More House Flava from Morillo!.......2002-08-04

New Jersey's Erick Morillo is already on his way to becoming one of the most well-respected DJs in house. Morillo's house isn't as mellowed-out and jazzy as, say, Louie Vega; the tempo is higher, and the beats are more aggressive. Truth be told, this isn't one of my favorite discs from him. I actually thought he was more impressive on "House Nation America" and "Sessions 10" (both are also on Ministry of Sound and are must-haves for househeads like myself). But there's enough good stuff on these two discs to make it a fun ride. Disc two is the more satisfying, although both are impressive melanges of hard beats, good basslines, and, of course, a dash of Latin influences. On disc two, Morillo really shines and brings the house down during the five final cuts; the best of which is "Everybody Over There" by Roc and Presta. We also get an interesting mix of the onetime club anthem "Spin Spin Sugar" by Sneaker Pimps, as well as appearances by established house divas Jocelyn Brown and Michelle Weeks. For those who like their house pumpin', soulful, but trance-free, you can't go wrong with this disc.

If I could, I would rate this cd 10 stars instead of 5 (house music fans, you can understand me, can't you?) ... first, Morillo mixes like a genius as usual, and even the people who are not particularly in the house music mouvement appreciate him... then MOS is a legend; if you find a cd with the label MOS, you don't need to think if you're gonna be satisfied... you will ! This CD has all the european atmosphere (in particular Ibiza...) that you can't find in the US... Anyway, if you wanna have some good music in your collection, just buy this CD, you won't regret

House At Its Finest.......2000-07-26

These CDs are two of the best House CDs I own. Morillo's mixing is flawless. His transitions, flow of tunes, and cuts make these cds very enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend this album for anyone looking a good house album.
