in the excitement deptartment. Look, if Anastacia can't touch it no one can! I am loving it!!!!

Aha!!! An instrumental version, JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!!!.......2003-02-28
I bought this for the Karaoke version. Now I may sing along with it but what I really want the instrumental version for, is so that I can make my own extended version for this song. At just under 4 minutes, I just cannot get enough and the remix by Jewels and Stone just does not hold a candle to the original.
This song is smokin', it hooks and bridges drive me crazy. What is it about a song that just makes you feel good all over. Kyle' Minogues Can't Get You Out Of My Head was fun to sing along with but it's feel good vibe was only good. This songs is over the top.

Blew the doors off EVERYTHING in 2003........2003-10-05
Now S-Club 7 is not one of my favorite pop bands. They is more like pre-teen listening like Aaron Carter's music. This in not a bad thing, as kids need to have music they can enjoy and relate to. But as for me they just do not do it, Nsync, Britney Spears and Anastacia are more my speed in light-hearted pop (bubblegum).
So how in the heck did this happen? This song just blows the doors off the competition including the above mentioned artists. S-Club just made a splash...no, better yet a TIDALWAVE!!!!
What a melody, what rhythm. This song is like an amusement park ride. From the beginning to end this song keeps the vibe going and not letting up. You know it from the vocorder that sounds the "Get Set" signal and then the beat kicks in and it's goosebumps from head to toe. Get a load of how it transitions from verse to bridge and to the rollercoaster chorus.
The words are so fitting to the vibe. This song is king for 2003!!!!
